This is a great arrangement. Most of the renditions out there are in a major key. The minor key here adds to the solemnity and reverence. I would love to know where I can find this version so that we can do it in my choir.
+Triumphcarnut I love your comment. *already dead*. Romans 6:23 kjv for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. We are born into the wages of sin so therefore we are dead and then resurected to having eternal life to those who are saved. I mentioned that while preaching the other day
WONDERFUL! Reverent & moving arrangement / lyrics -- beautifully sung! ` "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." 1 Cor.15:3-4 ` added to favorites! Thank you for posting 'SE Samonte' ! `
This is an real Inspred song! It's an amazing and powerful worship song, like no others! Thanks to this channel for share this song based on Biblical Truths!
" here, Lord I give myself away ' Tis all that I can do. 'Tis all that I can do. This little section reminds me of Thomasin and the choice she made just to survive.
This is lovely - the music and the singers. I am not familiar with the tune. Per comment of another member I ordered Great Songs of the Church, but was disappointed to find the hymn there is the traditional Martyrdom tune, not this one. I would like to know how to find the music to this tune.
I so enjoy the hymn and the outstanding presentation. I listen to them regularly and use them for a Group Devotion every Sunday. Thank you and please keep adding more. What a blessing you are.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (February 21, Lent 2), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. I played this as the Closing Hymn. However, it was to the tune, MARTYRDOM, composed by Hugh Wilson. It is #337 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (February 27), I filled in at a local Presbyterian Church for a noon Lent service. I played this to open the service. However, it was to the tune, MARTYRDOM, composed by Hugh Wilson, 1764-1824.
@Jambeeno ONLY THE Jews considered it a cult because it was new and out of there normal standards or conditions of serving God. But Jesus came to pass the Law of Grace and Mercy. Many of Jesus's prophesies have already come to past which proves his existence even after his death.
@sadeswaggsitout this is untrue. It might help to check out the definition of "cult" at the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Christianity currently is and historically was a cult in many distinct senses of the word. Romans thought it was a cult, Zoroastrian Persians thought it was a cult, early Muslim Arabs and Persians thought it was a cult, various Scandinavians, Eastern Europeans and Western Asians thought it was a cult... because it WAS a cult. It was a new, unorthodox religion.
I have not seen the movie, so enlighten me as to the reason you are mentioning it here and regarding the story of the death of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
@lordgracie Actually, Christians do not worship a demonic god. We worship the true God. You also seem to mix up Satan and the Living God that we worship. They are actually different. Also, it is not fair to say that Christians make 'ancient' sacrifices. The sacrifice was made on the cross, a long time ago, once and for all. I encourage you to look into these things more carefully. Read the prophesies and the gospels. I would love to reason with you. God bless.
@checkitall1 whether Christianity was new at the dawn of Islam has nothing to do with whether Muslims thought Christians cultists who were better off assimilated or culturally marginalized. Check your ad hominem tendencies before posting more comments.
@jangaley We'd disagree about the meaning of the word "apparently." ;) Christian tribulations aren't unique; history overflows with accounts of religious persecution. Christianity is certainly the largest religion; if you want to argue that ubiquity evinces worthiness, you're free to. However, I don't think just because ideas are tenacious it means that they're worthy. Here's an inoffensive atheist Christmas song with lyrics I quoted: th-cam.com/video/fCNvZqpa-7Q/w-d-xo.html
Israel is a nation, a people-culture-heritage. Nations endure even if states come and go. Think of Poland, which disappeared off the map as a state more than once, or of Palestine, which never existed as an independent state but as a national identity. Israel is a TINY sliver of land, 1/7 the size of Florida. It should be noted that the Arabs who claim ownership to the land, they themselves have 22 countries which are about 640 times the size of Israel.
So a radical Jew was brutally executed circa 30 CE, therefore you have a chance at eternity in heaven? And the symbol of your group is the hideous torture device upon which he died? How horribly macabre. fwiw I'm an atheist and I found this hauntingly beautiful; they're very good vocalists! If the lyrics didn't strike me as monumentally silly I'd get a lot more out of it.
I can't listen to this without crying. The Isaiah 53 at the end was the kicker.
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalms 30:5 (KJV)

This setting is by Deborah Govenor
Having a little private Maundy Thursday service by watching & listening to hymns.
As a palestinian christian, I hope and pray that we can both live in peace in our land which we now share with the Jewish people
Messianic jew praising God for your faith-hoping the return of the Prince of Peace is near.
Jesus Christ gave His all for us now we must give Him all He asked of us.
John Keefer Not to be saved, but for service and out of love for what He did for us.
And who's to say which is more incredible-a man who raises the dead…or a God who weeps?
Or a Saviour who is capable of giving life was also willing to give his own for us who were dead already

This shall be played at my funeral. Sucess or failure, this is my life and i shall own unto it, as Christ owns it.
As you have finished the race in the faith. Well done, good and faithful servant!
A tune setting that fits the words. Thank you so much. Sadly, the link to purchase a CD of the album no longer works for that purpose.

The lyrics should say "for His own creatures' sin". It was for all the world that Christ died
I too think Jesus Christ payed for the curse also. So he could rightfully redeemed everything in the future.
Beautiful
Thanks you brothers and sisters..
OMG, what a touching performance. It has touched the heart of this nullifidian.
+Flatfoot2282 Holy Ghost Power!
So reviving. To God be the glory.
3:02 - What do you give to God when you give all? Nothing but a sin-polluted heart!
We have naught but Christ’s righteous to present when we stand before judgement

Those were one of the best lyrics I've heard. Very well made video! God bless you!

Very nice!
Can someone provide a link to a hymnal page with this melody/arrangement?
This is excellent... is there anyway ANYONE knows to what tune they are singing this hymn? Or even better, the musical arrangement?
Yes what tune is this? I'm used to MARTYRDOM.
Does anyone know the name of the melody in this version? Please, tell me if you do!
Thumbs up if you enjoyed this hymn!

Someone please help me find the version of this hymn with the original lyrics.
I think this is the original lyrics?

The composer is R.E. Hudson

I wish this version was on the witch. But i still like the dark depressing version of that one.
"...a good place to start?" The early Church Fathers. If only we'd read.

Does anyone know where I can get sheet music for this arrangement?
You honor YHWH ,efeze 5 19
@MrEriesal YES,. very true
Interesting tune to these words. Is it a Mennonite tune specifically?

This is a lovely hymn, it's too bad you felt it necessary to change the words and the music.
