The first thing I fitted to my '22 Classic 350 after the 300 mi break in was the DNA filter and plate. It smothed out the acceleration quite a bit and made the most beautiful induction roar. Then at 1200 mi I added the De-Cat pipe and FuelX lite module. Another improvement in response and seemed like more torque. THEN I fitted the Kent cam. OH Doctor did that little 350 come to life after that. The dealer said I have the only one in SoCal that they have seen and even they were impressed. Next bike I get is going to be a Super Meteor as I really need a touring bike again. My other bike is a CBR1000RR so these little RE's are a huge change of pace but I absolutely love them. Cheers from SoCal 🏖
I fitted the Hitchcocks DNA air filter last year. Contented grin on my face as i used my late wifes glass gravy jug to let the filter oil soke in. After it had drained i installed it and left the bike ticking over for nearly 15-minutes. I found the engin ran cooler. And was just a little more responsive even in 6th gear at 40mph. Getting up to 70mph was much better. But i dont believe the hype of gaining 10bhp? Two or three maybe? But i didnt buy the 650 Super Meteor for speed. Safe cruising dude 👍...
Awesome, I defiantly noticed a difference after fitting, even that extra noise put a smile on my face. I agree acceleration is much better. There is a lot of hype on BHP but agree with you it is minimal but the thought of the engine breathing better is enough for me.....Thanks for the reply and watching...safe riding 👍
Great Video 👍… Did an air box mod a few years ago on a Triumph Bonny 2015 last of the air cooled and the official instructions for that mod was idle the bike for the same amount of time as you did so the bikes ecu can learn and then take for a ride after…Sounds like your bikes running well so it’s adapted to the changes 👍. You would definitely know if it didn’t… so great stuff and keep up with the videos as they are great. Just bought a super meteor myself, first day with it… Very happy. Anyway I’ve subscribed … keep the good info coming and shiny side up 👍👍👍👍👍
Many thanks for watching & subscribing. The new ECU's are very clever and can detect change and adjust accordingly. Im impressed with the filter.Well done on your new purchase they are great bikes. Happy Biking 👍👍🤌
Hey! Lovely video and thank you for the info! I have a question in case anyone could help me...I'll soon have the bike delivered and I was wondering if its okay to install the air filter as soon as I get the bike. Does it hurt the breaking in of the engine, does it help or it doesnt rly matter? Thx in advance!
Thanks for watching its much appreciated. The funny thing is I waited until the first 300 mile service before installing mine. But the mechanic who serviced my bike mentioned about fitting a DNA filter and I asked the question could I have fitted one before the service and he said it would do no harm at all, just got to run the bike in as normal. He also recommended I fit a NGK CR8EIX IRIDIUM spark plug which I did....I have done a video on that. Hope that helps, enjoy your bike 👍
It comes pre oil when purchased but you can buy oil when its time for a service. Thanks for watching... www.dnafilters.com/en/categories/dna-service-kit
i dont think a new filter is necessary, just remove the snorkel on the the air filter box. it just clips on/off. that seems to be whats restricting the flow.
A DNA filter smooths the air flow stream as it passes through the filter. This helps to reduce turbulence by sending clean air to the engine intake. High, unified, and smooth air flow are crucial for bike performance, so you can expect increased torque and horsepower when you use a DNA air filter. One other great feature of a DNA air filter is that the oil they use creates a small static charge. That means even the tiniest particles won’t get into your engine because the charge naturally pulls things towards it - and keeps them there until you’re ready to clean your filter. DNA air filters are made from marine grade 5000 series aluminum. They feature a unique "wrap & fill" and a precisely calculated wire diameter that is designed to fit into your existing factory air box. They are known for high tensile strength and elasticity that lasts the lifetime of the filter. It has several layers of material including: Cotton Wire mesh Filtering media Filter oil DNA PU DNA EVA Thanks for watching,.
Yes there is noticeable difference in noise, there is an amplified intake noise, the bike has a bit of a roar. What with the lovely added tone from your stock pipes the bike certainly sounds much better. Thanks for watching 👍
Does the instructions for the dna kit tell you to let the bike tick over for 10 minutes of are you just following the so called TH-cam /Internet experts,
Well there is a lot of videos out there that tell you about the tick over process. I was very hesitant about replacing the filter but I spoke to a friend who is a motor cycle mechanic who explained to me that all new bikes have an ECU which has adaptive learning and will adjust for changes in intake and exhaust. So therefore for best practice it is suggested to let the bike tick over so the ECU can do its adjusting. He said to do the same if fitting after market exhausts. For the sake of a few minutes there is nothing to loose but when you think about it, it does make sense. I'm well happy with the filter. But sorry, no it doesn't say in the instructions. Thanks for watching the video 👍
@@Butlers_Bike_life hitchcocks have a new video out that shows fitting the dna kit on a hunter and running it on the dyno with no mention of doing it, do you not think dna know more about the ecu and there kit than your friend

The plastic air intake is designed to NOT suck-in water in some heavy rain conditions, where the performance filter clearly says - race use only :)
I have one in my SM650. Loving it 👍🏻
Thats awesome, I can honestly say it is money well spent. Thanks for watching 😀

Did you get the stage 2 filter cover with the air filter or did you buy seperately
It came as part of a kit. accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/49201?cont_page=Royal-Enfield-650-Super-Meteor-Accessories 👍
Does the oil is used within the installation or only as a maintenance of the filter?

what are the benefits of an DNA air filter?
Much better throttle response, & a lovely noise form the air induction. Thanks for watching 👍

Its a subtle change of note but does sound good to the ears whilst cruising. Its not too loud. Thanks for watching.@@mototom9086

Have you enquired with Hitchcocks ? Be interesting to hear their take on it. @@hunterrider349
I have just e-mailed Hitchcocks for clarification regarding the adaptive ECU.
