- The roof where the person lay was less than 150 meters (164 yards) from where Trump was speaking, a distance from which a decent marksman could reasonably hit a human-sized target. For reference, 150 meters is a distance at which U.S. Army recruits must hit a scaled human-sized silhouette to qualify with the M-16 rifle. The AR-15, like the shooter at the Trump rally had, is the semi-automatic civilian version of the military M-16.

The DEI first timers secret service would have you believe otherwise.
Not only no way would he be able to get on that roof unspotted but the first person that disabled him was a local police SWAT sniper. He hit and disabled his rifle. And people were saying up to 2 minutes before there's a guy on the roof over there. So how come the secret service really dropped the ball on this one? They were actually told they should monitor that roof 2 days ahead of time by the local police. And why do they have two snipers on the same roof right next to each other? What happened to a spotter and a sniper? The anti-Sniper should have a spotter and to at least two different locations. Let's just be lucky that the shooter sucked. I'm an ex-marine. And less than 200 yards is a give me. I scored expert on the rifle range and they take us out to the 600 yd line and now that's a shot. Without a scope forget about it. It's tough. But I still managed. A lot of other Marines could have easily made that shot. So this guy sort of sucked. I don't think he prepared or anything. I don't know if they've ever come up with any motivation for his shooting. That being said I'm not a Trump fan but I don't want to win this way. And I don't think killing at all and this situation would be justified. But I really think secret service bit the big one on this one.
So, all that security detail including the Secret Service were out classed by a kid 150 yds away!?! Something is definitely not right here 😕
Surely they must have drones surveillance the area. And it was not like there were hundreds of rooftops in the area. Weird.

The point is the reporter didn't know who owned the rifle when the ownership had already been established and made public within a couple of hours of the attempt. I guess he was not watching Agenda Free TV and Steve Lookner who covered the whole event and preliminary investigation.
And without a gun registry they tracked down the owner within hours, they keep telling on themselves
