ISO needed to relocate its existing log export ticketing and log scaling operation at the port to a new off-port site. The requirement was to create an improved working environment for staff, providing sun and rain protection.
A SmartShelter was custom-designed and purpose-built to the new building code. The shelter is an exempt structure, so building consent with NPDC was not required.
Jess Logan from ISO says this was cost-efficient, and ISO are happy with the final result. “It fits in well and has provided an excellent solution to meeting the company’s needs. The site is now operational, and all issues are resolved.” He also says that it provided a long-term solution, and the natural lighting and natural ventilation are added benefits.
