Such a beautiful and underrated fruit here in Australia. I'm looking forward to the Ben Hur after your video. Already tasted Wonderful and Rosavaya varities. My Wonderful was very sweet with a bit or sourness that I'd expect from a pomegranate. Rosavaya has more of a classical light sweet flavour which is very pleasent to eat. The trees are also looking beautiful with the golden foliage in Autumn!
Thats definately ripe - bad pomegranate season here but rainfall has been really low. Excellent thoughts on the flavour and comparison Paul. Our Elche has light coloured fruit like the Ben-Hur you have shown.
Great pomegranate harvest, Paul! They all looked very good inside! I do enjoy pomegranate juice, that’s probably what I’d do with them, although I doubt any of my trees will produce any fruit for me lol 😂
Hi Peter. I read somewhere the the nickname given to people from England as in "Pom" originated from their love for the fruit Pomegranate so I had always presumed that they would grow well in England. Thats interesting. I think that they do need some chill hours.
@@UrbanBounty oh, that’s interesting, I didn’t know that’s where that term came from. The trees do grow fine but need more heat for the flowers to start early enough for the fruit to have time to ripen. So even in central London people struggle to get anything edible sized from them. I’m much further north so even less chance lol 😂 I’m actually in Sydney right now, and would you believe the weather back home is actually better lol 🤣. Although it’s not as cold at night here.
@@UrbanBounty cheers! Yeah, I will try to record a few videos. I'll probably have to wait until I get back before I edit and upload them though. Got a couple more updates prerecorded too haha 😂
I love the deep red colour of the wonderful pomegranates. However Ben Hur sounds like it’s a sweeter variety 🙌🏾 I’m hoping mine will fruit this summer, which is no easy feat here in the uk 🤣
Nice Paul - i have onlr ever had one fruit on Ben Hur and agree it is Superior to Wonderful and others for that matter but wished it fruited better in pot's - they are all a cutting arnt they 🎂

I'm confident that you will get fruit mate after seeing what you did with the Papayas!
@@UrbanBounty Thanks Bud 😀

Yes mate, I think they are all cuttings, I got this as a tiny 4 inch cutting from gardenworld.
@@UrbanBounty got mine @ Bunnies
@@UrbanBounty got mine @ Bunnies - i think they do better in ground but no space
nice i love these in the uk
Thanks Gary 👍
Nice looking pomegranates Paul
Which has the least crispy part in the pearls
They are both pretty crispy, texture wise it is hard to tell any difference mate.
I grow one in the pot and it does not grow very well.
Hi Sang La, yes lots of people tell me it doesnt grow good in pots.
Decent fruits, can't say I'm much of a pomegranate fan 😁
Me too but the ben hur is definitely quite nice, not sour so far.
Very nice work...I have subs
Thank you very much 👍
Is there a variety which has less than a zillion seeds?
Hello, not that I am aware of.
There are pomengranate juicers which crush the seeds to get the juice and then you can dispose of the crushed seeds
@UrbanBounty ok I was just curious. It's such an annoying fruit to pick & eat off the tree due to all those seeds
