I was almost sold on the GameStation Pro. Then when I thought I’d get one, the store was out. But the ball and number pad, I really want GameStation Go, and the game pads for couch co op
Gamestation Go looks interesting. I might have to get one although like some other people I'm not sure if I'll be able to adapt to the paddle and trackball being on the left side. I'm willing to give it a shot though. Never played any games with a track ball before. Or the number pad either. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
These look great. That arcade stick with the trackball and spinner would be a great accessory for the Evercade if they could make it compatible. Anyway, I look forward to when these items are released. I'm sure I'll be picking up a few of them. Thanks for the video, John!
The GO looks fantastic! It would be wise to allow the unit to flip like the Lynx. The trackball and paddle are much better for right-handed play for most people.
I really like my Gamestation pro and will be picking up a couple of the controllers. I'm very interested in the hand held. I'm not sure about re-training for a left-hand paddle and track ball. Now, if they gave it a screen rotate...although, that would require remapping all the controls. So, I'm not holding my breath. I look forward to your review.
Hmm. $150 with all those features and power range (able to play the recharge series). Makes me wonder about that Capcom and Bandia/Namco one. IF the quality of the game emulation is at least as good as these Chinese handhelds; I may be curious.
I am definitely interested in the Bandai Namco kind of mini arcade cabinet as I'm sure it'll have Galaga on there. If so, I can see myself buying one of those units.
I did some researching and the recharged series needs 4gbs of ram. Most required a athalon 3 or i3 processors. To me, the GSgo is equivalent to gCloud, ABXYlute.
If they would bring out games we not currently available, such as Colecovision related titles or Midway games that would be super. However, if they're just bringing out the same games they and others currently offer, it won't stand out. Looks great, good price point, but if I already have the bulk of the games not a compelling buy.
I like that My Arcade is carrying on the Atari legacy but the control layouts are a dealbreaker for me. Most of those games were designed for the stick/spinner/ball to be used with the right hand. I admit, I'm really finicky about this stuff. But I can't get past it. Dig Dug doesn't feel like Dig Dug with a left hand stick. And trying to do Missile Command with the trackball under my lefthand? No way. But for people who don't care about those things, these seem like exciting products and I might get the handheld anyway as a collector item.
there's 2 different external controllers coming out for it. yeah having it on the left isn't that great. but i'll manage with the external ones. its not a dealbreaker at all later | || | | ne gative 1
The gamestation go aside...I think my arcade are releasing and focusing on too many products.... focus on less products and make them good quality? its like they throw all their ideas up in the air and see which ones they get the best feedback from then do the same again...lol.... releasing very few in the end....
Yes, the Atari looks fun, but they are old retro games that you can emulate for free on SO many consoles / PC. Now I am interested in the joystick accessory they are releasing. I don't care if the Nintendo Switch 2 comes out at a price tag of $600, I would be in line buying it.
Can't speak for the OP but I would say it *feels* late to a lot of the original GSP buyers and supporters who saw all the supplemental products announced a year ago get quietly scrapped and support for the GSP effectively ended. I have high hopes for the GSG but the bar is high after how their support for the GSP collapsed in 2024.
ENGAMENT. for the algo I got nothing to say about handhelds my old hands and neck are too aged to enjoy a handheld that's not a og gameboy anymore. Crabclaw for life takes it's toll.
I'm excited for the Atari Go! First time since I was a kid to be this excited for an upcoming game system!
lotsa great Retro love at CES!
Love your enthusiasm and energy. Thanks for another great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It looks interesting. And I'm glad to see it has HDMI output, because I mostly game on my TV.
I’m super excited for that atari go!
All glory to our handheld future!

I'm a caregiver and my client has a great beard I'll have to model yours to cut for him. Good content as always John

Would love to watch you do hands on reviews of these!
That is the plan!
Reminds me of the mini arcade handhelds that came out in the 80’s
I think The Gamestation Go is neat. We'll see.
I am probably going to get the Atari Gamestation Go.

Thanks for the great comment. I agree, the trackball and spinner would be perfect for the system!
@@johnhancockretro Even if I wasnt getting a gamestation Go, I'd want this for my Batocera box

Great hat!
I love that hat!!

N Gage came to mind with that dpad
Build Quality is the only thing I would be concerned about, hopefully they are upping their game!
Why stop at just 5200, INTV & Jaguar support with that keypad? We could probably use that keypad for a lot of 8-Bit and ST games too. 😊
Jaguar is too hard to emulate for this low cost hardware. At $149 it isn't going to have beefy enough hardware to run it well.

centepede recharged ... is this a vcs (laptop) in a handheld?!! woot wooT1
the joysticks that came with the GSP were great. No idea why people complained about them.
I wonder what games will be playable on the Gamestation Retro Pro? The controllers look good.

Fair enough
Used to have an Atari lynx. This is quite neat to hear
The go looks fun. The trackball is the selling point.
colecovision slither on a portable? *with a trackball?* 😍
I'm hoping they will!
A spinner would be nice on the go if it could fit .
I wish a third party company like Hori would make a joycon with a small trackball for Atari collection and other games.
👍👍™️
I grew up on Venture, DK Jr. And Zaxxon on Coleco. Now I pump 150 hours into something like Xenoblade. Do you play games that take a lot of your time?
I used to but my down time changed
2025 products with John Hancock
I'm in if it plays Jaguar
Wonder if the gamepad is compatible with the Gamestation pro
I hope so
Impossible for Jaguar games as need good specs to play the jag, and to keep costs down I very much doubt it.
proper jaguar emulation requires plenty of horsepower still so I wouldn't hold my breath for it on a handheld like this so cheap
Good to know.
what a shame. is that because the architecture is so goofy (and god damned hard to program for, i've heard)?
@@cyrollan yes
Will Gauntlet be on it??!!!!!
No idea but can be added

Why couldn’t they put the keypad on the left and the other controls or at least more on the right in the go ?
not sure what you mean about dig dug theres a pump button for both sides. thats like saying pac-man is a right handed game
I'm hoping the mega player includes puzzle fighter turbo. Because the evercade counter cade has it.
Hope they make the controller VCS compatible.

I agree that emulating those old Atari games is easy, but I love the portability and the look of the console!
Q3 is way too late for their product line...
Why do you say that? In the fall before the holidays seems good for me.

Seriously a Left handed track ball and spinner?
I just don't see enough interest in anything Atari except for hardcore fans. Do people even emulate Atari games?
I know people are making new Atari 7800 games.
