The ending match was insane. She made Tomjanovic have to earn this victory. If you want to retire me, you better give it your all. Wonderful career. I was never a huge tennis fan growing up but Serena and Venus made me feel invested. Congrats on a wonderful career.

Arthur Ashe is too big for tennis. The very upper tier is a terrible place to watch a match, the players look like ants.
When Serena played doubles the day before something told me she was going to loose the next day cause she was exhausted.
Not to mention that second set took a lot out of her
Roger said he noticed it was far harder for him to recover in his final matches. I imagine that was Serena’s problem. That is likely why she went back to her power game so she didn’t have as many rallies.
