XRF can be fooled by a thick plating. You have to cut into the jewelry if you want to be 100% certain on an XRF. The Sigmas are good and sometimes too good, as they'll occasionally show a legit item as fake.......this is due to some silver items being cast from powdered silver. Even a trace amount of another metal that got into the batch of pure silver/gold will cause them to read as fake. You'll find that when you adjust the settings for a lower purity, it'll often read right. The bottom line is that testing should not be limited to just one method. It sounds like you are a newbie, best of luck to you.
Yes I’m new. Could you help me?
As someone trying to help you, I think it’s a shame that you are stubborn in your beliefs that you’d name call and walk away rather than learn from others with the experience. Like I’ve said, you can lead a horse to water… good luck Mr. Expert!
Buy from lcs not huge companies in my humble opinion.
Why?
Because small businesses need it much more.
What about the 30000+ employees from Costco? Do they need your business?
You don’t have to spend ALL of your money at a local business making them a millionaire.
I am pro small business. Tough if you don't like it. Giving your dollars to huge discounters is supporting every entity trying to ruin our small businesses including our local coin shop friends.
Not nice to click bait us with that verified bad bar. And if you think you got a great deal, ask anyone who bought last month.
You’veuuyy tiyimemy it’s Tomme
Your on glue if you don’t like costco
@@mattmatt6572 We prefer to be called "city slickers" thank you very much!
I don’t live in a big city but I’ll drive to Costco and go back to my smaller city.
Darn clickbait!!
I guess you didn’t understand the video. It’s ok because a few of you didn’t. You’re not alone!
How does Costco deal with the $600 IRS reporting requirement ?
???
@@don951 cash transactions over $600 now need to be reported to the IRS. That rule was in place for coins and bullion long ago.
walmart only uses apmex, you would be better off buying straight from apmex in most cases.
your pay more from apmex
Walmart allows many sellers to sell including small-time people.
Buying 1/10 oz I don’t recommend. The premium is too high for so little gold.
If you sell it properly you get the premium during the sell too
If everyone uses Costco and puts local coin shops out of business where are we selling our gold when we need to?
Generally each Costco sells one item of precious metals… how would that put anyone out of business?
@@mrsspegtacular6484 it all starts somewhere. Walmart sells numismatics online. Nobody thought Amazon would kill bookstores…
