Big fan of these types of auctions. And in between I enjoy stacks bowers online for lots of variety. Shipwreck stuff is badass…
What up buddy?
I like the old Spanish coins, they're really interesting. I especially like the coins in coral. Some day I'll have to get my hands on the right piece. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your pick ups!
Thanks for checking out the video! Appreciate you.
I only have one silver shipwreck coin. It's an 8 reals cob from 1667. made during the regin of king Charles II of Spain. The cob does have some salt water damage.
Those coins stuck in the coral are truly amazing!
Aren’t they? Such history!
These are some very nice pieces of history.
Great video - always fascinated by things that connect me to the past, and pirate treasure is no exception. Would love to see Greek and Roman coins from medieval times if you have some of those.
THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE SPEGS ...VID WAS COOL
Great content
,love the history
Wonderful varied shipwreck collection, Speg. I have a 1739 8 reales recovered from the Hollandia sunk near England in 1743. NGC graded it after I'd provided provenance.
That’s super cool! Don’t have that shipwreck yet but they’re affordable from what I’ve seen.
Nice!
Beautiful collection I learned a little about my 1700s 8 reals see the plus ultra or part of it now I know what that means
Wow! I love old day treasure, the stories about pirates and shipwrecks is something I really enjoy, it’s like we need to know for future protection 👊
Actually a pirate, Jennings I believe, waited for months while the British salvaged a huge loaf of silver, some gold and raw emerald off the Sebastian Inlet. The 2 man guarded storage hut man was then pilfered by the pirates without a fight.
Wow!! Those are some INCREDIBLE pieces. Museum quality. You could literally have your own Spegwreck Museum. Love that raw piece with the rock. I can definitely understand why others wanted to buy it from you immediately after your purchase. So cool. Does the price you paid include the auction fees or was that extra?
Hey Sal, thanks for having a look! The auction fee was an additional 20% on each item. Pretty hefty fee so as I was buying something, I was doing the math on a separate piece of paper so I didn't capsize... pun intended.
This is my primary interest. I go x- calibre 2 wreck hunting at the known 1715 or 1659 beach sites (the law) after many canes. It's rare to find one.
super cool!!
I have a fascination with ship wreck coins. Awesome find Speg. Thank you for sharing
Fun pieces! Thanks for sharing Speg. Happy Veterans Day
Happy Veterans Day to you as well!
Fascinating , I absolutely love learning about the history of coinage 👍
Very nice Spegtacular....but way too rich for my blood anymore. Congrats though on yours!
💯 the 3 piece on the reef is an awesome buy !
I wouldn't get rid of that ever myself .
The music 🎶 at the end was just the right touch excellent choice .
A Classic !
💯
Wow ! What a super auction that was .
Very nice buys speg. !
For the future ! if I were to find an auction, what would a guy need to take with him to get a few graded shipwreck coins ?
Ball park me a sensible number to take and bit or have saved to buy .
Super nice cobs !!
The book ! Where are you finding the books at ??
Thx. Brother ! Hope all is going well with the family ! And the new bundle of joy on the way !
It depends on condition, type of coin, and the shipwreck. Some shipwrecks and their common coinage for a couple hundred
Love Treasure 😊
It's so good!
Epic
Love the ship wreck stuff but haven’t gotten any yet. Awesome stuff!
13:50 unburdened by what has been
Beautiful pieces of history!
I have an 8 reales from the El Cazador shipwreck that I cherish, but I may trade for that 3 piece with coral! Haha
i wish you mentioned what your winning bid for each item was (or roughly at least). I know they can vary widely, but if you told us how much, we'd have that knowledge!
Just curious why you need that knowledge?
@@Spegtacular Purely just so I know what is a good price point when i look for similiar for myself! Especially if its not in a big coin show like that.... if its a more private deal (one on one, or at a flea market, etc) then its unlikely to have other coins around to compare prices to
China. Duplicates...sad. But true
WHAT ARE PRICES ON THOSE OR IS IT A NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE? LOL ID LIKE TO KNOW EVEN WHAT TYPE OF RANGE IF YOU DONT MIND
The range is all over the place. From a couple hundred to big numbers in the auction.
@@Spegtacular OK
The man is a master of the emojis.
Would those even be considered emojis?
@@Spegtacular they're emotokens hahaha
Oh emotional tokens.
Beautiful coins/Cobbs.
Speg., nice selections.
Would love to get a 1600s gold escudo but sadly they hard to get in the UK i got 8 reals along with mid 1700s and early 1800s escudo even then I got lucky to find them 1600s even more difficult I suppose it the same for Americans trying to find Anglo Saxon and Celtic coins i suppose they difcult to get in America
Fascinating!!!
