Very few people have the skills to ride waves like this. Sailing Kona’s you have to sail port tack and you don’t get much practice at that, especially on big waves. To us who live in Hawaii, this actually looks like a lot of people. Only south shore on Diamond Head on Oahu do you get port tack on a trade wind, and it’s very crowded with surfers, even on windy days. Only the longtime sailors go there these days. And besides, Maui is still suffering the impact of the fire last October. Tourism in general is down. Can’t expect things to be like days of yore.
Finally a great video of our North Shore and good tunes! Well done!
Delighted that you have captured this on video having seen numerous stills. Well done.
Many thanks!
Beautiful action and video. Nice to see how Hookipa is working lately. Greetings from Sardinia, Italy. Andrea Costa
Thanks for visiting, You live in a beautiful place.
How's the windsurfing in Sardina? I have been to Paros Island and tried sailing in some light winds. I was in Southern Italy last May. I love Italy.
gotta love the Jorma!
👏🏽💪🏽🥰 SO KEWL
Maui north and konas ... no ka oi
Very nice video. But the first rider at 1:06 doesn't looks like using Kona winds.
Good point!
Good action in the Kona winds, just wondering what the windsurfers are doing that aren't pro's
Most of these guys compete. Winds were strong and good size waves, windsurfers pick their days, much like surfing.
Music is a bit strange but nice video
🤙
The first ride was tradewind direction, not Kona conditions.
We had a lot of Kona Winds, but I could have mixed it up.
Where's all the people?
Was big and windy

@@gatesurfer I am a late bloomer with windsurfing. I surf Hookipa, but windsurfing is above my pay grade. Kanaha works.
