That feeling is such a primal scary feeling. I've felt it. If the water wasn't as clear I'd reckon I would've gone in. There's something about clear water that's a comfort. You did well to stay out there by yourself. (I like to have someone else close by, even if it's 50mtrs away)

Just a Grey Nurse hunting Mullet, typical for Bulls , spooky when your the only one out at dusk or dawn, plenty of BIGEN's out there & all kinds especially when bait balls are around.....! About 1km north is the spot though, if there's a westerly blowin can be E for epic 😉
Surfing over a reef in the Bahamas at dusk was the most creeper out I've ever been. All the reef shadows looked like Tigers, but we never saw one. I just couldn't stay in.

They are always there. ima be real. from the drone footage this shark didnt seem to care about you at all. it was not interested. it was hunting rays. Ive also been in the water and had a very large boy surface right in front of me at backline. quite scary. but it probably happens more often than you realize. Everyone says to get out the water. but theres probably a shark almost every time you get in the water haha...

I live on the east coast of Florida. If you’re surfing, there’s a shark within 100 feet of you. Meters, for my overseas brethren. We have big bulls and tigers, but whites are uncommon and the majority of hits are from little black tips. Stitches, usually. Unfortunately we just had a group of swimmers get hit on the gulf coast by presumably a big bull. Teenage girl lost a leg.

However these account for most incidents here and most are minor if ya can call being bitten minor lol 😂 one of my son’s friends was nipped this past October. They surfed 5 hours without incident or even seeing a shark. On his last wave in he hopped off in the trough and stood on a 4’ blacktips tail and got nipped. Bad Luck that’s all! Commercial fishing probably doesn't help by removing accessible shark food from the East coast of Australia and if they get real hungry they tend to chew on other things hopefully not Surfers Next question is can we get biodegradable fins as a lot of bits and pieces end up in the water it is good to see there are other sustainable products coming on to the market Thanks for the great video 🤙
