In my opinion, The mind should not be in the list, it's not an item that is great when you have the lost, it's just a great item, which I think defeats the purpose
I love how this list isn't just "Oh Tech X oh Dead Cat oh this and that good item that everyone wants while playing the lost. Instead there are some really useful items that most people probably don't even pick up on their lost runs. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd take dead cat over glowing hourglass anyday, works similarly enough, but that's just about it. Such an interesting list.
Keltti I value not dying over coming back to life. Which is debatable. Hence why Portal Gin will always be number one. Dead Cat was originally on the list as well in an early draft.
PentaHybrid Oh yeah, ventricle razor is definitely all-in-all one of the top lost items, if not the very best. And honestly a lot better than 9 lives. The infinite teleports out of a room you don't want to be in are incredibly valuable. Just that the glowing hourglass turns into the hourglass after 5 uses (which I actually didn't know before watching this since I barely use the item and it's a recent-ish update to the item lol) makes me value the dead cat more. But yeah, portal gun all the way.
I’ll be perfectly honest. The soul always seems to save my ass. I did a lot of unlocks with the other characters before doing The Lost. So another one would have to be the sensor. Combine the two and the Hush is just slightly easier. Don’t get me started on Delerium. Took a game break to beat that bugger.
i actually managed to kill delirium on a "normal" run, i had mom's knife and dead cat, but that wasnt enough, so i explored the floor and got a magician card, that card carried me to victory.
My list is (without order): - Glowing Hourglass, since now on the last update, it got patched and now it has unlimited uses again. Ventricle Razor is also good. - Glass Cannon - Stop Watch, i usually panic a lot when i lose my holy mantle, and that item lets me to relax and dont mess everything - The Gamekid or My Little Unicorn - Dry baby or, in general, orbitals that block tears Honoral mentions to: Trinity Shield, The Soul, Dead Cat, and Book Of Shadows. i dont like the D10 because it can spawn an enemy that shoots lasers in dead spots that you cant see, translating to lose the holy mantle, and the mind its a good item in general, and i think the list should be about items that are great with the lost, but not so good with other characters.
I might be saying something crazy but, Dead Cat/Nine Lives. It seems to be like a free 8 hits before getting actually killed. For someone clumsy it's nice to know you aren't always gonna die. Still though, it definitely isn't the best as a skilled player shouldn't even require needing to rely on multiple lives but 1 in 3 guppy items is still good.
I also really like jump as the lost, as while jumping you are invincible. This is essentially dodge rolling in isaac which proves very useful against bullethell bosses like hush or mega satan
I like: Infamy, Metal plate, Cone head, Host hat, Pyromaniac, and Gnawed leaf. I think you can see the pattern. ;) I also like Halo of flies and the Soul. Book of Shadows, and Empty vessel are also great. I also love the Wooden Cross trinket and the Holy Card as they stack with Holy Mantle and can allow you to get hit 3 times in a room without dying. (assuming it is your first time getting hit on the floor)
Wouldn't Mom's Box allow for both easier Wooden Cross and two extra hits per floor? Fighting hush as the lost and having four hits would be incredibly cool.
Lost has a half soul heart, but it resets to half a soul heart every mili second, that is why he gets devil rooms for free. You probably already knew this
I don't think putting the mind on the list is fair because it is good on everyone, so with that logic sacred heart, moms knife and other op items should be on here. Great vid btw!
My argument for The Mind with the Lost is that as a character like the Lost, you typically don't full clear. Especially the later floors, so access to getting the stuff you need and leaving is more important as Lost.
If you get taurus and then up your speed you get the effect to proc whenever you enter the room, EXTREMELY helpful for any average room and anything below cathedral (or equivilent level) boss
I think that one of the best items you can get as The Lost is Gnawed Leaf. Specially if you got any sort of orbital or familiar that attacks on their own. That way you can have a slow victory if you get in a dangerous situation.
I managed to Delirium and Greedier mode with the lost multiple times and I always had the stopwatch on me when I did. Even after they nerfed the stopwatch, where now you need to break your holy mantle to trigger its effect its makes everything MUCH easier to avoid.

I'd say The Soul is fantastic as it can deflect shots. I've lost many a run from stumbling into a projectile by accident, so I know for a fact how appealing that item sounds :D
Pro Tip: If you play Antibirth, the Lost already has Holy Mantle, D4 and Spectral Tears. This is INSANELY good, because you can actually unlock Godhead with it. Speaking of Antibirth: There are some really powerful items that carry your run alone. My favorite was Oculus Rift, available in the devil deal. Based on your luck stat, it will fire a portal tear randomly, that forms a void which sucks in enemies. If you play the Lost, you get the Perfection trinket after 4 floors, because you can't get hit anyways. This will up your luck to 10, meaning you'll fire a portal tear everytime you shoot. It's so fucking great, when I did completion marks as the Lost in Antibirth, 2 of 4 runs were carried by this item.
Personally my favourite item not just for The Lost, but for everybody is Circle of Protection. It feels like playing to a beat, and it is so good offensively and defensively.
Penta I think that SOME of the best lost items (not trying to dis your opinions) are any items that give you more lives (nine lives in particular) and the other good damage upgrades (Polyphemus, mom's knife, shop refresh and double steam sale)
5 best lost items in general (for me) 1. Pyromaniac/ Host hat/ any Bomb immunity 2. Dead cat/1 up/extra lives item 3. Any orbital to block out tears 4. Bursting sack (because you’re more likely to die in a room filled with spiders compared to anything else) 5. Gnawed leaf (if you have familiars you can just stand there and they can do the work Basically anything that provides protection or insurance without using an active item because I would have to move my finger towards the button just to activate it and I don’t want to slip and mess up

For me, Glowing Hour Glass used to be a better item for The Lost before the Booster Packs introduced *Door Stop.* Glowing Hour Glass does still have it's uses for the sake of teleporting out of the room, but about 8 out of 10 times I'd say Door Stop does an equally good job, can do it infinitely and doesn't need even those few charges to activate. A personal must-have is *Dead Cat.* It's a pretty obvious choice. It's the kind of item that won't always work out with standard characters, but eliminating it's risk and keeping the reward should effectively give you immunity to death by bullshit with The Lost and even past that, The Lost is just that kind of character, that can fail even when you're on the top of the world. It's also a step towards the Guppy transformation, which most often should be taken when given the chance. Speaking of no risk, all reward, *Cursed Eye* is at it's best with The Lost. I can't remember if the teleportation goes off when the mantle takes a hit, but even disregarding the possibility of bailing from terrible situations, the burst-fire tears give you alot of power on more mediocre runs and can be a deciding factor on whether you live long enough to pick up that Epic Fetus down the line. When all is said and done though, *Gnawed Leaf* can't be beat. It does require a degree of setup with an orbital or chaser, but let's be honest, that ain't too difficult to accomplish. No shit, one of my runs with The Lost was beat with a me standing still, while Succubus bounced across the room killing everything with a not inconsiderable DPS at that moment.
What about Judas’s Shadow and Lazarus’s Rags? Once you die you immediately gain the ability to get health. And with JS you get extra damage. And dead cat gives you a definite 9 chances at survival!
I don't think the D10 should be here. It may allow you to occasionally turn Bomb Leeches and Brim Ghosts into flies, but more often than not you get red ghosts and Walking hosts. I think it's spot should've been occupied by Cone Head or Infamy.

Because every damn time a have some really good items, I else die with the key pieces/get out of jail free card/daddy's key or don't even have them and finish... The boss fight itself is not really the hardest, but getting the key pieces and missing 9 FUCKING CAT LIVES IN THE DEVIL ROOM, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO and miss other really good items too is just so hard! >:/ And something else sad? I don't have anything unlocked with greed! XD Now I'm from mobile, but I saved the seed on the PC. Gonna post it later and Penta, it's a GREAT SEED and you get some of the most powerful items in that one run.
Is it sad that I haven't unlocked lost yet I'm in afterbirth and have had times where I got missing poster but they where always on runs that I didn't want to lose as they where good enough that they would be ruined by the lost
Isnt one of the best lost items Gnawed Leaf? Granted, it needs something to actually do work, at least an Orbital. But that something tends to be easy to get and, while boring, Gnawed Leaf can save many lost runs. Gnawed Leaf can be pretty fun, too. It all depends on how you use it. No item has a great a synergy with Netflix as Gnawed Leaf.
What a shame you didnt mention Goat Head 1-4 more items per florr IS A LOT, and items like Death´s Touch, Brimstone, Guppy items (Dead Cat and the transformation mainly), Incubus, Succubus, Whore of Babylon (which is also great) and so on
He is playable without holy mantle. It's just a high skill (and a bit luck dependent) playstyle. There are many players that got all the Lost completion marks in Rebirth.

I beat everything on rebirth with these 3 items (not including holy mantel) brimstone,moms contact (freeze shot) and 9 lives guppy helps a lot to.

Is it sad that I haven't unlocked lost yet I'm in afterbirth and have had times where I got missing poster but they where always on runs that I didn't want to lose as they where good enough that they would be ruined by the lost

Isnt one of the best lost items Gnawed Leaf? Granted, it needs something to actually do work, at least an Orbital. But that something tends to be easy to get and, while boring, Gnawed Leaf can save many lost runs.
Gnawed Leaf can be pretty fun, too. It all depends on how you use it. No item has a great a synergy with Netflix as Gnawed Leaf.
Gnawed leaf+damage dealing orbital=ez win
=boring win.

What a shame you didnt mention Goat Head 1-4 more items per florr IS A LOT, and items like Death´s Touch, Brimstone, Guppy items (Dead Cat and the transformation mainly), Incubus, Succubus, Whore of Babylon (which is also great) and so on
Continuum for better keep away games, and D20 to turn all the worthless heart drops that will come up constantly into something tangibly useful
dead cat saves me everytime and i think that you do not need hourglass on second becouse you have better item for first spot

Holy Mantle, because without it he's basically unplayable.
He is playable without holy mantle. It's just a high skill (and a bit luck dependent) playstyle. There are many players that got all the Lost completion marks in Rebirth.
