My first playthrough of F3 was a horror experience. Everything felt spooky, enemies were always getting the jump on me, places were dark and musty, dead bodies everywhere, the cannibals, the vampires, Point Lookout and The Pitt. All of it gave me horror impressions.
The 1st time I played this , it was on a friends save file, I attacked the residents of Megaton, then saved over their only recent save file... good way to end a friendship.
The thing that really breaks fallout 3’s difficulty is Broken Steel’s added enemies which are atrociously tanky. Feral ghoul reavers, super mutant overlords, enclave hellfire troopers, and albino radscorpions all have an egregious amount of health and defense. The albino radscorpions in particular are everywhere, use very strong poison that goes completely through your armor, are faster than you (so you can’t outrun them, even if you cripple their legs), and often times attack you in pairs. Worst enemy Bethesda has ever added.

I like that you are playing Fallout 3 again. I played the game for the first time back in 2015. Despite all the Fallout games I’ve played after that, Fallout 3 plays a big space in my heart; the menu music always give me goosebumps. I wish you to do more Fallout 3 gameplays. I know New Vegas is regarded as the superior, and while I enjoy New Vegas a lot, I truly yearn for Fallout 3 gameplay.
Cope nv the best, literally fallout3 but did better in EVERY aspect or at least 98% of it, can’t even deny that can’t even put into words how f3 is better. Story ain’t better guns and better gameplay ain’t better speech checks n all that are stupid on fallout 3. lol don’t get it must be nostalgia
I like it as no matter what guides I follow or things installed my 3 still won't run even after the newest update. Reminds me of my childhood to watch him play 3
God the music of the wood whistle and the flute that started when you were fighting those first raiders just gave me so much nostalgia. Love 3 so much. Played it so much in college.
1:25:02 almost every weapon in fallout 3 has it's purpose, and chinese pistol provides an alternative to 10MM pistol in regards to the fact that it is a lot more durable (by double, if i recall correctly). That is why it mostly appears only during the start of the game (even though i still think that they should've give it a little bit more damage, just so it would be worth using in the long run and so it damage value wouldn't be on par with fkin BB Gun). BUT i said that almost every weapon, and the real question is - what purpose does .32 pistol serve? i mean it has a different caliber, sure, but this caliber at the same time shared with hunting rifle, which is also pretty common at the start of the game, making it not worth using. Also it has one of the lowest damage values in the entire game. In comparison to other pistols it just worse in every way than 10mm, which we get at the start and then find in every place possible. It is heavier, cheaper, more costly in regards of ammo and action points and at the same time it doesn't give player any advantages over other pistols in the game. Personally i think that they should've given it less AP cost and higher critical damage, (i.e. right now 10MM pistol has 17 AP, .32 has 20 AP, and instead of this reduce AP cost on .32 pistol in half, and buff it's Critical damage to slightly outpower 10mm's critical damage), which would make it a niche usable weapon for vats build. (ofc it's only from a balancing point, im not talking about lore-specific or coolness factors of the weaponry)
The durability of the chinese pistol does'nt matter if it takes 2 times the ammo to kill something vs the 10 mil... i'm sure it's there as a statment that chinese stuff is crap compared to american built.
At the birthday you can follow the Overseer out of the party area and he or the guard he meets with will have Stimpacks on them. Even if you get caught you keep them.
This is the one challenge I know for a fact I can dominate and it's not even intentional. Ever since my first playthrough of FO3 I always forced myself to play Very Hard because of the stupid decision to make XP scale with your game difficulty.
how is that stupid, games should always give you more XP for playing on a harder difficulty and less Xp for playing on Easier difficulty. if the game doesnt reward skill then its pointless to have a difficulty change, if enemies are harder to kill you deserve more reward for the kill
Listening to Abraham in Rivet City talk about retrieving the Declaration of Independence will never not remind me of Septimus in Skyrim sending us off for blood and an Elder Scroll.
A game called Drakan The Ancient Gates had the best durability system. Equipment lasted a long time and was cheap to repair, but every time you repaired, the max durability decreased. I feel that could work well in Fallout. I liked the durability system, but is was a bit much in Fallout 3.
This was my first. I went to a friend's on Christmas day and his brother was trying to kill a group of raiders with a baseball bat, this was like a couple months maybe after release. He nearly did it till one popped out of nowhere and launched a missile. I managed to get through them all and I felt immortal. That was it. HOOKED. I played it for years nonstop. Then new vegas became my favourite game ever made!
Leave Black Pea Eyes in the past please, yes I messed up the name on purpose it’s been literally over 10 years since my ears bled from such atrocities. 😂

New theory, kids in the fallout universe age at their own pace. Think about it, "I can believe how fast she is growing up" your father says "I can't believe you are already 10, I'm so proud of you" almost as if you are aging faster than the average kid. 0 holes, only facts and logic
For the longest time I was led to believe that cow tipping in fo3/nv was a mod and not an actual part of the game because it never seemed to be the sort of thing you’d think they’d just have as a feature and it’s mainly because nobody has really made videos on them without mods
Can confirm at least on 360 that Fallout 3 crashes more than anything I've ever played. I'm under the impression it was nearly as bad on pc. I dealt with so many of the glitches where there is a point in the distance that the screen seems to stretch giant triangles to unless you fast travel away and quit. And Fallout 3 instilled in me such a fear of saving every 30 minutes and always having two save files.
@@nickjoseph77 All modern fallout games (3, New Vegas, and 4) play absolutely atrociously on consoles. Downtown Boston in fallout 4 in particular is absolutely atrocious. I have no idea how they got away with releasing the games in these states…
I’m not sure what copy of fo3 u got but I just recently replayed the entirety of fo3 on my (at least 12 to 13 year old) Xbox 360 because I was feeling a little nostalgic and not once did I have a issue with it except for a few frame drops. I was even using exploits and glitches and not one crash. I also never really had a problem with fallout new Vegas or 4. Tbf I haven’t played new Vegas since like 2015 and haven’t played 4 in years also so idk how they are working atm but when I played them I never had a problem.
@@artoholic_2660 Fallout 3’s problems usually lie in long term play, especially when you have a bunch of saves or a long term playthrough, but I will say it’s issues are more bug related than crash related. In its final game of year edition form though I would say it’s probably the most stable of the three games by far. New Vegas’s issues are more crash related imo, if it’s not crashes due to memory leaks, it’s infinite loading screens or the occasional bricked save. Removing the rose tinted glasses, I can imagine that playing it on launch was a miserable experience, and there’s no ignoring the fact that it was a very “held together by string” game in an engine that was already very jury rigged together to make it an FPS. PS3 is where it REALLY shows though, performance in some areas is consistently awful and loading screens are long no matter where you go. Fallout 4’s issues are just all over the map, I truly think the only reason it gets away with it is because it has so few quests and dialogue sections that can break in truly “game breaking” ways in the first place. Downtown Boston barely runs in my experience and this was before the whole recent patch fiasco.
@ ah ok, I guess I’m lucky then because from what I can remember I’ve rarely had an issue with any of the games in all the hundreds of hours combined with all all 3. I will add tho I had to rebuy a copy of fo3 because I couldn’t find my original copy but this time I bought it digitally so maybe that’s why I didn’t experience any issues.
the difficulty only increases/ decreases enemy HP and damage - even on normal difficulty, enemies take multiple headshots to kill with most guns. I increase damage output on all guns in the GECK for F3 and NV, greatly helps reduce the sponginess. Balancing around the ammo (same caliber guns dealing similar damage) doesn't make much sense in F3 though ):
I just remember on very hard, mutant masters and stuff were brutal. Headshots, good stats, and gear didn't matter. You needed a million ammo, to win. And ah yes oblivion on very hard. The memories of dying to the sewer rat pack boss.
I only ever play fallout 3 on very hard is it really that bad? I know generally how many bullets it takes to handle different enemies and what enemy's are in certain locations along with how many. I actually added a higher mob or enemy spawn mod because i wanted it to be a bit more life or death.

followed by smaller swamp guys that eat 20-40% of ur hp in 1-2 shots
