I watched Ghostbusters with my father the other night. I thought he would love it. When it was over, he said it was "a silly movie", that all the characters were "too wacky", and that he couldn't understand the humor. I cried inside.
Ryan Yeager Maybe but I doubt it. He is one of the nicest guys you could meet if he complained he was probably just making light of it. He's done weird stuff like crashing complete strangers weddings and showing up to fund raisers he would be asked to attend by people he didn't know just to be cool and help out. VERY eccentric but extremely gracious believe it or not. My proof is I'm from California. and we all know movie stars;)
Here are a few extra ones. Originally Dan Akyroyd asked Eddie Murphy to be in this film when they were shooting Trading Places. Murphy politely declined cause he thought the film would flop. Also Murphy was supposed to play Winston and get slimed at the hotel not Murry. . And Murphy has said he regrets not doing Ghostbusters. Speaking of who should have been it. Chevy Chase was offered the role of both Peter Venkman and Egon Spegler. Chevy also refused and said the script he had was much darker then what we saw. The Restaurant where Lois runs too actually had a party in there. The party was for Debbie Gibbson. Harold Ramis had no interest in playing Egon. Only reason he did it was cause he felt no one could play Egon the right way. Speaking of Stay Puft. Originally he was supposed to appear out of the water next to the Statue Of Liberty. Just to show you how huge he really was. That plan was scrapped due to budget. William Antherton hated playing Walter Peck. In some interviews he claims when he went to a bar for a beer a lot of people would come up to him and ask if he has no D**K. Supposedly Bill Murry never really ad libbed as many lines as people think. Winston actually was supposed to be at the beging of the film when he got introduced. Paul Reubens was supposed to play Gozer. However for whatever reason he didn't. But that's where this line comes from. "It's a girl."" It's Gozer." "I thought Gozer was a man." Supposedly Ron Jeremy has a cameo. He's supposed to be in front of the building where the boys in gray walk in front of to fight Gozer.
Winston was supposed to have a huge back story and be much more developed. Ernie Hudson came in prepared to play that character. Instead he got a severely cut co-starring role. He’s always expressed disappointment about it.
There is a conflicting report from one of the earliest sources of GB trivia, the 1985 book Making Ghostbusters, which says that both man-on-the-street reporter Roy Brady AND the onlooking hippie passerby were actors cast in those roles. (Page 93.) Also, the Rockefeller Center security guard who was chasing them cannot be seen in the finished film, despite the commentary track's claims, but he CAN be briefly glimpsed in the specific footage used in the teaser trailer.

I understand the addition for another movie even though you were a star in another. When My crew and I made our film project for the film class we had an actress who we worked with before but we had her addition and she got the part of the lead.
If you take a Carriage ride in Philly they tell you one of the apartment buildings is the building they used at 4:40 in this video. I wonder if it is true.
I'll bet Ernie Hudson complained the least about the heavy prop. He strikes me as a consummate professional. Plus, look at the shape he's still in at his age.

On the commentary track, Ivan Reitman tells Harold Ramis he was the one who complained the least. Mind you, Harold was the only one of the four actors present at the time.
Plus, his character, Winston Zeddemore, who appeared much later on in the film, was only one of four actors who got to wore the pack the least amount of time throughout the film's final shooting!
Two things that you forgot to add was 1.They started adding the CGI shots before the movie even got green lighted. 2.During test screenings they did not finish the CGI so when we see the marshmallow man in the movie the test screen people saw nothing.
I remember seeing a video like this a while ago that also pointed out a subtle gag a lot of people don't notice. How did they happen to have the exact blueprints they needed to talk about, while in a jail cell.
Apparently, during a read-through of the script, Bill Murray all of a sudden clued into the fact that Slimer (then called Onionhead in the script) was a reference to John Belushi, and said, "Oh I get it, He's supposed to be John Belushi, right Dan?". The room went silent.

So what you are saying is that roasting a marshmallow with crossed streams proton packs will inevitably turn said marshmallow into shaving cream...considering the price of shaving cream and the much cheaper price of marshmallows, this tactic could potentially help save some money (once you cancel out the cost of the proton packs that is).
Slimer was also originally called "Onionhead Ghost". Also, The Stay-Puft Marshmellow man's appearance was a combination of Michelin Tires mascot "Bibendum", The Pillsbury doughboy "Poppin' Fresh", and Donald Duck.

the only problem with the reboot wasn't the film it was how they insulted those who bashed the trailers and that dreaded fall out boy and missy Elliot doing the ghostbusters song but I am glad that it was reduced by 1 min and the other problem was Amy Pascal wanted total control and not letting Reitman have the creative input and Paul Feig turned it down several of times but Pascal threatened him with an law suit so he had no choice to do it on one condition that was being having control on the casting hence Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy and following the tradition of the original by having SNL alums casted for the film with the likes of Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon .but it suffered with the batman and robin curse by failing.
