I feel like I need the less sodium version. Because my only complaint with Spam is that it is too salty. It's like salt pork. And I'm not a salt person. I don't even salt my food half the time, and I never salt meat because meat is naturally salty to my tastebuds.

@CasualKing21 the tocino spam is damn good. I can eat a whole can, but I can't say that about my other preferred flavor which is the less sodium. Tocino spam is great to have on hand to make a filipino breakfast. The teriyaki is great, too. It makes a delicious musubi.

When eating straight up, I actually like the SPAM Lite more than normal SPAM, but when it's chopped up in rice, normal SPAM is definitely better. Turkey SPAM is also kinda mid straight up, but in rice it's pretty good. Bacon SPAM in rice topped with eggs is an S-tier breakfast, for me. Frankly, I'm at the point where I think, "Why go to a fast food place when I could just crack open a can of SPAM?"
my personal "favorite" is the hot and spicy but his descriptor of it being limited in use is spot on. it goes so perfectly dumped into a lot of the spicy ramens I enjoy but i use regular spam for everything else.
The best part of this was hearing your interactions with your wife. The second best was noticing how so many of these products, especially the nuts, were explicitly marketed towards Hawaii which is famously crazy for Spam.
SPAM has that unfortunate reputation of being "cheap and disgusting" kind of food. If you can look past that, I think you can really appreciate it. Something as simple as Spam and rice goes a long way. If you have a local Hawaiian joint nearby you, I recommend going there first as they really know how to utilize Spam the best.

This video reminded me that my mom used to put diced, fried spam in her scalloped potatoes and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top, then bake it. It was the best thing ever I miss eating that so much. I'm definitely going to make that myself one of these days, I totally forgot about that.

"Tocino" is Spanish bacon. The "c" gets pronounced like an "s". Worth noting that "tocino" of this form is also hugely popular in the Philippines, despite not being a Spanish-speaking country.
I really love all the times SungWon just happy danced during this video. It's nice to see him have a good time with one of these and not having any stinkers.
I'm from Hawaii, and yes I love spam. There is a Portuguese Sausage Spam, but it's only sold in Hawaii and sadly I don't live there anymore. I have been buying the Bacon version of Spam, but sometimes I get the Tocino too. Spam, eggs and rice is the go to spam meal, and then spam fried rice if I have a lot of left over rice! :D

Grew up eating normal fried spam. As i grew up and started cooking on my own, i realized that the spam light was good if you wanted to add your own fats and salt. My go to recipe is cook the spam light as you normaly would, but add in some celery salt(and msg if you want) paprika, and pepper to taste, along with your fat of choice. This could be your choice of butters, bacon grease, or if you are fancy you can use some wagyu beef tallow.
I hated on spam until I actually tried it by making Spam musubi for the first time. Now a Costco-sized set of it lives in my pantry, ready for musubi, donburi, or anything else that strikes my fancy. When prepared well it's delicious!
Literally a breath of fresh air episode. I’m happy to see a food review that sungwon really likes. I don’t think I’ve ever tried it myself but considering it’s a cheaper and filling protein option I’ll probs consider looking into now.
As a pure Filipino myself I too love the Tocino Spam especially with some fresh steamy white rice mixed with some of that sunny side up egg yolk goodness mmhm! Boy, just when I thought Spam couldn’t get any better 🇵🇭🤤🫘🍚🍳
I grew up in Hawaii where spam is like...a breakfast, lunch, and dinner staple and it was always so good and I love it. I briefly lived in Mississippi where everybody I knew hated it and then I found it was because most of them ate spam raw with mayo on a sandwich, which like...sure. Like none of them had EVER tried cooking it before.
I prefer this kind of Lets Try over the restaurant menu ones.....I find it fascinating how far the ratings and the flavor profiles of a single group of products can span(m)
Oh he looks so happy! This video gave me a lot of vicarious joy. I'm a big fan of Spam as well, while they were raising me, my grandparents would often have pan fried Spam sandwiches for lunch or dinner, and my grandmother is still a huge fan of Spam musubi. I've been in a pretty rough mood and watching this was surprising uplifting.
I saw the maple one and just knew it would be ❤❤❤ I always liked dipping sausages in maple syrup as a kid, and I still do it now. Will look for that and the Tocino flavors when I’m grocery shopping again…
Now I'm curious how he would like regular Filipino tocino. In other news, after trying jalapeno spam, I haven't went back to any other flavor. jalapeno spam is king imo.
Oh boy! Spam! Which is a lot less grim then people make it out to be, but definitely benefits the most from being prepared properly. The hubsando has a particular, nostalgic affection for it, so this amuses me.
My paternal grandmother was Swedish-American and part of the WACs in WW2. She introduced me to spam, always served it fried with scrambled eggs and toast. My grandpa would groan whenever she cooked it, but I freaking loved it. As an adult I found out about Budae-jjigae and Spam Musubi. Honestly don't know which version I prefer. All freaking S tier. Spam heads unite!
Spam is actually quite nice. I will say, the low sodium version is preferable to the waaaay too salty original. That being said, people hate on Spam for being low quality mystery meat, but the ingredient list is actually very straightforward. Plot twist: it is almost entirely just pork, and like 3 or 4 other things.
Straight up, my favorite thing to do with the Teriyaki one (the RARE times I actually grab a can of Spam as a guilty pleasure of sorts ar the store) is to get also some Hamburger buns, soy sauce and pineapple rings, cook the Spam and pineapple with a little ot the soy sauce on medium-low to medium heat in a frying pan, and when done, transfer the spam and pineapple ring slice on top of the spam to the heel (bottom) hamburger bun and place the crown (top) hamburger bon atop it. I think Hormel even (or they DEFINITELY used to) referred to that as an idea for what they call(ed) a “Spamburger”.
So glad my man loves spam! It's great fried with some rice and nori but I honestly love it straight outta the can on some untoasted bread. After being burned by flavored corned beef I've been too scared to try other Spam varieties.. I trust SungWon to steer me right.
the timing of this video is wild because we just started selling gochujang spam at costco. i personally think it's a B+ if i'm ever in the mood for light gochujang flavor but it is very light. if you prefer a stronger flavor, i'd add more gochujang and/or mix it with brown sugar soy sauce to give it a sweeter side.
So awesome to see you actually enjoy one of these - this was so much better than the last few where you just look miserable. 😂 I would love to see you do more like this.

LOVELY SPAAAM, WONDERFUL SPAAAAAAAMMMMM
This video is like the good cop to The Grumps’ video’s bad cop
I'm so happy for the Tocino representation. It really is an S-Tier spam (especially when cooked and with garlic rice)
As a Hawaiian, I am also a spam head. This video is exactly what I’ve been waiting for.
I only ever liked bacon flavoured. It is nice to see you enjoy yourself for once in one of these, lol.
I prefer this kind of Lets Try over the restaurant menu ones.....I find it fascinating how far the ratings and the flavor profiles of a single group of products can span(m)
Man’s experiencing pure joy 😂
tocino on breakfast meats is a thing in filipino food. given how much we like chicken and waffles in america, you'd think tocino would explode here
Oh he looks so happy!
This is by far the most positive rating video I’ve ever seen
I saw the maple one and just knew it would be ❤❤❤
I always liked dipping sausages in maple syrup as a kid, and I still do it now.
Fried spam is the way to go! That's the best way cook it.
So glad my man loves spam! It's great fried with some rice and nori but I honestly love it straight outta the can on some untoasted bread. After being burned by flavored corned beef I've been too scared to try other Spam varieties.. I trust SungWon to steer me right.
As a fellow SPAM lover, I consider this your best video ever.
SungWon dancing while eating spam is a total vibe 😂
Is this the first time he's gotten through all the products in one sitting? What a passion project! lol
Wow, this is perfect for Chuseok! Something to think about for the Chuseok gift boxes of Spam.
the timing of this video is wild because we just started selling gochujang spam at costco. i personally think it's a B+ if i'm ever in the mood for light gochujang flavor but it is very light. if you prefer a stronger flavor, i'd add more gochujang and/or mix it with brown sugar soy sauce to give it a sweeter side.
Really glad to see you enjoy one of these ranking videos way more since most of the stuff you ate today seemed to be pretty good c:
So awesome to see you actually enjoy one of these - this was so much better than the last few where you just look miserable. 😂 I would love to see you do more like this.
This is such a great series, and this is my favorite video so far!! 😆
1:46 accidentally batman
I see it 😂
I miss him eating in his room alone like a mad man, but I do really enjoy the addition of people, particularly his wife. It is more entertaining and feels like a natural evolution.
If you haven't been to the Spam Museum in Minnesota you are missing out! I don't even eat Spam and I enjoyed it!
Currently making a spam musubi inspired rice bowl and put this on in the background. Perfect timing.
Best Korean Thanksgiving gift is the gift box of spam tins. We get them re-gifted from friends and family and treasure them. It's soooooo good and an essential part of many dishes. ❤
Koreans love spam. If you ever get your hands on a can of korean made spam, they claim to use pork loin instead of separated pork parts. So fancy.
