AOR DV-1 is a good bit of kit and works well in the U.K. In its most basic AUTO mode it will identify whatever digital mode is coming in and decode the audio automatically. Works good on D-STAR, DMR and dPMR which are the only digital modes active around me.
I have the whistler trx2 and it works fine in the uk. Dmr quality is execelent ive had no problems at all with the radio and you can upload frequencies via txt file easily.
On Anytone DigiMon, will it display the color code, slot, ID etc so I can program and talk back to them? Or program a Motorola? Or will the GD77 or ? do what I want?
Thanks once again. Must confess, never went down the digital rabbit whole. Sad to say I am only using analog on my FT-817. (70cm & 2M) How do you think I should dip my toes into digital.? Pitty I live in the valley part of Thames Valley/M4 corridor. Take care - 73
I first used a md380 clone radio and got nothing out of it . Got more out of the anytone radio 878 but need a raspberry pi to hear any digital transmissions on ham radio but most of the time the radio is in analog as it’s easier to use
Great video Jez. Just found it, wish I'd known this before I bought an analogue scanner. Seems to be mostly dpmr around me. Do you know if the 878 will do the same as you've demonstrated here? Thanks.
Realistic pro2042 im. So bored of. Pilots nothing active anymore its all dmr would you suggest something cheap for. Me. Please i got the outside aeriel aswell thanks
If your radio ham you could go for a anytone 868 as you can decode dmr with out needing to no the colour code etc . If not a lot cheaper option would be to use Realtek dongle 2830 rtl there about £15 and then you can install dsd plus and after a bit setting up you should be good to go decoding dmr
Can this Anytone scan the DMR frequence using Dual Capacity Direct Mode( Dual time slot )? My whistler trx2 can't scan the Dual time slot digital frequence.

nice , but its very slow at scanning ..is their a way to make it go faster ? its like 25-30 minutes to go from 400mhz to 500 mhz
I have 878 and it’s ok scanning,
I like the GD77 with open firmware better only need a freq and it scans super fast like a real scanner or faster
@dougsbrat
I have 868 and the scanning quite slow alright. Does the open GD77 FW detect color code automatically ?
I’ll look into the gd77 radio is that radioodty?
@@2j4ez yes
@@humaxf1 yes if you tell it to, similar to 878

Cheers dougsbrat. I have a baofeng 1801 on order from aliexpress. Will load the FW whenever it arrives

As long as you set digmon on and to monitor any cc and any id you can use it as a dmr scanner
868/878 all the way although the HD1 build quality is very good!
My hd1 sounds like I’m moving the antenna all the time on tx apart from that it works ok

The analog one might be able to be discriminator tapped for digital modes.
Whats AnyTone's model?
It’s the 868
@@2j4ez Thank you
yea the price tag is to high , il pay 40 at most lol
