    I was born in that hospital in November of 1993. Been in there a few times for friends and family who were in there at times. This video explains the erie, uncomfortable feeling id get whenever i was in there.

    This is a hella scary place. My mother gave birth to twins at St. Elizabeth Hospital. After she was sent home she passed a huge clot (actually a piece of the placenta which had been left inside) and began hemorrhaging. My dad called the hospital begging for an emergency ambulance but they wouldn't send one (he later discovered the doctor who'd delivered my twin sisters forbade it to protect his professional reputation - WTH). Northside Hospital refused to send an ambulance also. My mother was bleeding out on the bathroom floor and my desperate father called the local funeral home. The owner jumped in his ambulance with his helper, picked her up and rushed her to Northside. She had to have transfusions to save her life, but they gave her the wrong type of blood which nearly killed her. She was hospitalized for a long time. She told us years later that the hospital had an eerie vibe, but wouldn't tell us what she'd experienced there.

    I have spent considerable time inside Northside Hospital over the passed few years. Most of the time in the original part working on the mechanicals of the buildings. I’ve never felt uneasy in there and I usually worked alone in the bowels of the buildings that most people don’t see. Some of the people who worked in there with me had claimed to see and experience shall we say odd things but I can say I never did. I can’t say I walked every square inch of the hospital but I’ve seen the majority of it at one time or another. Perhaps I’m not sensitive to these kind of things. I always entered in the back where you said the carriages brought the sick in the old days. The last time I was there a few weeks ago I was actually working right near the area where you were peeking through the door down in that small courtyard area with the bench. I actually went out through that door to have a cigarette. In case anyone’s wondering, the inside of the buildings are actually still in very good shape considering how long this place has been closed down.

    I worked there for over 3 decades and left in 2010 as I seen horrible things coming and moved on to much better things. It was a shame what happened to this hospital. 2 major things made that hospital close.....EXTREMELY BAD MANAGEMENT FROM THE TOP DOWN TO THE NURSES UNION GOING ON STRIKE IN 2000. They bankrupted that hospital with their greed. I watched that strike every day and how they behaved on the picket line......TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. They didn't care. If that hospital had DECENT SMART MANAGMENT it would still be productive today.....trust me.

      Agree. I'm an RN but it was total greed. I trained there In early 80's on 3 w and 2 n .awesome then. I applied, never hired .looking back it was a blessing as I would have lost my house w 2 lengthy strikes

    I was at this hospital for 35 days in 1991. I had zero problems, and have a fond memory of my time there and the many people I met.

    My mother, my sister and myself worked at the hospital. Myself, my sister, my son my nephews were all born here. My sister had a hard fight after birth after she almost died of a staph infection which was running through the nursery.

      @@DrPatTucciSteward and forum were jokes. And nurses w these contracts .I loved it in early 80's in clinicals,(ysu,). I did agency in2005ish??? It was awful .I was treated like shit in.medical.icu and 1 nw. Telemetry. Said we were paid too much! Really?? We had NO vacation or benefits. They did. They bitched if mandated if working short. So what other option . obviously not going to hire more nurses so I felt we were helping short term?? I quickly left. Even the supervisors ( who had to sign our "slip". I was over 10 minutes and she wanted to know "why" well first of all I had to walk a good distance and lost in new place. I told her bluntly I can care less about 10 min .just mark 730 pm. Awful people later on .before it was great

    What's the deal with Northside? Does Stewart still own it? If not who?

    • @r.severn7479
      @r.severn7479 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm going to say Medical Properties Trust, because Steward was to turn all properties over to MPT as part of the bankruptcy proceedings. Trumbull County tax parcel viewer as of 9-17-24 says MPT of Youngstown-Steward LLC., 1000 URBAN CENTER DR, BIRMINGHAM AL 35242. 500 Gypsy Lane, 17.5 acres, value assessed $711,900 buildings and land in 2023. It was $2.6 million in 2021 and earlier. You can click on Report and get far more detail.

      Stewart still owns it but it's part of a bankruptcy settlement.
