Awesome. I watched this video about 5 years ago, along with many other top speed videos. And now I watched it again :-) It's great to see how far Joe's channel has come into rebuilding old bikes and getting them in top shape 👍
Same, I used to watch this when I was grade 8 or so and I just bought a bike at 19. I’m trying to learn how to work on bikes and learning a lot from this channel and appreciate how calm they are when a problem occurs, unlike me lol.

What's up. I have the same bike 81 but yours is the nicest one I have seen. This 81 really is special. Has no power valve,reeds mounted inside yet this bike just rips.
According to Dirt Wheels magazine, the Yamaha Banshee, when it first came out back in '87-88 had a top speed of 74mph. It was a 350cc two stroke 4 wheeler.

I had a 99 RM 125 I bought new and it was a great bike I regret selling it every day. Put a Pro-Circuit pipe and silencer on it and it sounds so crisp and badass

Thats pretty quick, I've had my wr450 at 96mph but that was perfect conditions and a bigger bike

By Honda Cr80 is also a 99. 2 strokes idle higher there’s nothing wrong with it and yes they back down some when warm. I hadn’t rode my bike in 2 months and I thought Is this really a cold idle but then I reved it and it all came back to me.

Never owned a Suzuki rm125 remember having a shot of a mates rm125 and it was quicker than my Honda cr125

Factory jetting may be lean for extended WFO in 6th gear. You will not like the results if it seizes at 70+, believe me, I experienced this. 😁

You should get the app called that racing channel it tel you how quickly you got the speed as well quarter mile time etc.. I know it's on the App Store not sure about android but it would be a great app for this!

if you get your gearing right and put a heavier sprocket in the front and a lighter one in the back it will go a little faster and get the gearing right

Any idea why my rm125 feels like the front tire is bouncing sometimes when I'm hitting high speed on the street? The bounce feeling has turned into front wheel death wobble a few times now because of the bounce. Idk if the tube has goo in it if that could make it unbalanced or if a bent wheel of what.....?

u should do rm 125 vs duccati
Did you upgrade anything on the bike
Pull the clutch up when slowing down. No gas = no oil to the piston/cylinder, no need to change the piston so soon then, also it could blow up due to not getting lubrication. Also repairing clutch doesn't cost as much as a engine. I guess you already know all this. :P
selludeddu now they need to rebuild it though haha. I gave up trying to tell them not to engine brake . He talked about it in a video and doesn't think it does any harm. so he uses shit oil and engine brakes all the time and so does Charlie. Guess they haven't seen the videos of guys blowing up their friends new dirtbikes because they went from 4 stroke to a 2stroke and didn't know not to engine brake. You can down shift if you have the throttle open like half or so the needle is out of the main jet and getting some lube. Not relying on just the pilot jet while the engine is spinning 8000rpm.
Andrew Bartleman i mean, theres a time and a place for everything. sure if you're blasing by at 70mph/8k rpm and you engine brake, no shit youll hurt something. but engine braking when You're in the trails at slow speed, it really isnt that bad

Yep. 2 strokes are the fastest top end. 74mph is the top speed of a new CRF250R.

when you fang down the road let off fully and roll for ages the top end isnt getting any lube haha
