      Anja ich habe eine Frage an Dich. Also ich weiß, alle Automarken sind maskulin ( der Mercedes, der Audi, der Opel, der Tesla) und alle Motorradmarken sind feminin ( die Kawasaki, die Harley, die Triumph). Und jetzt kommt die Frage. Wenn Du sagst " Ich bin mit dem BMW gekommen." Das bedeutet Du meinst das Auto. Und " Ich bin mit der BMW gekommen" Du meinst das Motorrad. Weil BMW produziert sowohl die Autos als auch die Motorräder. Habe ich das richtig mit den Artikeln verstanden?🤔🤔🤔🙈

    • @chriss3030
      @chriss3030 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elena3687 der Wagen is masculine, and das Auto is neutral, but in the dative case both the masculine and neutral nouns in the singular form use the same definite article: dem, when following the dative preposition: mit.

    • @chriss3030
      @chriss3030 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elena3687 you wrote it correctly as mit dem BMW, but der changes to dem in the dative case. No doubt you already know this.

    • @chriss3030
      @chriss3030 7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      you only need to know the different genders for the singular forms, because the plural articles are all the same in each case.
      nominative singular - definite articles (the)
      der - for masculine nouns, die - for feminine nouns, das - for neutral nouns, plural definite article for all is - die
      singular:
      der Mann = the man, die Frau = the woman, das Kind = the child ( the kid)
      plural:
      die Männer = the men, die Frauen = the women, die Kinder = the children (the kids)
      indefinite areticles (a / an):
      ein - for masculine nouns , eine - for feminine nouns, ein - for neutral nouns, there is no plural form of "ein & eine"
      ein Mann = a man, eine Frau = a woman, ein Kind = a child (a kid)
      Der Mann hat eine Frau und ein Kind. = The man has a wife and child.
      Only the masculine form of the articles changes in the accusative case
      der -> den, die & das stay the same.
      den Mann = the man ( accusative case), die Frau = the woman, das Kind = the child (the kid)
      Ich sehe den Mann = I see the man.
      Der Mann sieht *mich = the man sees me.
      *mich = me (accusative 1st pronoun)
      Ich sehe den Mann mit dem grauen Hut. = I see the man with the grey (gray) hat.
      mit = with, and is a dative preposition, and needs to be followed by the dative pronoun or article etc. (mit mir, mit dir, mit dem, mit der, mit den, mit meinem, mit meiner, mit einem, mit einer etc.)
      Ich spiele oft Tennis mit meinem Freund. = I often play tennis with my friend (I often play tennis with my friend (that is a male).
      change "Freund" to "Freundin" to reference a female friend.
      If, you have been studying German these last 3 months, you probably already know this stuff.
      singular
      nominative plural of all 3 genders (the) die
      accusative plural of all 3 genders (the) die
      dative plural of all 3 genders (the) den
      genitive plural of all 3 genders (the) der
      **Note: in the plural you can omit the definite article
      Die Männer singen zusammen. = The men sing together.
      Männer singen zusammen. = Men sing together.
      Ich sehe die Männer = I see the men.
      Ich sehe Männer = I see men.
      Die Männer sehen mich. = The men see me.
      Männer sehen mich. = The men see me.
      Die Frauen sehen mich. = The women see me.
      Die Kinder sehen mich. = The children (the kids) see me.
      The feminine forms of articles change less, and they often are identicle to the plural forms, except for the dative case which takes "den" for the plural
      feminine singular forms of "the" are: die, die, der, der
      Die Frau hat keine Zeit. = the woman has no time. (nominative case)
      Ich kenne die Frau. = I know the woman. (accusative case)
      Das ist das Auto der Frau. = That's the woman's car. (genitive case)
      Der Mann gibt der Frau ein Buch. = The man gives (to) the woman a book. (dative case)
      Well, I could continue. But, I have written enough for now.

    • @chriss3030
      @chriss3030 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your English needs some improvement (Minorin and you the Mongolian girl). But you are on the right track in German. However, the plural form of each case applies to all 3 genders. Thus the plural form of the article is the same for all 3 genders, the article forms only change within the singular, or between the different cases. The plurals of the cases are easier to remember, because there are only 4 choices, and 2 of them are the same. die, die, der, den. respectively. But, you probably already know this.

    Brilliant video , will take time to learn as I only started German 3 weeks ago as one of those learn any language in 3 months.But I realise the guys who do learn in 3 months only learn phrases like ,what's your name , where are you from , how old are you,what do you like etc etc etc .....to learn properly you need2 years minimum. To be honest the reason I chose German is because Christmas just gone I was at a party where there were people from east Europe mainly Polish,Czech,Latvians so on and I was involved in a conversation with them on languages .They all agreed that German was the hardest, bad for your throat,worst to listen to and where French sounds sexy and poetic ,German sounded like cars crashing basically everything opposite to French.Anyway I came home and putting aside the stereo typical German I heard in my history classes (WW2 the Fuhrer shouting,infact most Britons have that image) I put on youtube and watched a few programs and I fell in love . I thought wow what an authoritative and commanding language and I am going to learn it. so here I am

      Interesting to hear how people from all over the world feel about my native language and a little sad, too, as most of them find similar descriptions as you did..bad for the throat, authoritative and commanding. I`d wish the sound of German too could be called poetic. Maybe I found an example of German that doesn`t sound so harsh :
      th-cam.com/video/kR1s0gJ9jxk/w-d-xo.html
      It`s a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke. Does that sound throat soring as well?

      +A Throbbing Peanuts
      In the first she talks about nouns that are derived from verbs while in the other example she is talking about gerund.
      sleep: The nouns of to sleep is sleep or the sleep, but the gerund is sleeping.
      Ania sleeps a lot. She needs a lot of sleep, because sleeping is healthy.
      Ania schläft viel. Sie braucht viel Schlaf, weil Schlafen gesund ist.
      gehen/to go: The noun of the verb 'gehen' is 'der Gang', but the gerund form of 'gehen' is 'das Gehen'
      laufen/to run: The noun would be 'der Lauf' which means the race or the run. Das Laufen would be the gerund. Der Lauf war langweilig. The race/run was boring. Das Laufen ist langweilig. Running/jogging is boring.
      fliegen, der Flug, das Fliegen.
      to fly, the flight, flying
      schneien, der Schnee, das Schneien
      to snow, the snow, snowing

      so you have Sitz coming from SitzEN which is a verb.. so you take the verb cut it.. MAKES A NOUN out of it.. then you have Schwimmen and das Schwimmen .. both are used as in the verb case so you can say das SchwimmEN ist toll.. used as a noon and you can say man kann schwimmen used as verb.. see the difference..? Both EN - EN are having a DAS in the noun but EN - / has a DER in the noun

    Ich glaube, ich habe einen Fehler gefunden. Und zwar bei den Beispielen für "der", am Anfang. Nämlich: Du hast gesagt, Nomen, abstammend von Verben, "-en" sind auch immer "der". Aber es heißt doch DAS Essen obwohl das Essen von essen(eine Mahlzeit zu sich nehmen) kommt. Ist das ein Fehler? Oder habe ich da etwas falsch gedacht

      You generally address a stranger with Sie, unless they use "du, dich, dir, etc." to address you. Then it is ok to use those informal forms of address back. However, start with Sie. Later, you can always change to the appropriate informal form of - you. You would use the formal Sie with your boss, but someone your age, that you are more familiar with you can use "du, dich, dir" accordingly. addressing a single female using "Frau" is ok. Frau = Mrs. (Schmidt), die Frau = the woman, meine Frau (Ehefrau) = my wife. Herr = Mr. (Schmidt), mein Mann = my husband (Ehemann). Damen und Herrn = ladies and gentlemen. Addressing a married woman with Fräulein = miss (young lady / young woman/ little lady) it may make some women angry. However, most German speakers won't get upset at your minor mistake. A woman is more likely to get angry if you use rude forms of addressing a woman, or calling them Herr, rather than Frau. Well, to instruct your co-worker you need to use the imperative form of a particular verb, also known as the command form. infinitive verb form - the - to be - form such as "hören" = to hear / to listen to, becomes "hör" when giving a command to 1 person, an example would be: Hör mir gut zu! = listen to me carefully! you would have to change the form of the verb to match how many people you are addressing. "Hören Sie mir gut zu!" can be used with 1 or more people. it is also a more polite way to give an order of: listen to me carefully! (listen carefully!).

    Dear Anja, I was a regular follower for quite a long time, and always enjoyed learning from you. I stopped because I could no longer devote the necessary time. I’ve now come back and continue to believe that you are gifted with a unique mix of intelligence, charm, innovative thinking, and kindness. You make it (almost) painless for me to relearn my native language. (I am Munich-born but left Germany at age 3).
    But... Even though your sexual preference makes no difference to me, I am uncomfortable with your choosing to reveal it, regardless of your personal reasons.
    I have read the comments, from deifying to crude/offensive, and my initial opinion is that you have entered risky territory and possibly crossed the line between the professional and personal. You may have, perhaps unintentionally, and to an unquantifiable degree, polarized your community of students and, dare I say
    fans. Regardless, this does not impact my respect and admiration for you and I will continue to learn from you.

I know my teacher was okay because it's now 20 years later and what I learned was correct and is come back quicker than I expected. But I remember asking the question how do you know what the correct artical is? Only answer I got was you kinda have to just memorize the nounds and pay attention to the endings.

    Here I was thinking that when the German language was created someone had two hats. In one hat went a word, and in the other was either der, die, or das, and someone picked one from each hat. So, from what you're saying, their is some hint of organization to the German language.
