You'll see cool shit that most civvies will never get to experience in their lifetime. An example, my last field ex I had the opportunity of launching a UAV drone, riding in the turret of an armoured vehicle, watching a Tiger attack chopper level the side of a mountain and things of that nature. You will learn, attain and appreciate the fitness that Army will get you, seeing your body go from skinny to muscular powerhouse is something that is beyond words. But most of all the brotherhood and comraderie that you develop with your Platoon is like no other employment in the world. Your unit becomes your family, born from the bond of being in the shit together. It's not all fun and games though, there are shit times to balance out these good moments.

Trousers Dress Barrack greens x1 Putties 1 Pair x 1 cagoule olive green. Hard wear Boots DMS black pair x 1. Webbing Full set 47 pattern including,Mess tins water Bottle Poncho cape olive green. Things like examine burners came with 24 hr Ration packs with Matches and Blocks. That was 1979 and i was 13 years old at the time my older Brother was in the Arny so he got me and a few of my Mates the latest gear of the time. Our instructors hated the fact our kit was better than theirs. We also used to rob the bins at the back of the territorial Army Stores where a friendly QM would throw out a few bits and bobs for a couple of tinnis once a week.That as 1979 Great days. Make the Best of your cadet service you will learn life skills that will last you a life time. I went on to join the Army Reserves and left to See to my family life after nearly 20 years of cadets and reservist service. Good luck son and have a wonderful, Life, its what ever you decide to do .
LCPL here, I am sick and tired of telling my cadets to bring their water bottles and webbing and to make sure their bottles are filled up. In my unit if they don’t have a water bottle of if it is not filled we throw their stuff and make then my crawl to it.
That’s how you get your cadets to hate you, what’s wrong with making them do a boring task like cleaning stuff or taking the bin bags out? Terrible leadership

I got accepted couple days after signing up but can vary for every Unit or Time of year, you applied. I also did mine Online so not sure if that changed anything.
After finishing my application I emailed the cadet dudes multiple times asking when it starts,three months later we got an email back in January saying that cadets go back in February ( didn't specify when) then in the last week of February we get another email saying it starts in one week. I was so excited, but the night before it started we get an email saying that they messed up the paper work or something, and that cadets was postponed. Then a week after that the biggest floods in Australian history happens thus flooding my area and the town of the cadet unit. Now it's postponed until term 2 ( happy days ) oh well at least I've got something to look forward to :D
It depends, the regulations are that your hair cannot be touching your ears or your collar. However, you can get away with a long-ish fringe if its tucked away when you put your headdress on.
