Did you all actually look at the video? He didn’t get 30 seconds added. When the arbiter set the clock (around 11:30), she mistakenly put it into time set mode, as evidenced by the flashing zeros. This was unnoticed as they made several attempts to start the game with one second left, but each time the clock wouldn’t start because it was still in time set mode, and strangely, the same happened with the second clock(!) Earlier, the Mexican boy was correctly given two extra minutes because his opponent had illegally pressed the clock without moving.

True it's a little fuzzy. And the black player needs some guidance. But he did resign with a smile. And his stoic opponent smiled in return. All is not lost.
The kid in the cap is bashing the pieces and the clock maniacally. That alone should call for a sanction. There is one occasion where he pressed the clock twice on one move by bashing the piece down and then hitting the clock in some sort of half way manner, and hitting the clock again, as a result of which he got two increments on one move.

What could he have possibly disagreed with? What more did he want? I don't know what the rule says, but pressing the clock without making a move in order to avoid a time forfeit seems like an attempt to cheat. There should be some consequences, but there were none.

Some comments praise the boy because his name is Jesus, while others pick on the other little boy just for behaving like a kid. Many children cry when they lose any game. You say he is a kid like he just started playing chess. he is 12. he has 1740 rating. and he knew he lost already, and the grown-ups let him get 10 min extra time to think of a move. Now we know for the future- if you want more time to think just press the button anytime and u get 10 min extra. GJ
in no world this should be allowed. i would have told the kid, that his game is automatically lost, if its true that he didnt make a move while pressing the clock. and it should be a rule that if this happen a second time, the player should get a penality for at least one year!
The penalty was too low. He would have definitely flagged and so he decided to cheat. The arbiter did not deduct his time at all. He was so surprised that he only got one second even though that was the amount of time he legitimately had.
11:53 he purposely tip all the pieces to have an ooportunity to move the white knight to a different position. I can't believe how professional this kid is at CHEATING!!! A KID YES BUT AT THAT LEVEL THEY KNOW ALL THE RULES AND THE DO'S AND DONT'S! I hope the coaches correct this because he's done this a couple of times already if he is that calm and decisive into making a cheater move!
Apparently everyone missed that he already gained an extra 30secs by double-pressing the clock after ...Bf4. Sadly the current rules encourage players to make illegal moves (or even non-moves) in difficult positions when they cannot see a drawing line. The extra time for the opponent is unimportant compared with the ability to do a much deeper calculation in case there is some saving resource, and even if you don't find something, the opponent's concentration and focus might be interrupted. There is also a second video of the same player making an illegal move in a completely lost, forced mate position. It is less clear if that was deliberate but seeing this game makes one less inclined to give the benefit of the doubt. Let's hope he never makes it to the professional ranks...
If I am arbiter and the kid asked for the chief arbiter for an obvious ruling and decision, I would not have agreed and would have decided immediately. It's not a case where you need to call the chief arbiter. I love the manner the kid resigned though :-)
No bro after kxg4 there is h5 and white king is shielding the black king from coming closer and even without the white bishop this is a winning position for white.

That kid should be disgusted of himself. No shame in trying to cheat twice at 2:41 and at 11:53 and god knows how many times in other matches. Absolutely shameless child. Kudos to Jesus for keeping calm and noticing his tricks both the time.
You say he is a kid like he just started playing chess. he is 12. he has 1740 rating. and he knew he lost already, and the grown-ups let him get 10 min extra time to think of a move. Now we know for the future- if you want more time to think just press the button anytime and u get 10 min extra. GJ
what an unfair brat! at 2:40 he already pretended to move
in no world this should be allowed. i would have told the kid, that his game is automatically lost, if its true that he didnt make a move while pressing the clock. and it should be a rule that if this happen a second time, the player should get a penality for at least one year!
17:07 Who says: "Offer a draw"?
aren't all clocks checked for stable operation before the tournament?
@ChessBase India
This game has registered it's name in the history to show how a player should NOT play the chess game ! Very disappointed !
Bless them both for ending the wonderful Game so graciously! Lovely Smiles all round 😀
The Mexican kid is very cool. The way he showed the other kid which move he made when the kid returned at 1:01 is cute.
Why the hell would he cause this much drama for a completely losing game 😂
Nice sportsmanship in the very end! Hopefully parents/ coaches doesn't enable bad behavior.
Xingon el chavo! Echele ganas, mijo!!
If I am arbiter and the kid asked for the chief arbiter for an obvious ruling and decision, I would not have agreed and would have decided immediately. It's not a case where you need to call the chief arbiter. I love the manner the kid resigned though :-)
15:06 is there not a draw here here with bxh6 kxh6 and kxg4 and it’s the wrong colour bishop to win??.
No bro after kxg4 there is h5 and white king is shielding the black king from coming closer and even without the white bishop this is a winning position for white.
2:42 he moved the king and put it back in original position. As if a pass.
I hope this Ramazan boy learns his lesson and doesn't make this mistake again, because not everyone can be as patient as Jesus.
Very sad behaviour from Kazakh woman and the kid .... Very unsportsmanlike ... The Mexican kid kept his cool though
04:04 😂😂😂😂
what is he doing. 😅Does he know he's being recorded??😂😂
WTF what is this tournament where arbiters are useless ?? Even that young Jesus managed to make a clock work which all these useless arbiters couldn't several times I can't believe it
THE CALM KID WAS CLEVERER THAN THE ARBITERS.
This is what happens when you dont teach your kids to have respect.

Bad habits start at this age or even earlier, parents should educate him properly. Great attitude reply from Jesus.
LOL in end he thought opponent accept a draw😂
Awful little sneaky cheat, i suspect also a terrible bully at school; unbelievable his behaviour gets rewarded; throw him back to his "educators".
a future chess hustler
I was a fucking crusade
Topi ka kamal hai sab
Lindu ka kamal sab
What a cocky kid😅
Even here posts are deleted what a shame.
Wtf . Interesting names btw.
Qué paciencia de Jesús!!!😅
Any adult in his team was able to tell him to just fucking resign and stop being a pain in the ass? Really?
How many times did this cheeky fellow try to cheat? Someone needs to discipline him sternly. He can’t behave like this.
Cheating a such a young age. I already hate that kid.
How can they give him extra time ? Can anyone pls explain.I mean is it legal
jesus?
9:05 That‘s the whole Point. Why exactly does the Lady afterwards takes minutes to explain that further 😂

is game over not touching a pieces to move & press the clock😢
ending with a smile. :-) why "most dramatic"?
