Their live sound is so perfectly dialed in that you can hear every single instrument almost as clearly as the studio versions despite being recorded with a phone
And the best part is the barely do a sound check if at all 😂 Cory wong stated that in an interview once. Ive seen them live twice. Saw them a month ago and caught the "sound check" they came out for 2 minutes, plugged in, played a quick tune and was like "ok were golden!" And came back like 20 minutes later for the actual show lol. I only saw Cory, Joe and Theo come out for it too lol. I dont even think it was all of them.
i learned this solo by ear and i was amazed at the simplicity of it. at the risk of sounding pompous, the actual note choice isn't crazy. pretty much just roots, 5ths, octaves and that 2 b3 3 thing he does everywhere. just goes to show what an amazing musician he is that he can make what could have very easily been an underwhelming, generic fill into this 30 second masterpiece. absolute genius.
Yeah thats true, I just looked at it as well and he used the pentatonic scale same with the 1 b2 3 thingy almost exclusively. This shows that the pentatonic scale isn't for noobs only :)

Joe “doesn’t miss a beat” dart
For real though. He didn't start AFTER the count in, but on the 4th beat OF the count in. Like it was automatic
@@Peanutbutter_Funk exactly what I was thinking. Joe perfectly syncronized to the beat within milliseconds with the first tone he played.
