In this episode I show off 9 cards I just got back from PSA. After I reveal the grades, I will talk about why I chose these specific cards to send in and what I plan to do with them.
Then I talk about the biggest news to hit the UFC card hobby since 2020.......Topps has the UFC license and they will be releasing 2024 Topps Chrome UFC later this month! I will discuss my thoughts on the big move over to Topps and give you my intitial reactions to the 2024 Topps Chrome UFC preview images.

The 54' topps is sweet, I'm more of a fan of 52' but still neat to see that bleed into ufc

@@JoesCardStache it's up now but honestly the worst submission for 10s I've ever had. I sent in 2 damaged cards on purpose and they both got 9s so I know PSA didn't take time and give me real grades.
Everyone forgets what a shit show Topps UFC Cards were before. There was nothing but complaints for years. So funny how quick people forget. Let's just hope to God they can atleast stamp the rookies correctly this time. I'm personally not a fan. Let's not even get started on the dam redemptions. I still have over 50 pending from before..
@rickjones3965 I hear you Rick. I’m sure there will a lot of problems but this Topps is under new management. Hopefully they do a better job.
Well covered Joe! I agree with you in the disappointment in the designs we have seen so far. I was in a mood and recorded a video on it over the weekend and i was a little more harsh on my opinion haha. I had missed the news of having possibly 7 releases this year. Thats wild!
I had big hopes for topps chrome this year. And like you I am left not feeling so ambitious after seeing these photos. The throwbacks are beautiful. Those will be the only chase for me from this set.
@5mcory976 I hear ya man but I would wait until you see all the cards before you make any decisions. They’re might be a lot off cool shit they haven’t shown yet.
Crack that Max Holloway and send it to TAG and see what the grade really is, and why it got the grade they give. TAG is the future of grading.

Great vid J Stache! With all the talk about Topps over that last 6-9 months, I thought if and when the new designs hit, I'll be blown away. TBH I'm a bit underwhelmed with these, might be a bit different in hand. Topps might hold back on the refractor types, but they certainly make up for it in the crazy amount of inserts, not for me. Idea being to get people to chase em. There will be tons of product this years so w'll see. For me, I still keep coming back to Select. Cheers
@Matty_Mac I agree. The amount of inserts is nuts. Not sure what they were thinking there. It should make for a fun rip though. Lots more superfractors to chase.

Congrats on the grades. Excited for the return of topps. Those autos look dope imo. Very clean. Reminds me of the 1st year prizm champion autos which are so nice. Need that islam auto. Excited for new fighters. Would be amazing if they could get conor to start signing again too.

Great video! Congrats on your Gem 10s! I think when they mention that 7 products are coming they are talking about UFC and WWE. That would make more sense. I believe Fanatics got both Licenses to produce this year. I can’t wait for your video on the Burbank Show. Please mention in your video what your opinion on the popularity of UFC cards at the show. I’m curious if cards shows have more UFC product and rare cards available to purchase if the demand is there from collectors. Sometimes I don’t realize how small our community is compared to MLB, NBA and NFL.
@ricksilva4386 Thanks Rick! It’s really hard to interpret the 7 products line. It’s so ambiguous. I will definitely let you know how UFC is looking at Burbank show. I’ve been to all them so far so I will no if there is a bigger presence at this one.
915 numbered parallels per base card x 200 cards = 182,600
Plus the numbered inserts, 67 or so numbered per card, but I don't know the checklist or how many inserts, 25 fighters per type? who knows? but it further dilutes it somewhat. lets just say 125 different insert cards with 67 numbered parallels each = 8375 cards
so guess work total: 191,000 cards
So 4 numbered per box: 191K / 4 = 47750 boxes?
Say 50K hobby boxes of 2024 Chrome?
wild amount? or not so much? I am legit asking here I have no experience outside of UFC cards.
Holy shit. You just broke my brain. There’s definitely gonna be a lot of this stuff. We will see how it goes. Hopefully their marketing team can bring in enough collectors to buy it all.

FYI: Tyson Beck on card autos with Volk drop on Monday Feb. 12th. It looks rad and I'm gonna try for one I think.
It is Tyson Beck. Stroud had a Autos as well but they sold out in like half a second. Is the Volk on the Topps site?
My opinion ppl will be begging for panini to come back. I think they made some nice UFC cards not everything but they had moments

I agree everything I'm seeing so far is disappointing. I'm going to continue the Collect Panini cards... I think their value was keep going up and up.. as well as a specific view 2017 through 2019 chrome
Panini is the only company that doesn't give us odds of the hit. good riddance.

Yeah, but Tops is already over printing like crazy only four numbered cards per box? This is going to be a huge print run and they're already making more sets than Panini ever did. Not excited about 2024 UFC cards.

Did you say your friend turnip.. lol? and when your friend sends out base cards to get signed does he send money and the card or just sends the card and asks for the fighters to sign it..?
Hahaha. Close. It’s @turnit The guy who sends out cards is @dk_displays I don’t think he sends money. I believe he just sends the cards, a letter, a sharpie, and return postage.
@JoesCardStache oh OK thanks my man. I see a few fighters saying to send like $20 bucks to donate to their charity and they will sign so wasn't sure haha. But even at that.. 20 bucks isn't bad to get an auto 🤷♂️

It seems to me that UFC collectors dont really care about slabbed cards. Not that they dont like them, just that they dont put them at a premium. Kinda crazy to me as a collector of other sports.
They only want 10s
even then they dont pay a premium or I guess maybe it becuase the fighters dont fight as often to bring up the hype factor. Guys like Umar are selling way to cheap even for PSA 10s

@jeglmg2003 I completely agree. I want all my PC slabbed but I can’t really use modern UFC cards as investments because of the low prices.
@BrendanMaNIA I find the prices for 10s are good on older Topps cards. But not the newer stuff.

I'm actually really sad about chrome this is basically just a chronicles product with the chromium substrate. Way too many inserts... with only four numbered cards. And now they're going to do seven sets per year, which is more than Panini ever did I think they had four the first year. Plus only four numbered cards means these are going to be huge print runs...ugh.
Not excited about UFC cards in 2024
I think this will boost Panini value and I will continue to collect Panini cards and 2017 through 2019 chrome . Not super interested in 2024 UFC.
Hey Moby, I agree it’s looking that way but I think we don’t know everything yet. The seven sets a year was only mentioned in one article and we don’t know exactly what they mean. Same with the numbered cards. I can’t imagine it’s only 4 numbered cards per hobby box. We will see when it comes out. Either way I think the older Panini sets are going to be very collectible in the future.
