The C210 has better resolution than the C200 allowing me to digitally zoom in when I am viewing the live footage over the app. I am not sure if it can detect pets, don't have a pet at home to test this out. Hopefully someone who has C210 can confirm this when they read this thread.
when you get the alert of motion and you log onto the app to see what the camera is showing, does it play live audio or is the audio only able to be heard on the recording? Also, is there a mic function from the app in your phone to the camera, for example if you want to speak to someone the camera has picked up in motion?
nice detailed demo ty... can you turn off the camera and turn it back on or does it have to be on all the time? I only need to turn it on when i'm using the heater and light in my garage and to monitor a crawlspace
Yes you can. It will be offline when you switch it off. And when you switch it back on, it will automatically connect to wifi and be available on its app in a few minutes.
I am thinking it is entirely possible that they will make the person detection of c210 also a subscription only feature bundled with their cloud service, like it is in the c200. Btw did you test what happens when there are 2 people detected? Then one might move and other might not ... Which one will it keep track of? Maybe both start moving in separate directions
Yes I did test that. When both person are present in view, the person that moves will attract the camera to pan towards them. The camera got very busy when both people are moving. 😄 Oh I hope they don't force cloud subscription on us. I don't think the current subscription price is worth it. I might consider cloud subscription if they lower the price. Apparently this camera can do NVR too. So that might be another option instead of cloud.
Is motion tracking will already be free if I buy the camera or I have to buy the subscription and after that the feature be enable for using? Tapo C210
@@Sanzitvilla That explains why, the competitors might be offering this feature without subscription in India. It all depends on what is available on the market for that country.

Yes I would like to see how it does with night detection and panning. Also you mentioned "tilt." Does that mean it can move its eye up or down if it detects an object above or below?
Hi again @woofinu, yes it does move up and down (tilt) to detect the moving subject. See 0:24 where I tried to stand up and squat down, also a bit of up and down at 2:38. Thanks for the suggestion. Let's see how many likes we get for this suggestion. To be honest, I haven't tested much with it's night vision and night detection. Might play with it if I get some time.
@@SkyPerspective Thanks. I watched the review again and saw the tilt discussion. What I am not clear about is how far up or down the camera eye can go. Two more features I would like to be tested: 1. Can you block out a certain viewing area so the camera doesn't respond to movement there (for example sunlight or auto traffic in a street) 2. Can you manually pan the camera without motion detected, just because you want to check that area?
@woofinu The camera doesn't tilt very low, but it does tilt up quite high. If the horizon is 0 degrees, I would say it can tilt up proximately 60 to 70 degrees, and tilt down about 30 degrees. This is a rough guess. 1. Yes there are two ways of blocking. One is privacy blocking of an area, multiple areas actually. We can keep adding and resizing rectangles to black out areas of the camera view. Those areas are black out in the recording, that's why it's called privacy blocking. The other way is motion detection active zone. Once again, we can add and resize rectangles to tell the camera only detect motion in that area. Other areas that are not covered by the rectangles, the camera will ignore motion in those areas. 2. Yes we can manually pan the camera using the app anytime. This also sets the camera default viewing position. I showed a bit of the manual panning in the video at 1:08
@@SkyPerspective This is a pan camera made by Wyze: th-cam.com/video/lnpwmzS8dyg/w-d-xo.html . I don't think it's sold in Australia. The one reviewed is v= generation 3. Dear Sir, In c210, can we set it to sleep or rest mode so it stops recording and again resumes recordimg when motion is detected? So memory can be utilised better.
Yes, you are right. The idea of having SD card is not so much for the reason you have described, it's only for us to be able to see past videos. Security cameras are deterrents more than anything. To prevent what you have described, we would need to get cloud backup.
Apart from it doesn't sing lullaby, I think C210 would be a good baby camera to view the baby on demand. And forget about the Dlink, the Dlink app is really disappointing.

Hi! I just unboxed the C210 and realised I cant pan a full 360. Is it faulty? If I pan all the way to the left or right, an error that says "Camera pan tilt has reached the maximum extent in this direction. Please drag to another direction" appears. I think I do get a 360 view its just that I have to pan all the way to the opposite side if it makes sense. Say for example, my puppy moves out of the camera angle into the left side of the room, I wont be able to pan left further to see him and instead have to do a manual and nearly 360degree to the right to be able to see him. Not super tech savy so I am confused, thought I should ask! When I manually and gently twist the bottom part of the device, there is a start/end point that I cannot turn further. Hope I got the message across 😅
Yes, I know what you are asking. And yes, when it reaches its maximum turning point it has to turn back the other direction. It doesn't just keep turning beyond the 360 and keep going like 720 degrees and more because of its internal wiring. I have taken apart this camera before. The cable connecting the bottom (power supply inlet) and the top camera cannot twist more than 360. Hence the camera limits its rotation to within its 360 rotating range.
Hi Minda, I realised this is happening to one of my c210 cameras too, and it only happened recently. I wonder if TP link has changed their AI algorithms. Hopefully, they will see this comment thread and fix it. I wonder how many of us are also having this issue. Thanks for sharing.

If you don't mind sharing the same one single account (one username), then I think you should be able to install the Tapo app on all your devices and log in using the same account. I don't think they limit the number of devices using the same single account.
Hi very nice to see this video, i have two questions 1. Can it be viewed in windows operating system? Please suggest 2. Can this cam viewed in multiple devices and visitors management options please suggest
1) Yes, be not easily. We need to find the streaming URL of this camera and use a Windows Application like VLC to view. 2) Yes, in fact the app can easily do that, it's just not obvious. I might make a video on this topic given you are the second person asking this already.
What sorts of recording settings are you referring to? Yes there are things we can change in the app like recording playback audio volume; or continuous recording vs record only when motion detected. Is that what you are asking?
@renannepomuceno3659 yes, sort of. Even though we can"t select the sd card recordings and download to our phone remotely, we can record it as we watch it on your phone. The idea being we get notified for motion detection, we watch remotely and see something interesting, we hit the record button as we watch remotely.
Yes c200 does have person detection and can send you notifications based on person detected. You can watch your c200 camera anywhere in the world as long as you have internet connection and the app running on your phone.
Yes I installed one of my c110 at my patio, under shelter but it's outdoor. So far it lasted more than a year now. I was expecting it to break sooner, but it's still going well. It's not designed for outdoor so your situation might be different. Depends on your weather.
@@SkyPerspective hmm ok will it still function if the cctv was like abit drizzle of rain since im planning to put mine in the celling outdoors upsidedown
It all depends on whether you have continuous recording or just motion tracking recording. I have it on motion tracking recording, and it last at least a week without any issue.
Beware, folks that the AI person detection can be hit and miss. Detects my domestic cats as humans - and No, they are not wearing outfits! Also you can't enable just human detection and human TRACKING. For motion tracking you have to have general motion detection turned on. You can, however, set the camera to only ALERT on humans, and as long as you don't have cats, you may be fine..
I see you’re not using their subscription… but you’re using the motion tracking? You don’t need the subscription to motion track? I’ve been trying to figure this out for days lol
@@SkyPerspective I just got the c210 and it wants me to subscribe in order to use motion tracking... 😅 This brand can be a bit confusing when it comes to certain features being used with or without the subscription lol

I would be really grateful if you could confirm if in your country this camera sends motion detection notifications along with viewable snippet under the free plan or not (In the case where SD card is inserted)? And, yes, these companies don't really mention in the description, what all exactly is a part of the subscription and what's free for lifetime....
Thanks - very useful comparison for me as I have C200 - just a query/update that AI detection seems to have been enabled with the recent firmware version 1.3.4. I still wanted to confirm the difference between motion and person detection - whether motion detection disabling will allow me to be a "pet-friendly" camera? i.e. when my cat's movement is detected it will not notify me. But, with the motion detection turned off, and having the person detection enabled will alert me to unwanted intruder persons? thanks
Yes, we can turn off Motion detection and turn on AI detection. So what happen is you will only get notification when the AI detects a person. If the AI is too smart it might also detect a cat and notify you 😉, I doubt this will be the case. There are only two sub-options, "person detection" and "baby crying" under the AI detection menu.

@@SkyPerspective ahhh! alright. thanks for clarifying that! :) guess I just have to position the camera to work around that.
my C210 have recorded person detection but no human seen on thev recorded video. it happened 3 times already.
Hi Minda, I realised this is happening to one of my c210 cameras too, and it only happened recently. I wonder if TP link has changed their AI algorithms. Hopefully, they will see this comment thread and fix it. I wonder how many of us are also having this issue. Thanks for sharing.
Oh by the way, in case you are not aware, you can turn off the person detection notification if that get too annoying for you.
Can I use it without plugging to electric please
Unfortunately, no.
Thank you
User manual says 2 users can have access to the cameras through the app? Does it mean 2 users at the same time because I need 5 users to have the access in total but don’t mind if the maximum number of ppl who c
If you don't mind sharing the same one single account (one username), then I think you should be able to install the Tapo app on all your devices and log in using the same account. I don't think they limit the number of devices using the same single account.
Hi very nice to see this video, i have two questions
1. Can it be viewed in windows operating system? Please suggest
I just need to know why mine didn’t turn to night view
good info thanksss
Thank you so much for your comment. Now I know my video is useful.
Nice tutorial. Does it have no recording setting?
What sorts of recording settings are you referring to? Yes there are things we can change in the app like recording playback audio volume; or continuous recording vs record only when motion detected. Is that what you are asking?
@@SkyPerspective Can I download the recording remotely so that I don't need to pull out the micro SD card?
@renannepomuceno3659 yes, sort of. Even though we can"t select the sd card recordings and download to our phone remotely, we can record it as we watch it on your phone. The idea being we get notified for motion detection, we watch remotely and see something interesting, we hit the record button as we watch remotely.
Just to clarify the C200 has the built in motion detection which gives push notifications out of the box , without paying for subscription right?
Yeah but no AI human detection
Which model is better?
C210
Just asking will the c200 also send a notification if it detect a person? Also can i live video in the c200 when your out in town??
Yes c200 does have person detection and can send you notifications based on person detected. You can watch your c200 camera anywhere in the world as long as you have internet connection and the app running on your phone.
@@SkyPerspective ok thanks for the info
@@SkyPerspectivecan i put this camera for outdoors even tho is not water resistant but can i still put this outside but just a little shelter for it?
Yes I installed one of my c110 at my patio, under shelter but it's outdoor. So far it lasted more than a year now. I was expecting it to break sooner, but it's still going well. It's not designed for outdoor so your situation might be different. Depends on your weather.
@@SkyPerspective hmm ok will it still function if the cctv was like abit drizzle of rain since im planning to put mine in the celling outdoors upsidedown
This ipcam can share or view different cellphone?
If you install the tapo app and log in to the same account, you can view the same camera on different cellphone.
Thanks
Welcome
The motion tracking often just pans so that the face is not visible. Sucks. Also often just over-rotates and no longer sees anything.
Brother your 16gb memory cards holds how much day's of footage?..... please answer really wanna know
It all depends on whether you have continuous recording or just motion tracking recording. I have it on motion tracking recording, and it last at least a week without any issue.
@@SkyPerspective thanks brother for replying ❤️
Beware, folks that the AI person detection can be hit and miss. Detects my domestic cats as humans - and No, they are not wearing outfits! Also you can't enable just human detection and human TRACKING. For motion tracking you have to have general motion detection turned on. You can, however, set the camera to only ALERT on humans, and as long as you don't have cats, you may be fine..
If someone removes the SD card. Will the data automatically stored in your phone too?
Unfortunately no. The data can be automaticly stored in the tapo cloud storage with a subscription. This will prevent losd of sd card footage
does this camera record 24/7?
Yes we can set it to record 24/7, and set it to auto rotate the sd card space by overwriting oldest footage..
I see you’re not using their subscription… but you’re using the motion tracking? You don’t need the subscription to motion track? I’ve been trying to figure this out for days lol
Oh I think you just answered my question lol you’re awesome!!! Great review!!
Yes, C210 can do motion tracking without subscription. We need to subscribe if we want motion tracking with C200.
@@SkyPerspective I just got the c210 and it wants me to subscribe in order to use motion tracking... 😅 This brand can be a bit confusing when it comes to certain features being used with or without the subscription lol
Oh really! May I know which country are you in? I wonder if they have different offerings for different countries.
@@TotallyKayla Hi.
I would be really grateful if you could confirm if in your country this camera sends motion detection notifications along with viewable snippet under the free plan or not (In the case where SD card is inserted)? Also, it's connectable to NAS right? So that one can evade the cloud subscription by recording data to the NAS.
And, yes, these companies don't really mention in the description, what all exactly is a part of the subscription and what's free for lifetime....
Does it detect multiple persons? who does it follow then?
Whoever moves it will turn to that person. If both are moving, it gets very busy.
C210 is 3 mp not 2mp
