Hey guys, I hope you are doing well :)
This week, I'm comparing lens hoods for the X100V! As many of you know, to truly unlock this camera's full potential and shoot with it all-year-round, a lens hood is the perfect investment. Not only will it allow you to mount any type of 49mm filters, but it will also let give you peace of mind when out shooting because you know the front glass element is protected (bonus points if you're like me and hate dealing with lens caps!).
In this video, we're taking a look at two popular lens hoods, the LH-X54B (squarehood) from Haoge, and the LH-GX100 (circular vented design) from JJC. Stick around until the end of the video to see which one I fit my criteria the best!
    Enjoy!

I went with the square hood as well. Very clear review on both hoods

I went for the square hood and soon found it blocks the built in flash to a small degree. Went back to what I used on my X100s. The lens hood adapter, filter and a reverse mounted 49mm to 37mm step down ring. Mounted on my X100v it completes making the camera water/weather resistant and is small and discreet.

Hi, wish you safe in this pandemic, I have a couple questions.
1:. What filter are you using in this video with the square hood? It seems the type and/or brand you use directly correlates to how the square hood will align in the end, this has something to do with the thickness of the filter I'm guessing.
    2. Can you fit the original Fuji camera cap on top of the square hood and is it a snag fit?
    3. How does the hood and the adapter and filter work with the two conversion lenses and how do you achieve 100% weather resistance with the conversion lenses? I don't have a x100 series.
    Cheers.

A simple 49mm UV filter. I don't think it will align what so ever unfortunately :/ You cannot use a lens cap with the square filter. You don't need one if you use a UV filter that already protects the lens. I always lose them anyway haha!

Thanks for the review. I see that you did not tighten with square hood all the way as it did not align correctly - Has that been an issue for you? Thanks again.

Nog at all, there's enough friction to hold it in place (it's mildly loose), I do have to re-align it each time it comes out of my backpack though. For the price, I really don't mind, it won't fall off, there's enough threading to keep it like 90% screwed-in I'd say! Hope this helps :D

@@nomondayclub Thanks for the reply. I ordered it and plan to use it with a pro mist filter.

@@nomondayclub having to realign each time is crazy and unacceptable to me. That factor should have been mentioned.

I have the square hood and it is always crooked and hugely annoying. Messaged hoage and their advice was tightening it more, which doesn't work... Bad design if you ask me. Am very disappointed

@@epzamora update: it bothered me enough that i stopped using it.
Now I use the x70 lens hood when i use a pro mist filter, and I use the original square hood when using a regular fujifilm filter.
