Presenting our next AROCM Showcase: Alfa Romeo GTV6 (Tipo 116)
Based on the Alfa Romeo Alfetta, Alfa Romeo GTV6 is a fastback coupé designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign. Initially released with the same powertrain as the Alfetta, the GTV6 received a modernized version of the now legendary Busso V6 that debuted in the Alfa 6 in the previous years. Added with the much praised engine, the power is sent to the rear wheels with the used of a transaxle, a transmission and axle combined into a single unit, which aided the handling and performance of the vehicle and becoming one of the best cars of its time.
In this video, the car was at Art of Speed 2022 event. While still retaining most of its original parts, the engine have been swapped for a much larger 3.0 liter Busso V6 and a power steering mod have been installed to the car for easier driving. The car entered Art of Speed 2022 under the Classic Italian Category and have become the runner up for the category.
