    Aluminum frames have come a long way. Great video!

    Got my EX5 and after 100 miles and only a very few rides it was squeaking like crazy. Took it all apart to find no grease on anything. Do some light greasing and it’s like new. But I’m on my 3rd Fuel and completely love it.

      It's the taking it apart bit that scares me

    Pretty sure that they said the frame can accept 2.8 tires. I have the 8 and it's fantastic. Perfect for east coast technical single track

    Have you ridden the previous model with the full floater? I'm curious how it compares to this one

    • @Jamesthebikeguy
      @Jamesthebikeguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have ridden every year for a while now. Last time I owned a Fuel EX was a 2014 EX8. That said, I don't know that I ever knew that the full floater was floating. It's a way to get the right leverage ratio so it should not be a noticeable change.

    • @octaviocordoliani9081
      @octaviocordoliani9081 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fixed point is way better. I had the 2019 frame with the full floater and it was not as stiff as the 2020. I got this frame as warranty from Trek and it is awesome. Plus the color bro, the color🤘🏻

    I love the look that the straight downtube gives. Most other bikes have that massive elongated curve behind the headtube. The Fuel EX frame looks better imo.

    With the knock block and how the stem slots into the headset does that mean you can’t run other branded stems.

    • @inambohle5265
      @inambohle5265 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can buy an adapter from trek, and run any normal stem you want

  • @regularMattMatt
    @regularMattMatt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So this means that this frame is not allowed to user other brand stem?

    • @Jamesthebikeguy
      @Jamesthebikeguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No you can use any stem. There is an adapter to keep knockblock and use any other brand stem available for a few dollars from Trek

    Id only ridden trek.for about 6 years. Let me say this.... try a different brand. Get a yeti or an ibis or. An evil they ride 10x better with modern geo and a good linkage design youll never want to even look at specialized trek or giant.

    • @Jamesthebikeguy
      @Jamesthebikeguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol thats laughable. I just got this bike after a Hightower and a Hightower LT. This fuel is quite impressive, and I doubt that Brand X or Brand Y have that much better suspension designs. Everything is a compromise.
