I purchased the nl pure 10x42 last summer (2023), and l can't stress enough how wonderful they are!
The clarity and detail they have, even with low light is amazing!
If you have the money ( or even have to borrow), l believe you will not regret it.
You might regret not getting the very best.

Im so struggle to pick between 8x32mm and 8x42mm, I do use it on dusk and twilight sometimes, but I kinda hard to justify is the 200g weight different make much different..they about the same size tho, so my only concern is the differences between comforts( weight etc) and their optical difference on cloudy day or twilight.

I recommend the 10x42. The reason is that the FOV is similar to many 8x binoculars, so they will give you that wide feel, but they give you a little more magnification too. Then get the forehead rest which improves stability and makes them perform like a typical 8x pair in terms of steadiness and shake prevention. The forehead rest makes a big difference.

The 32mm’s are very bright as well.. I compared them and couldn’t justify the price and weight difference.

I have bought the 8x42, Im very happy with it, 32mm might be an option but I guess I can appreciate either of them, if I can't handle the weight for long period of gazing then I'll just use a monopod etc for it.

@@不死原飴羽 good choice. You can’t go wrong with any variants of these binoculars. Some of the fundamental benefits of the 8s are a brighter image, larger exit pupil for easier positioning of your eyes, wider FOV, and increased steadiness- especially with the forehead rest. One thing I experience a lot with the 10s is that the FOV is so wide that I get to move my eyeballs to look around. But with the smaller exit pupil, the turning of my eye moves my pupil outside the image circle and my view goes dark. The depth of field with the 8s is also thicker so they are easier to focus and keep moving subjects in focus as you track. The 8s are better in a lot of fundamental ways.
I also like the 42 best because of ergonomics. They fit perfectly in hand with the twisted wrap barrel. They are surprisingly small too. They are a lot smaller than a lot of other 42s from other manufacturers.

You can’t tell a difference between 8x32and 8x42 for 90% of the scenarios. Only in very poor light and dark shadows can you make out any difference

I have just purchased the 8x32 NPL absolutely love them, ideal size for me, particularly in woodland, and light for when I'm carrying photo gear, nice and clear, great FOV, best binoculars I've ever owned. Great review.

They are! The extra brightness and the bigger exit pupil (3.2 mm on 10×32 and 4.2 mm on 10×42) are worth the extra price imo

@@Fabsinthewild I got my 10x32 (burnt orange) NL's last month. I find them perfect so far, but cannot help wonder what even more perfection 42mm of aperture could bring. A second pair of NL's would make me consider a display cabinet for them. They are such beautiful things.

@@FabsinthewildI have always preferred the Swarovskis over Leicas and Zeiss. I remember a long time ago that Bausch & Lomb made a competitive model of binoculars called the Elite, it was good as well, but Swarovski still does it best, their image quality is top notch. By the way, I like your accent!😁

I got to try these today and you can't overstate how good they are. The wow factor when looking through them is real. Compared to my cheap 10x42 it's hard to understand they have the same basic specs. A massive difference in fov, sharpness and brightness.

I had been on the fence about buying them due to the cost. Thinking more on the 8.4x42 EL, in the store i compared the EL and NL in 10x42 and bought the NL. Field of view is amazing. Thanks for sharing your review!

Got my 12x42 NL pure back in 2022. Need to send it in for retrofit for the tripod adapter. The quality of lenses cover is bad I have to admit. Need a replacement for one of them less than a year into using it. However, the replacement is free since Swarovski has lifetime warrantee for their product and excellent customer service.

Good day. I want to ask that the NL, in addition to having a larger field of view, is optical than EL? Does it also have colors, sharpness?

    • @Fabsinthewild
      @Fabsinthewild  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Both are great. Try both out side by side in an area you can view at distance. Both will be great but you will need to see if the added cost is worth it to you as well as other features you may like dislike on either. Superb optics with either choice.

@@Fabsinthewild I was curious about your opinion. I had EL It had beautiful neutral colors and a clean image from edge to edge, only for me it lacked sharpness and resolution. Now I have SF VICTORY. It does not have a completely clear image from edge to edge and it does not have such neutral colors, but the image is sharp and has a high resolution that I have never seen with EL. It's a shame that those good features cannot be produced in one pair of binoculars

I tested several high end binos before settling on 8.5 x 42 EL Field Pro. This was vs Zeiss, Leica and the NL Pure. Actually the ELs were just better for my eyes and it was quite obvious. They felt comfortable to use and i have been very happy with them. I would say at this price trying before buying is really important - optics and ergonomics are personal.

They are expensive but one benefit is that they are analog. There are no computers or batteries. This means they can last for many years and perform exactly the same. If you are younger, buy them before your eyesight starts to degrade and you will likely be able to enjoy them for the rest of your life. It seems the rubber shell is the weakest link that will dry rot after 40 years, but they designed that to be removable, so it can be replaced easily. The body is metal. Optically and structurally they are robust. I really think these can last a lifetime or more.

@@jrnumex9286 The normal aging process causes difficulty distinguishing colors, needing more light to see well, difficulty focusing, poor night vision, and other changes. Your ability to hold binoculars steady decreases and your physical ability to go places also decreases. And this is all for normal aging.
Diseases you can develop are age related macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, hand tremors, mental disorders, MS, cancer, and a bunch of other conditions that will make it difficult or impossible to enjoy binoculars.
