I found your group a couple of months ago and wanted to make sure I started the 2025 challenge with you. I look forward to some great reading next year!
This question has been asked of me, because I read about 75 books a year. The answer is: I am reading fast and I read everywhere. I don't have a car and read while commuting. I read when walking to the Store. I read waiting in line. I read before bedtime. When out for a cup of Coffee with a friend, I read when the friend goes to the bathroom. I read while waiting in line. I read in the bathtub. I read while brushing my teeth. I think it's not about time. It's about your Brain wiring. Does reading relax you and give you energy, then you will do it, like others scroll on their Phone. If it takes focus and energy, you will have trouble to "find the time".
I wasn’t sure if I could do it this year, but I did finish! I always had one physical book going for myself, one (or two) I was reading aloud to my kids, one I was recording for the blind, and one I was listening to on Audible. I listen while I am driving, folding laundry, etc. sometimes I intentionally selected short books to fill a prompt. Middle grade books work great for this-and I have a 10 and 8 year old, but I read this genre for my own pleasure as well!
@@i.b.640I assume you mean “listening” to audio books in a lot of the mentioned examples? Nothing wrong with that but I’d suggest calling it what it is: listening. Since they are two very different activities.
@@wowkir Sorry to disapoint you, but when I write 'read', I mean read. I pull out a book or an e-reader and read a page or two. Edit: I actually have a hard time concentrating on audio books. I need more energy for it than for reading. It's what I meant with 'It comes down to brainwiring'

I tried the 2024 challenge with my sister. It was fun to read new things, but I don't know how anyone has enough free time to read a book a week.
That's totally ok! As long as you're reading, you're doing great.
