A6 or A5? I'm leaning towards A5. Had the A5 in 2014. Beat the hell out of it. Grabbed onto cars and pickup truck beds while riding with my one hand on center if handlebar. Jumped off curbs at full kick speed and it kept going. Did a SF hill decline and left sneaker rubber on the rear brake - heated up like Satan in a bathtub! The quick snap folding mechanism made it a HOP OFF, KNEE TAP TRIGGER PULL closure movement I mean, it was quick and effortless. Never fell on A5. --------------------- I got the A5 Air in 2017. Just like A5lux but tires were pneumatic (inflated). Also had the "anti rattle" quick release twisty thing While cruising along at kicking power (12-15mph) the fcuking A5air collapsed on me (folded) and sent me slamming to the ground. How had? I got X-rays to ensure I didn't break anything. Muscle impact was so bad I linked on crutches for 10 days ANTI RATTLE MY ASS. A5 didn't have that. A5 didn't fold on me. -------------- Current have A6 Bec of bigger wheels. SOB has the rattle twisty!!! While on a scoot, I went over a humped sidewalk and the fcuking scooter bottomed out, I had to jump bail on it. Larger wheels but lower deck?? A6 has larger wheels. That's it's only advantage. The rattle twisty blows Wider deck? You DO realize you're kicking with that other foot, right? Overall, A5 is the better scooter design The quick fold and security of it makes it so much bettee If they ever do an A7Air (12" pneumatic .please don't add the rattle twisty.
Evil Twin That was an awesome breakdown. A few other people on reviews have said the A5 as well but yours was detailed. Thank you, I was enticed by the A6 big wheels but the disadvantages you mentioned are a big deal. Gratitude and prosperity to you!
Larger wheels do not equal more speed. A larger diameter wheel will actually require more force to push and lose momentum sooner. Ask a physics teacher. This can somewhat be mitigated by bearings with a higher ABEC rating for a lower-friction feeling, and of course the larger wheels will reduce the feeling of impact (and lost speed) from cracks, but keep in mind these are still efficiency “road” wheels, not all terrain tires (which would be even slower).
But you don't get any exercise with electric scooters. On top of that, most batteries on electric scooters last only about 20 miles or so. There are some kick scooter riders who ride more than that, so if they were to ride an electric scooter and the battery dies, then they will have to carry the scooter around. Also, it takes several hours to fully charge an electric scooter. So electric scooters, in my opinion, are useless.
