Both Busch brothers have had quite the good redemption arc. Kurt's was absolutely iconic, and I'm really happy for him and the way he turned things around and made me, a diehard Jimmie Johnson fan, actually cheer for him. Here's hoping Kyle gets to race at least once with Brexton in NASCAR so both brothers can end their careers as icons who went from hated to loved.
Kurt Busch after early 2015 showed is character development, truly an example of any person being able to change, his brother has changed, but kurt is still more likeable than kyle
I disagree , Gibbs was going to cup in 2023 no matter what . Weather it was replacing truex , Kyle or Kurt. Kurt’s injury+reddicks signing and truex having sponsorship just made the decision easier.
Back when Kurt won the 500, I was there and at the time I was at all a fan of the Busch brothers, and I was a little disappointed I did t see a driver I wanted to see win. But now I’ve grown up and learned a lot about Kurt and Kyle, I’m incredibly grateful I got to see that win.
This is such a great story!. Being on top of the world being spoiled, kid them being knocked down to a lower team and becoming humble, And coming back to top tier teams. Another great story would be Maddie D if he actually did good in won races for the Wood Brothers. Coming from back marker teams to getting a chance at racing at a good team back by Penske, But he never won.
He sucks and Nascar sucks today's let face it started to suck after Dayton 2001 and now it's let play follow leader all cars are the same everything's the same and no real man racing just a bunch of childish sissies crybabies.. that never built a car from the ground up and working on the car all night on 3hrs of sleep. Then race a 3hr race Samething with the pit crew was the shop crew unlike today. And sleeping in pickup trucks before the race...
Kurt is still one of the best drivers ever. Wish he wouldn't have gotten hurt in the 45. They were in for a great year. Hate that all the drivers were complaining about the new car having crush panel issues and it took him out for his career.
2022 for that guy was such an up and down time... -Wife files for divorce -He gets his final win shortly after -Pocono being his retirement due to concussion
I've always found Kurt's career-ending crash to be life's way of getting back at him for his youth in the sport. He was never allowed to have a formal "retirement year" the proper way, and I wonder if some higher power did that by design.
Kurts been my favorite driver even years before I started to follow Nascar. Always loved the monster logo that emblazened his rides. And as Ive gotten more into the sport, Ive found such an appreciation for how real of a guy he was. He was brash, foul mouthed, and rough, but fair. We need more drivers like him and Dale, and less of these Logano/Hamlin types.
Kurt showed what happens when you get help and commit to bettering yourself and lifting others up instead of breaking them down. He shed his abusive and cancerous nature, and worked his way back to the top. A little luck, and he wins a race or two for Furniture Row.
I was so excited when I heard about him moving to 23XI, and then that win made it even more awesome and exciting to see how Kurt was gonna fare, then that fucking crash. I was so sad to hear when he announced he was out. That win was such a cool moment, a sign that he still fuckin had it, and to have it all just ruined shortly after was just, ugh. I never used to care for him but when I started respecting, then of course liking him it was different. When I started following the racers rather than just the cars, I kind of hated Kyle, then he kept giving fuel for that, but in the past year or two, in my eyes, he's been regaining respect and honestly at RCR he's doing great, and I hope to see him keep that up. It's gonna be a really, really sad day in Nascar when the last Busch brother, a former Shrub who grew into his own Bush, leave the sport too. They sure do keep it interesting as fuck. In short, thank you for making this video. I commented before finishing the video, now I've finished it and that was my first time seeing both the win/aftermath with the crew, Denny, and Kyle, and the crash, since they happened. Weird to see what I thought was a special, exciting win be so bittersweet with hindsight.
Amazing doc u made! Very good! Keep it up man I'd like to hear more docs on other drivers. Keep this up cuz your good and I'm not the only one who likes these
I watched this video all the way through until I read your channel name could be a coincidence but I had severe ptsd of a dude with the same name the would wreck everyone in the nascar heat games.
@@ihave40winsyt wow I can’t believe it’s actually you 😂 i just remember back then every time I got in a lobby with you I’d either win because you took out the leader or I was a victim of yours. I definitely remember raging pretty hard😂
Love Kurt Busch been a big fan of his since day one. But that period at Penske did him no good and getting fired from Penske was the kick in the ass he needed. Phoenix was a shit deal from the get go. Furniture row Racing was the career restart he really needed
Very good summary. Man.. A great career all things considered. But, the only man who can get in kurt's way is himself. Hell, Jack roush let him go early, and that basically never happens. You stay, our pay out big time, so he must've especially overstayed his welcome. And, After all, you don't end up racing for Phoenix racing on accident, despite a championship to your name, and very very strong ride opportunites beforehand. Guy was an ass to his team, and himself. Shame he learned his lesson a little too late. Would be great to see him still in the cup series, but, I do wish him a peaceful retirement. Forever a champion, forever a Daytona 500 winner. P.S, has there even been a total tally on how many crying towels he's received over the years?
@@tloz171nfs But the 2017 Daytona 500 was one of the wrecks that was out of Jimmie's control. They were racing like it was less than 10 to go, when it was really about 70 laps left, and Jamie McMurray forced it 4 wide in a hole that wasn't there, causing a big accident.
@@cito1101 I know, but I'm saying it's understandable for Kurt to assume Jimmie caused it when he caused so many other wrecks even if he didn't cause this one 😂

i think kyle will race wit brexton in the truck series full time within the next decade
End their careers.... I can't imagine NASCAR without Kyle
I find it amazing how he went from decent to being the most hated driver to becoming one of the most well respected competitors in NASCAR
it’s definitely one of the best personality turn arounds i’ve seen
Kurt Busch after early 2015 showed is character development, truly an example of any person being able to change, his brother has changed, but kurt is still more likeable than kyle
Kurt will always be my favorite when it comes to The Busch Brothers Even though I have warmed up to his younger brother Kyle
exactly the same
"top 3 in a Finch car" said so casually. Thats an incredible result.
If he drove the #45 in 2023 Kyle stays in the #18 with Ty Gibbs spending another year in Xfinity
that or rcr ends up releasing reddick anyways and he has to find a different ride for 2023
@ihave40winsyt if Aric actually retired after 2022 Reddick goes to the #10
I disagree , Gibbs was going to cup in 2023 no matter what . Weather it was replacing truex , Kyle or Kurt. Kurt’s injury+reddicks signing and truex having sponsorship just made the decision easier.
@@ihave40winsyta reddick/busch team would be nigh heavenly
Due to his suspension, and his brother’s injury, the 2015 Daytona 500 was the first race that didn’t have a Busch in it since 2001
Great video. Been a Kurt fan over 20 years. Still am too because I just can't find another one.
i was a ryan newman fan but when he retired i swapped to ty gibbs
After kurt signed with CGR i started to like him more

Lot of respect for Kurt. Hes been really a great ambassador for NASCAR the past few years. 💯 Respect
I believe Kurt was the last active full time driver to have raced against Dale.
him and then if newman ever runs its him

Excellent video! Very well done.
thank you

It's still boggles my mind how the new car was so unsafe, the fact that a back into the wall was a career ending crash is a damn shame.
