To anyone who wants to know the logic behind this settings instead of blindly copying youtube video, for your understanding,Processor power management is the setting where you can control the energy power travel through the motherboard and processor,.Lowering the maximum processor state only prevents your computer from using that much power, instad it control the amount of processor it can go above to. For example, if you set the plugin to 60%, your laptop can only use 60% performance strength to run applications, this is known as throttling down performance(reduce performance) as well as to prevent overheating

Just a small tip about this. If you reduce the max power to 99% this may be enough to stop your laptop from overheating. This is because processors have a turbo mode that enables under max loads and is disabled once you lower it below 100%. If 99% is not enough, look up your cpu to figure out the max temperature. Use cpu benchmark and look at the cpu utilization chart in task manager. You can lower the cpu usage 1% at a time until you no longer thermal throttle. If you CPU utilization chart looks like it is a wave, that means you are hitting the max temperature and termal throttling. Just lower 1% at a time until you figure our the correct settings. For my laptop it was 93%

    • @empirezen5013
      @empirezen5013 ปีที่แล้ว

In TUF, there is a choice of Performance Mode or Turbo Mode. When you choose Turbo the fan spins faster but at the same time allows the cpu to work more, the result produces more heat as well. But if I turn off Turbo Boost like you said (Lower it to 99%), does it mean when I select Turbo Mode (Armoury Crate), the cpu will be even cooler? (Because the fans spins faster but the cpu workload is the same)

@@empirezen5013 Hi, i'm gaming on a ROG Strix G17 with Intel i7-10750H. Reduce in Windows Power Plan the CPU Load to 90-96%. I reduced mine with the max CPU Load to 96%. In my Case the Turbo Mode in Armoury Crate speed up the CPU to about 3.9-4.2GHZ (normally with 100% it goes up to 4.4-4.8GHZ). My temperatures are about 10 degrees lower now and the perfomance is with max 4.2GHZ really enough. No Thermal Throttling and great FPS stability! You can try and check directly temperatures with HWiNFO to optimize Settings for your Laptop. Hope this helps

    WHAT WORKED FOR ME:
I didn't find anything, that can calm my CPU, so I tried this and the
problem seems to be solved now. Remember, it's not a fan glitch - it's
win10 causing your processor running too hot with no obvious reason.
Probably, you should thank your fan for its work, because it reacts the
right way and saves your CPU from death without any glory.
    1. Go to your control panel. Find administrative tools or something like
that. There you'll find something called event monitor.
    2. Take a look for windows events - it is located in a subfolder.
    3. Now wait for a moment when your CPU will started to run too hot again
and analyse what event causes that.
    4. In my case it was damn WinSAT.exe that changes PowerKernel or smth
like that with the code 12. So, yep, it change the power plan of your
    CPU.
    5. WinSAT was used to give your PC WinSCORE in previous versions.
Honestly, I don't know why is it still presist in the system and,
moreover, why does the system run it.
    6. One of the ways I use to block system apps like Cortana is to change
premissions of the flie or folder. Be careful when you do that. Just
find the file in system32 folder, click properties then security then
additional settings' button. Change the owner (its owner is
TrustedInstaller by default). When its done, go back to security
settings and change everything to deny state («System» too).
    7. Now the system just cannot do anything with this file. When you do
that, there's no way to some windows update to change it.
Besides, it would be wise to check your BIOS setting, trying to set all
the fan controls to default + update all the chipset drivers. I guess,
I'm too lazy to post this on the microsoft forums as a fix, so if it
works for you, please, let the others know. I saw «solutions» that
suppose you to limit your CPU power, changing power plan manually to 70%
or so. To me its obvious not a solustion at all, because it solves a
problem with the noise symptom and that's it. Whatever your plan assumes
100% or 70% of power usage, passive or active cooling, your PC must
work quietly when there's no load.
My 140watt processor was working @ 55C without any tasks with liquid
cooling and 140mm fans (≈5-10% CPU usage). Now it runs about 40C without
active cooling (fans turned off, liquid cooling only).

anyway, check your active processes and if you find winsat.exe, probably you should delete that exe like i've described above. if it's not working, look for the event monitor (I don't know the exact name, because my windows isn't english-based) and analyse the problem for yourself.

Thank you for this nice workaround, but it's not a fix/solution by any means.
After having applied it, you should try to find the root cause of the overheating. If thermal paste has gone bad for example, the CPU will be overheating silently without you noticing it. Which may eventually kill your laptop.

this thing works obviously, but that means your CPU will run at 75% of its max clock speed, which will make it slower, if you're sure overheating is not due to dust or a bad fan, if your laptop overheats due to bad design, like many HP laptops, this will work but try a less brutal setting of 80% and work your way up until a reasonable temperature.

hi there: thanks for this great and easy tip! The fan seems to be not as noisy and the hard drive seems cooler too!
Got a question though, will lowering the temperature on the max processor state slow down my laptop?
what is the unit measurement of lowering the %? 25% per bracket? or?
    thanks!

    • @soyboy3862
      @soyboy3862 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Lowering max processor state will definitely make your device run slower, because it isn’t using 100% of the CPU.

My PC was heating up to 83 degrees celsius in a game and then shutting down. This has only happened since I upgraded to Windows 10. I didn't have any overheating issues on Windows 7. I couldn't understand it. This seems to have done the trick. I reduced my 'maximum processor state' down to 80% and my cpu is fine now and no overheating problems. Thanks.

Thank you so very much! 😊👍My Dell Latitude Windows 10 gets extremely hot and the blinking orange light will start going off and my last Dell laptop would get so hot you could actually hear the battery sloshing around and it would turn itself off. On this one I would try to set it on top of various things including a wooden cutting board since the vent is on the left side of it, put a towel under it, a pillow, you name it but the heat was just so intense and when I looked up about cooling pads the votes were kinda 50/50. So far this seems to be working just fine and I will definitely post this on my Facebook just in case I have friends who are in need of this. Blessings to you! 📿~Sue~

Thank You!!!! Had I known about this awhile back, I could have saved my laptop. My new laptop was fine until the last windows update. After the update, my fan was going 100 mph & was getting really hot. I wasn't doing anything but on Twitter. So glad I searched & found this. I turned the speed down to 80% instead of 75% though. It almost immediately slowed down the fan & cooled off back to normal. Now to see if I can still play farmville (yea, it's a killer on laptops as well). lol
