You nailed it...fatigue leads to loss of focus. Try talking yourself into relaxing and staying focused when you feel it setting in (if you cant stop and rest a few minutes). I've gone down 5x in two yrs since getting back into MTBing. Fortunately no real injuries. Try stretching everything (shoulders, legs, ankles, wrists, neck, back, etc) before your rides. Good luck on your race and keep the rubber side down.
Just found your channel, great content and hope you get better bro! I’ve been in a couple of these “saw it coming seconds away” crashes, the best thing I’ve found is instead of trying to brake and steer back onto the trail, just ditch the bike and jog to a stop. Getting on loose sand and other gnarly bits will definitely pull you off the trail and steal your brakes like that haha. I live in Indianapolis so not much mountain biking nearby for me unfortunately, we have a couple of green trails packed with hikers and that’s about it out here :) really cool to see what Indiana offers on the North and South ends though.
