I always looked forward to Roseanne as a kid. I felt she truly loved Halloween and that’s why the episodes were always so good. I would kill to go a Lodge party🎃
My father HATED Roseanne but loved the Halloween specials, was the only time he would watch the show with us.....by that I mean we would have to go to our room and watch it on our 13" black and white television. Home improvement he still watched until he died, that was one of his favorite shows.
The Dinosaurs special has different meaning when you realize the food items in the fridge were alive the whole time and basically prisoners in the ice box for months. As a result it’s like prisoners turning on cruel wardens who forgot to set them free.
Strangest thing was I grew up watching Family Matter's all the time when I was a kid and yet I never saw or knew about the Stevil specials until years later when AVGN did a top 10 Urkel moments video.
Yeah, there was a time where Urkel ruled the '90s! Not only was there the doll, & a dance, that was featured in one of the episodes, but there was also Urkel cereal!
17:22 Still surprise me the actor who played Stevevil was also the Kid Grinch and Timmy the living doll from the soap opera passions, he was only in his early 20s when he passed away, so young.😢
That is rose colored glasses. I remember both the 1990s and everything that happened in the 1990s. Which includes the television shows. We are better off. These modern streaming services are great.
I wish they would release 4k/blu ray collections of all the holiday themed tv show episodes and tv specials. The 50s,60s,70s,80s,90s and early 2000s should each have their own multi disc collections including commercials and ads from those times. I have very few dvd collections like that. Some throw in episodes or specials that really have zero to do with the holiday season being 🎃🍬Halloween, 🦃🍗Thanksgiving and 🎄🦌🎅Christmas. I'd like definitive holiday themed collections that have lesser known tv shows that barely made it past its Pilot if that. 🙏Thanks again for the hard work and holiday themed content....🧐🤔I'd also like digital remasters of the rarely shown holiday cartoons.
This was an awesome list. I always looked forward to the Halloween episodes of shows and the 80s and 90d were probably the best time for them. I definitely remember looking forward to the home improvement and Roseanne episodes each year.
The Freaks and Geeks episode also featured the late great Joe Flaherty dressed as a vampire in a homage to his SCTV Count Floyd character. Very scary kids...AHWOOOO!!
The only one of those I saw was the Roseanne episode. The Roseanne Halloween episodes te fed to be good. I was in high school by the time Goosebumps became popular and felt too old for it. The other shows I had stopped watching for various reasons when they aired
I only remember "When Good Food goes Bad". As for the Family Matters episode, Ventriloquist Dummies always have an uncanny valley vibe to them. Which is why they're so unsettling and scary.
Another good Halloween Home Improvement episode is the one with Rose. Interesting fact: the actor that played Carlsbad also played Howard the Duck back in the live action movie from the 80s. His name is Ed Gale. Also, it was later mentioned that if Family Matters continued to air then Stevie-ill would have comeback only this time with an evil doll version of Laura.
My all-time favorite Halloween TV Series Special was from Highway To Heaven Season 4 episode titled I ONCE WAS A TEENAGED WEREWOLF. The star of the show Michael Landon was the original Teen Wolf so it's a very fitting title and you don't have to be a fan of the show to enjoy this one. It is the perfect Halloween Special and I'm shocked no one ever mentions it. My mom recorded this onto VHS when I was a kid, along with movies The Worst Witch Mr. Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy, so I've been watching all 4 of these pretty much every Halloween season for 35 years now.
Never seen that Home Improvement episode, but would always watch new episodes of that and full house and other shows that were on TGIF and other stations at that time so I’m surprised I didn’t see it 😢
So coming up from the bathroom, guess Stevil is a Ghoulie. 😉 Yeah, I've heard of the Stevil episodes, but don't think I've seen them. I have however seen the Home Improvement, Roseanne, and Dinosaurs Specials, mostly due to seeing them on DVD from Complete Seasons box sets. I am surprised that you didn't include any Treehouse of Horrors episodes. Still enjoyed this, thank you, and have a Happy and Safe Halloween. 👻🎃
Love this series! Earlier in October we watched all the Roseanne, Simpsons and home improvement halloween specials. One that i really enjoyed not on this list were the 2 from the show Martin. Those were so funny and worth a watch
I, of course, definitely remember the Stevil episodes!!! The first one was actually pretty creepy. The second one was also awesome, with the addition of Carlsbad. I hate that i can't remember the Dinosaurs Halloween special, as i was a huge fan of that series, so don't know how that one passed me by, & it looks really cool. Not surprised that it's not available on Disney+. That's streaming for you. Anyone remember the Parent' Hood Halloween episode "Taximan"?
Loved Home Improvement and Roseanne Halloween episodes! Still wondering where Fresh Prince is? Awesome channel, btw, I worked at a Retro Toy/Comic shop for years and we definitely would've had something like your channel playing nonstop on our TVs haha.
Thanks! We actually put together the Halloween special double-episode "Someday your Prince will be in Effect" but Fresh Prince and some others wound up set aside. For next year I guess. We wanted to provide as much Halloween content this year as we could. But we could see that it's time to get back on a couple regular video drop-offs right away so we'll be able to try out Christmas Special lists.
The only shows on this list my family and I didn't watch were Freaks and Geeks and Goosebumps, although my younger sister used to read the Goosebumps books. But I knew most of the episodes on this list. Roseanne, Home Improvement, Family Matters, and Dinosaurs had some of the best Halloween episodes. So did Boy Meets World. I don't think Full House did too many. Friends had just the one, but it was from the early 2000s. Even though it wasn't made in the 90s, The Big Bang Theory had plenty of them. During its 7-season-run, Young Sheldon had very few. Although not technically a 90s show, since it ran from 2017 through 2024, the setting definitely evoked that 90s feel.
Actually that episode of Dinosaurs is available on Disney plus, it’s season 1 episode 12.
I swear it wasn't there a week ago, but I guess I looked at the wrong season, thank you.
But we don't wanna pay for another streaming service! 😂
@@TheReviewStudios Their internal search is terrible. I searched directly on their site and get no results but external search engines can find it.
@@uncleben8012 right 😂
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug!
The urkle and home improvement eps live in my head rent free

Omg I used to have a urkel doll it was great I ❤ family matters boy meets world full house

All of them….television will never be like it was in the 90s to be honest nothing will ever be as good as it was in the 90s
Thanks
Civilation was at its peak in the 90's.
90s is peak humanity.
Literally everyone says that about "their day". I'm born in 85' btw and think 90's are peak lol.
That is rose colored glasses. I remember both the 1990s and everything that happened in the 1990s. Which includes the television shows. We are better off. These modern streaming services are great.
Tree house of horror 1-10 is just a list of top 10 90s Halloween specials
We didn't want to touch anything Simpsons related yet without putting a lot of time in to do research.
Future Simpsons video coming (Someday)

Tgat Goosebumps episode gave me the creeps
Yes
The Freaks and Geeks episode also featured the late great Joe Flaherty dressed as a vampire in a homage to his SCTV Count Floyd character. Very scary kids...AHWOOOO!!
I always felt so bad for the mom in that episode😢
Yeah, after watching it again with fresh eyes, wow.
@quackhell303 Joe Flaherty was perfect for this role, underrated by many.
The only one of those I saw was the Roseanne episode. The Roseanne Halloween episodes te fed to be good. I was in high school by the time Goosebumps became popular and felt too old for it. The other shows I had stopped watching for various reasons when they aired
The Alfalfanator😂

That Dinosaurs episode should be available on Hulu. I remember watching it last year.
Imagine a world where Family Matters never ended
People would be comparing the old to the new seasons.
@@FilmmakeroftheFuture like they do with The Simpsons and SNL
Roseanne Ruled Halloween
Definitely
Hell yeah, the Roseanne Halloween episodes were awesome, she had the twisted sense of humor that was tailor made for Halloween
You could make an entire series on the Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors episodes and how great they are
yeah we've discussed that same issue not only that It would be extremely hard to choose the best episodes.
@empire0, yeah, the older Treehouse of Horror episodes were awesome. The more recent ones, though,..... not so much.
@@brandonpage7087 Same could be said about the entire show :(
Freaks and Geeks was so short lived compared to the others.
Another good Halloween Home Improvement episode is the one with Rose.

My favorite was the old man Ackerman episode of Martin.
Nice
@trevor9416, yeah that one was pretty scary, cause of the ending! I also remember another Martin Halloween episode, that featured a haunted piano.

Your a damn hero btw for the links too I'd maybe copy and paste them in a separate link cause TH-cam will try to take this video down just for that

I'll have to check out that Parent' Hood episode I don't remember it.
It was a good one. In it, the youngest son, Nick, keeps having nightmares about a boogeyman, who calls himself Taximan.
Every childhood show should include a little bit of trauma.
Do you remember watching any of these?

The Stevil episodes are classic.
I genuinely had nightmares about Stevil when I was a kid
In the second “Stevil” episode, it looks like they used little people for some of the walking and dancing sequences instead of puppetry.
Freaks and Geeks is a fun show.
DID I DO THAT!!??
I hope you plan on doing a video on Christmas specials with the same idea.
We love hearing that! Thanks for watching and for commenting too!
Im just here for Stevil and Carlsbad
Good times
Do you smell what The Rock is cooking
Tool time really was a bizarre sitecom
Going in the fridge on Dinosaurs still creeps me the f*ck out. That episode is stiĺl the most horrifying thing I've ever seen on tv.
The really scary thing about this list is that they didn't include "The Boogieman" from Quantum Leap S3.
Who stars in that ?
I like the list but it's a shame there's no Sabrina the Teenage Witch Halloween episode, love that Home Improvement episode of Bewitched
Yeah, sorry. We ran short of time and space but we do have more, including Sabrina, set aside. Thank you for watching and for commenting too!
That's Bullshit, you left out the Martin Halloween episode which was legit terrifying, Bogus
There are so many left out. We could probably do a top 100 and still leave something out.
@@TheReviewStudios give it a watch is all I'm saying, your video was great I remember the Roseanne Halloween special, Happy Halloween 🎃👻
