Saw The Cure at MSG in June, and Simon just about set his bass on fire with his intense playing of this song. One of my all time favorite concert moments.
Thanks for this, one of my favourite songs when it came out in my very early twenties, now I can try to learn to play it thanks to the tabs you have put up on your channel, thank you and keep posting more amazing videos like this. 👍
@ Hell yeah man!! I’m stoked for you! I scored a super cheap old non American made Fender Squire Precision to learn on and it’s been great, honestly! Thing doesn’t go out of tune at all! Got myself a brand new (and my first ever) amp, and have been having a blast! I picked up the Fender Rumble 40 and it’s great! Welcome to the club, and happy future shredding to ya! 🖤⚡️🎸🤘🏽
Great video, I went into settings for the first run through and had you on 0.25 speed. Sounds a bit weird but it's a lot easier to follow. I then sped it up to 0.5 speed then normal. Got the gist of it now, thanks for the video.

Lead singer is Robert Smith not Robert Johnson
One of my favourites, I play this almost every day as a warm up.
Such a hypnotic bass riff. Love it

Excellent job with this one. A classic bass line and nothing fancy but man, it anchors the song. Exactly what is needed.
Absolutely best bass lines
nice workout song to practise consistency.

This was sweet thanks man, and you're totally right about Robert and Simon being the sound of The Cure. Simon is the reason I picked up the bass.
Hey! John Deacon made me wanna pick up the bass. Going to be picking one up soon!
Looking forward to learning :)

Great take, i really like the breakdown of styles and what key the cure play in
With all those cool comments and insights into the basslines I'd love to see you tackle something a bit more technically challenging

Could you do rock n roll by motorhead
YES!!🤘
Your hands did something very different from the tabs at 2:18 which version is correct lol
Some notes on the bass can be at different place so if you know your notes you can find out. I think both versions are correct
Absolutely awesome could you send me more
Shuffle type rhythm ?
Who's Robert Johnson?
He was just some geezer who recorded a few tunes in the 1930's the Devil had taught him. He then became the most influential guitarist ever.
Lol 😂
GREAT BASS PLAYING - JUST A BIT SILLY TO CALL ROBERT SMITH ROBERT JOHNSON
🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍
indeed Robert Smith
It said Robert Johnson and Simon Gallup lol
1:16
Lmao Robert Johnson OG
Robert Smith not Robert Johnson :)
IMO the chorus riff is played from down on the neck
Lo que tocas en el 1:19 y el tab no tiene nada que ver…
sí está bien, lo que pasa es que ese si y do está en el traste 7 y 8 al final
bro throw your pick away and you will be god of bass 🙏🙏
anyways pretty good cover
What type of strings have you used for this? Flat wounds? Nylon? Thank you. Sounds almost like fingerstyle. Even if you have used a pick.
I am using DR Hi Beams roundwound !
@@PaulDelBelloYT Thank you. I neuer have Experten roundwounds. Is IT a fest Pick? Sounds real good
