    what are your thoughts on CIBC's mutual funds? I'm with them by the way...is it best to move out my money from them? and just transfer it to wealthsimple?

      I dealt with a client who had their MF’s with CIBC, and I can honestly say that yes you should move them out. When I moved them out to a fund company like Fidelity, they saw dramatic increases. Wealthsimple is tough because you do it all yourself and can’t take advantage of the expertise of the full-time money managers discussed in this video! Hope this helped.

    what is the cost to open an mutual fund?

  • @angelc3799
    @angelc3799 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    So I would pay approx 2.5% fee per year and maybe 5% when I sell in 5 years.
    The math would be 2.5%+1%= 3.5% plus taxes on the profits per year.
    So the mutual fund has to perform over 4% per year to break even? Am I correct or not? Could you let me know

    A bond fund can’t theorically out perform the market… that being said the fund manager can’t really work to beat the market return

    Recycle, I know about the some of the American Funds that are out there. Can you expand on the Difference between The Investment Company of America and New Perspective fund. Do they have a bond fund? Can you show us the portfolio that's inside each of the funds?

    Great content. Now if u just turned 40, is a mutual fund recommended if u don't have a lot of $ but plan to hold for at least 10 years?

    • @beaviswealth
      @beaviswealth  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Howard! Absolutely.. a 10-year time horizon would definitely be considered long-term and there should be no issue investing that into an equity mutual fund :)

    I think Mutual funds are not very good. Over 80% of mutual funds fail.
