It's a common misconception that when a stock you buy skyrockets, the smart thing to do is sell it (or at least sell some of it) to lock in your profits. But the context matters. If the stock has increased sharply because the business is performing exceptionally well, it could still be a bargain. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas

Putting well-earned money into the stock market can be over emphasized for first-time investors, unlike a bank where interest is sure thing! Well, basically times are uncertain, the market is out of control, and banks are gradually failing. I was raised that the stock market was a rich man’s game(yep, grandparents lost it all back in the day and preached that forever) but I’ve been around long enough to truly taste just how profitable it can be, with inflation at 9.2% surely these are desperate times, but in my opinion there’s no market condition a proper financial advisor can’t scale through, especially ones that’s been around since the crisis of ’08 and before.

Because of dividends, I first began investing in stocks. It's important, in my opinion, to be able to live off of dividends without selling if you invest and make other income in addition to payouts. It suggests that you may pass that down to your kids and give them a leg up in life. Over the years, I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks; I continue to buy more today and will keep doing so until the price drops even further.

This global collapse might end up being a part of us for a very long time and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire. Personally I hired ‘’Eleanor Annette Eckhaus’’ a financial advisor who I copy her trades and with a good 10%-15% in ROI monthly.

Like Warren Buffet said, dividends are only good if the business you’re investing into can’t make good use of that capital. So if you’re trying to invest into businesses with actual growth, looking at dividends is a waste of time. Why are you investing into a company if they’re returning capital to you because they think you can make better use if it than they can. It’s not much different from bond investing. The way I see it if you have a $1 million at some point, that’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between 50k-70k in dividend income...

It's not difficult, but you have to learn and handle. Another thing is that if you can't manage your home, maybe you shouldn't invest on your own. If so, you should hire a CFP to help you diversify your assets to include ETFs/index funds/mutual funds and stocks of companies with consistent cash flows, rather than betting on penny stocks.

I used to work as an investment advisor. The advice presented in the video is excellent and holds true for the average American. While it's a fact that money can't directly buy genuine happiness, it does provide the means to access experiences that can lead to happiness. However, for individuals with a substantial portfolio, say around $5 million, if you observe closely, you'll find that most people in their 70s are still quite active (I live in LA), but by the time they reach 80, their activity levels tend to decline. So, it's essential to enjoy life at some point before it's too late. That enjoyable vacation might well be the experience that brings comfort in your later years. It's important to distinguish between spending money wisely and squandering it. Be prudent in your value-conscious spending.

I'm 54 years old and recently retired with roughly $1.8m in outside retirement funds, no debt, and very little money in retirement funds relative to the total value of my portfolio over the past 3 years. To be honest, the Fin-advisor's role can only be downplayed, not dismissed. Simply try to identify a reliable one. Spending money on possibilities and things that might not exist much sooner than we realize is completely different from wasting it. As you said, being value-conscious is essential.

Once upon a time, I was an eager investor. With high hopes and dreams, I diligently built my investment portfolio over the years. But as the tides of the market turned against me, my once-promising investments began to crumble. Stock prices plummeted, bonds defaulted, and my hopes faded away. With each passing day, my portfolio dwindled, mirroring the sinking feeling in my heart. I watched helplessly as my hard-earned savings vanished, leaving behind a lingering sadness and a stark reminder of the unpredictability of the financial world. I'm here again because I want to get back on track.I need ideas to get on on a recovery process.

You can get back on track by following this simple process: Take stock of your financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment timeline. Understand your investment losses and the factors that contributed to the decline. This self-assessment will help you communicate your needs effectively to a financial advisor. Remember to seek the help of a professional financial planner(CPF) as you start over, which is what you should've done from the get go.

You can search for financewithrobert to connect with him. I started investing in the stock market because of dividends. What matters, in my opinion, is that if you invest and earn more money in addition to dividends, you will be able to live off of dividends without selling. It implies that you can pass that on to your children, giving them a head start in life. I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks over the years; I continue to buy more today and will continue to do so until the price lowers even further.

It is easy to find constant low risk investments options that keep up with or slightly pass inflation, but anything above that comes at the cost of more risk. Are you a fundamental or technical guy? Day trader, swing trader, buy and hold? Are you willing to take safer lower investment income over riskier higher income? Do you believe in market indicators? Can you recognize if you are trading out of greed, or if you are trading with a plan and purpose with stops put in place?
