Hi! Long time lurker here. I also used your tutorial to make my first cosplay 2 years ago for Chainsawman. Going to make this mask next! Do you have tips on how to cut the foam in an angle? I only have an xacto knife and I'm scared about the pieces not matching up when i glue them together.
@@Dycoser make sure your blade is sharp and don’t stop. If you don’t think the angle is good correct cut with your sander. The gap pretty much gets covered up by the teeth anyway

making templates is the hardest part for most people. I have just worked with the material so long it comes natural to me. All of my templates are hand drawn onto poster board, I don't use any fancy programs or systems just something you have to practice
One question, I saw your video on how to print but how many sheets of this mask do you recommend I print? You explain that it is put in poster type, but that can be divided into many sheets, how many are there?
Clicking “poster” in the program takes the image and breaks it up properly regardless of what paper size you use. the image is already scaled properly in the pdf just click poster in adobe

Just cut an angle that’s a little less than 45 you can refine it with a rotary tool if necessary if you don’t get it great the teeth cover up ugly seams

I would have suggested maybe putting some over the ear loops to make it easier to remove if you're wearing a wig, plus it helps keep it look seemless
you can do whatever you want to your buid but I will warn you behind the ear loops suck and get painful by the end of the con day

@ personally I think 4 is to thin for the cut you’ll need to make. You’d need to glue some together or get some 6mm hd foam

@ unless you’re using something like spirit gum to stick it to your face I don’t know that’s why I made the full mask
but doesnt the mouth open in the anime is ok if you cant remake i mean is cool and i like it
if you want it to open then just add the steps I did in the dog skull cido on my channel but it's not worth the trouble

How easily can this be made on cardboard:)? Is it significantly harder or just a bit trickier?

How do you make the exact angle cut without any tool?
it doesn't need to be perfect and you can clean it up with a rotary tool if necessary the teeth cover any screw ups you might have
I currently only have 4mm foam at the moment, do you think it'll still work for the base of the mask?
I don’t know. 4mm isn’t going to give you very much surface area to glue the angled cuts
