Gardening is really overpowered in ts3. The red berry beans from university are plantable at level 1 and sell for a lot. Add in the gatherer trait from supernatural and you get perfect crops in no time. With a simple 5 by 5 plot you can get thousands with each harvest and with the consignment store even more. Edit: accidentally typed ts4. The horror. Edit2: Also you can just buy things to plant at grocery store. Also fridges come stocked with some simple veggies too. Edit3: Usually I only get the Super Green Thumb as a flex later on. Doesn’t really do all that much honestly. Then again I use dragons, harvesters, the grow station and plumbots to speed up the gardening…
To be fair, gardening is quite overpowered in basically all the sims games. It's one of those things that intentionally take a long time to get going, but are very profitable once you do. I mostly play TS4. One of the best money-making plants in that game is the dragon fruit, which is base game, sells for hundreds of simoleons (at normal quality), and can most easily be obtained by grafting two fairly common plants together. And, because they are so expensive, they make one of the best fertilizers. Add to that, plants in TS4 don't die easily, and the Money Tree is easily obtainable by getting max level and buying a few rare seed packets (added with Seasons),... and you have a pretty easy way to attain and maintain your riches.
@@jennynoelle6782 its not in ALL of the sims games. gardening sucked in ts1, it was not great in ts2 and ts3 really took it to another level even with the base game. ts4 is decent for sure... it can go places plus with the basemental mod you can become a marijuana millionaire very quickly lol

There’s a store set called “Grandpa’s Grove” that comes with a tractor that allows you to water, weed, and harvest while riding. It makes playing as a farmer so much better
I only ever sell items through the consignment store. Inventions, paintings, sculptures... all the things your Sims can make, sell it at the store. Yeah, you don't get money right away but I find they usually sell for more than just selling in your inventory. Plus, there are traits & rewards that increase how much money you make from selling consignments. Give me an Artistic, Perfectionist, Born Salesman sim with the Suave Seller reward & watch the money roll in.
Ryan: It's not a cult also Ryan: You don't have to be single...but I'd rather not take someone who's committed to someone else. You should be committed to my garden and nothing else
Also important to always keep one of the highest quality you harvested aside (in a chest or those supernatural cabinets or something) to plant when the previous plant is dead.
I think if you ever want to retry this challenge, planting your higher level produce only, and deleting your older plants, so that you end up with a perfect garden, will dramatically improve your profits!
I actually love gardening (irl and in TS3) I give my Sims the Green thumb, Gatherer, and Angler traits with the Perfect Garden Lifetime Wish. The home lot, I usually create with a garden plot and a pond. Throw in the Faster Gardening mod and the SwiftGro Gardening Station and you'll be hitting that Wish in no time and reeling in the Simoleans. Thanks for the upload!
Oh, what you should have done is rotate the crops, meaning replant better quality items that you harvested from the garden, just throw out the older plants. That way you'll start selling perfect plants in no time. Also, if you plant the items you buy from the grocery store, they start with a nice quality. Foraged seeds are always just normal quality, except for the death flower, that's perfect from the get go. Edit: No need to go to the gym for snacks, you can eat the plants you harvested. If your "helpers" start to get tired, make them eat the beans, that'll give them a buzz that keeps them working.

the quality of your produce determines its price, and harvestables are usually higher quality than the plant itself. so if you want to make money, you harvest - grow what you got - harvest - grow until you reach max quality (perfect), at which point you can sell your produce for up to 10x the price

Money trees, man. If you have a level 10 gardener, they upgrade sprinklers so the trees get watered daily, and they use excellent fertilizer (like life fruit) to the trees as often as they need it, and they harvest every day, nearly 2000 Simoleons a day per tree easy. Money trees are overrated, instead plant a whole field of red berry beans, row after row of them, and start a coffee plantation. You can buy them straight from the supermarket, there's no skill requirement to grow them, they're much easier and faster to propagate than money trees, and they still make insane amounts of money because each coffee bean can sell for a few hundred $ and you get multiple from each plant. The downside is you'll probably still need more coffee plants than money trees to make the same amount of money. But you still make a ton of money regardless especially if you get your coffee plants up to perfect quality, use sprinklers and other labor-saving methods, and raise lots of either birthed (better potential trait choices) or adopted (can start on later life stages to save time) children to become expert green thumb gardeners

I was never a fan of TS3 but it's a cool game. The open world concept and depth of the gameplay. A fitting prequel.
As someone who has been playing the sims 3 for 14 years. These comments still teach me something
I started playing Sims 3 again after so many years. I have tons of mods on it now. For some reason it feels like the days are WAY too short compared to Sims 4. Do you guys mess with the ingame time at all?
This was the best one omg
I really enjoy gardening but ngl you gotta be very patient and i get so lazy 😭
What kind of beast of a computer do you have to run this game
The butler will garden for you
I was so frustrated when you sold the stuff you hatvested you could've planted it
Get roommates and you can convince them to garden for you
You’d make bank with gardening if you plant high quality seeds and seellling the produce in the consignment store (idk why you ended up with selling them at the supermarket).
You need the unknown special seeds
The special seeds... the seeds that are special
Why is the sim suspiciously holding and eyeing an eggplant in the thumbnail?🤔🤔😏😏
Reading the title, yes, you totally can
Dude just convinces local rich people free labour in a shitty garden is "luxury off the grid vacation" or something
Cool challenge I might try that 🤣 love from Canada 🇨🇦🙂❤️
I love that the vibe of your comune/forced labor camp/farm is *blonde*.
ryan every video: im not a good builder
also ryan: makes the most beautiful garden 😭
