Dude's a weapon, not many UFC fighter's have good stand-up. Especially on this level, he looks like he's levels above everyone else. I haven't seen a lot of good boxer's in the UFC, only a few to name. "Cody no love," "Jose Aldo" "Chad Mendes" "max Holloway" "Dustin porier" "
Topuria is an interesting fighter to study because of how quickly he’s learning the sweet science. His early pro fights had him fighting out of a bladed karate stance and predominantly using his grappling to submit his opponents. But now every fight he adds new boxing techniques. He’s got Roberto Duran’s lazy flicker jab, Mike Tyson’s bob and weave head movement, a beautiful shoulder roll and Canelo’s reliance on body work… I’m excited to see what tools he brings when he fights Holloway because you have to be incredibly active with your jab counters or get steamrolled by Holloway’s creative combinations.
Ilia has the technical tools to beat max but im not sure about the physical. Holloway has an unbreakable chin and infinite cardio and has become very good at range while having lowered his previously crazy volume style. Counterstriking is the key to disrupt max's rhytm but kicks are hard to counter especially as the shorter man. It is a very fun matchup but with topuria's questionable endurance i would have to favour max if topuria does not shut his lights out.
@@gamessportsandmore3371 I agree with you. Max has definitely refined his style recently to fight more tactically at range. And his durability and cardio do make him a nightmare to deal with. I have noticed Ilia has a really tekky calf kick that he times when his opponent v-steps into it. If this was Max a few years ago who plodded into range and constantly v-stepped to counter, he’d be fodder for Ilia but I think Max now is going to be hard to corner and counter strike because of his evasiveness. Ilia might not have the cardio to keep up with Max for five rounds but after seeing him eat that head kick from Jai Herbert, I can’t question his durability. Most likely I think he loses to Max in a close decision. But if Max does eat a few calf kicks and gets backed up to the fence like Gaethje managed a few times… he might not get knocked out but it could bank Ilia some rounds. Very interesting scrap, very hard to predict!
@@zaccaeus8426 I think topuria got the power to beat max but we see. He also shorter and gonna rip them liver shots to the body all night. Max struggle against shorter fighters
@@zaccaeus8426 could go either way for sure, i see it at range as an advantage for max and up close significantly in favor of ilia. i would go with holloway in a decision but it would be close. i think max will once again eat some ridiculous bombs that would ko anyone else and just barely look dazed as usual and discourage ilia.
Ilia has actually said on record said he’s a huge canelo fan and studies him.
