If I remember correctly, its the only CCXR Edition in RHD, saw it once which was also a right hand drive unit when it had a short stay at Singapore. Crazy looking wing. Thank you for the full tour of this car! Its been so less documented, given the ultra low volume of one.

I like the fact that Mr Christian Koenigsegg himself was on the record for saying that the C8 Corvette is the best performance bargain you can get . And how blown away he was that GM could offer such performance at such a reasonable price .

I have picture's of myself stood next to this car when it was for sale in Broughtons in Cheltenham many years ago for £1.7 million. 👍👍

This is my favorite Koenigsegg model. I'd much prefer this, to any modern supercars. Including the P1, 918, and LaFerrari. Very cool. Thank you.

You have a brilliant straight guy at hand in Tony and you’re a fantastic presenter with a great sense of humour. So how about something feature length (or at least an hour!)? Travelling across Europe and putting Tony into various challenges would have us all glued to your channel. Not that we’re not already glued!

Glad to see liked the Egg...for fans of the Egg to see someone who is not a fan and turn your nose to them a bit, via social media bias; yet get to sort of unappreciated-ly test drive said exotic million pound hyper-car is difficult to witness and endure, if you can see my perspective anyway. I mean can you get a more-ish unbiased view from a reviewer..I think not? You definitely picked a good one to test...that manual Egg is a unicorn like the CGT's are?
Shocked that you would miss the Quail on it's return after the last two year absence...considering your channel. Even more shocking is that who went to the Quail and how little was covered...something is definitely going on behind the scenes by the looks of it...? Just over 1,200kg’s and 1000hp with a manual box in a well-resolved, low volume package has to be impressive!
I’m with Sam as to the image of the brand, but this video goes a long way towards reminding us that behind all that, there’s a fundamentally excellent vehicle founded on obsessive engineering principles.

Ok the way that put down power on the country roads so comfortably is borderline scary. What a car! Now to try convince Zachs Garage to let you have a go in the Regera!
The linear power delivery probably comes from the superchargers, it has two! Always been a massive Koenigsegg fan, ever since the cc8s on project Gotham racing 2.
Thing is, STG, that Koenigsegg on TopGear back then was their only show car. It wasnt set up for going fast round a track at all. Back then you would manually fiddle with suspension and different things on a Koenigsegg. Amongst other things, it didnt have a rear wing at all. Chris Harris tried one back then and hated it because the owner had fiddled with it and completely messed up its handling and stuff. So Chris Harris wrote Koenigsegg off as a silly fad of a car.

I completely agree with you on koenigsegg I think we got lost in the specs and forget that there actually probably really good cars to drive, as all ways keep up the good and don't be so hard on yourself we are all here because we like cars and enjoy your energy that comes across on camera, ✌️👊
I think I have the same or a similar feeling about Koenigsegg as you. As a car enthusiast, you know Koenigsegg as that halo car from the original Top Gear, but besides all of the brilliant engineering, it was (and probably always will be) a bit too show-offy for me. Not that your typical Ferrari isn’t that as well, but then heritage comes into play.
But anyways: I’d love to have a go in one 😅

The issue, I find, with Koenigseggs is that they're bought to show off, they're not bought and are shown off.
Similar thing with a white mid-engined V8 Ferrari with red wheels and a bright red interior. It was bought to flex. Not bought to own and love and happens to be a flex.
I would say that is same with all of hyper cars, Bugatti, Ferrari (Enzo, LaF), Pagani, McLaren P1. They are all seen as a show off of how wealthy somebody is. I would say that to general public Koenigsegg is least known and recognizable hyper car of them all.
@@Vanilla.coke1234 Fair point, except what is to be noted is that if any newcomer in the segment enters this segment that’s dominated by players like Koenigsegg, Pagani, Bugatti, etc. they’re all building cars that are meant to appeal to the customers and buyers of the hypercar market, so of course Koenigseggs, Bugattis, Paganis will be bought to be shown off. Also, Presence matters in the hypercar/megacar market.
Let me just say: As for people buying a Koenigsegg in particular for showing off, there’s just hundreds of customers that have different cars. They all have different forms of usage whether it’s for daily driving or tracking. Then you’ll also have those that are sadly stowed away to not see the light of day ever again. Even then, according to a Koenigsegg registry account that I follow on Instagram, you’d be surprised to see how many of them are quite often driven.

It's not that Koenigseggs are show-offy and that's bad, its that most of the people screaming about them online wouldn't give them a second look if they didn't come with a lot of the gimmicks they do. Like, as soon as there's something crazier to gawk at, they'll move on (and they do. Especially on social media where it doesn't even have to be real. Just vapourware bullshit that brings more attention).

If we're talking about those people that just "Gawk and move one", those people never really admired cars for the right reasons, hence the whole gawking then moving on to some hot vaporware BS. Koenigsegg was never one to show off for that crowd. They just have a habit of doing thing uniquely through innovation. If by "gimmicks", you mean technology like the 9-Speed Light Speed Transmission (which is known for lighter weight than a typical DCT and shorter gears that can jump from one gear to any other within a switch), HydraCoup/Hydraulic Coupling, Koenigsegg Direct Drive (the single fixed gear in the Regera), and even the Freevalve Twin Turbo 3 cylinder engine in the Gemera; then yes, that's what makes them unique and gain attention. Besides, everyone is all concerned about just top speed, weight, and 0-60, whereas Koenigsegg has captured everyone's attention through interesting technical solutions. Anyone that's been a koenigsegg fan since day one, understands what makes Koenigsegg different from the rest and that alone gives us a different understanding of how the company came to be.
