Cool! I use the 2023 Gravity Pro and I added 4 grams total at 3&9 and no over grip and Alu power at 21/20. It’s the best racket I’ve ever used. I switched from my trusty PT10’s! From 90” to 100” and basically the same control but way better
Talk about good timing! I’ve been demoing MP and Pro for the last week side by side and although I used the older version of the Pro, the MP this time around felt better on contact to me but overall was just too light. I thought it actually even at the low weight handled heavy hitting fine, but my swing was too fast with it. I’m still customizing the MP before committing, so thanks for the video! I wish they sold the Tour in the US, it has the 18x20 pattern I like from the Pro and the thicker beam of the MP which helps the feel. Great video!
Thanks 👊 yea I wish they had the Tour here as well, but in a 16x20 pattern…that would be great for my game style. And I agree, the Gravity Auxetic MP is a very solid frame for its weight class💪💪
I actually just bought a second one, because I liked the first one so much. Interestingly enough I weighted mine up and it came out to the same static weight that you show. Although I have no weight on the hoop but added 12 gm into the handle and an overgrip. Mine is 334 static weight, 7.5 points headlight and a swing weight of 322. Head did great spec-wise, because I was able to match both frames exactly. This is probably the best racquet I have ever used, and I have use many. With Natural Gut mains and ALU Power in the crosses is pure heaven to hit with.
I also have the mp, which is a great racket! I play with a linx tour string, but I lack a bit of power. Did you add the weight for stability on heavy shots? or for power on the serve? what stringing do you recommend for the alu power? Thanks :)
I did it as well, mine was exactly the same of yours 🤗 I loved it but ended up selling it as had troubles on my shoulder. A year later I switched back to Gravity Tour, I’m around 324g finished
Very nice...yea man, good deal, always listen to your shoulder...Ive had two surgeries, and still suffering from my second one, also developed insomnia so its a complete mess!
I have the previous version. I actually just purchased it a few days ago because it was on sale. I put 7 grams of lead across the top and two grams on the handle. This allowed for some lead at 10 and 2 for stability as well as lead at 12 o'clock for more increased swing weight. I used more lead up top because my swing weight was way under spec at 311 grams strung, even though static weight was spot on at 295 grams. I played a match with it for the first time yesterday and let me tell you, the MP is way way better than the Gravity Pro, which I also have. The flex and feel is amazing. It has a bit of an old-school feel, but with lots of power on tap. I too like this one better because of the 16x20 with more spin. However, you'll need to string it at 52lbs or higher with a poly if you want more control. EDIT: I removed the lead at 12 o'clock and stayed with 2 grams of lead on either side at 10 and 2 o'clock. This allows a faster swing while still maintaining the plow through and stability on off center shots. With a 2 handed backhand you get some serious pace and stability.
Great info 👊 we use a Wilson baiardo for all of our sticks, and it strings super tight imo…also, with my injuries I have gone down in tension quite a bit with time…back in college we had the crank machine in our apartment and had to get up to 60lbs for our sticks to feel decent😆
Hey! Just curious to see how much weight you put in the butt? I am playing with putting 2 grams at 10 and 2 and use an over grip, wondering if I should put 4g to keep it balanced or also account for the overgrip
@@pugnax616 there’s probably 8 grams on the handle from midway to the bottom. It makes the stick more headlight. I ended up just leaving about 4 grams at 12 o’clock. Swing weight is about 330 depending on what string you use. I played with it numerous times and finally I bought new grommets and put the lead underneath the grommet/head guard so that it can’t be seen. I also changed the pallet from a 4 to a 3. I ordered 2 more grommet sets to modify the other two frames. I want all the racquets to be identical in weight, balance, and swing weight and no lead showing anywhere.
Excellent video, I modify and experiment with my rackets frequently, in terms of adding weight to the handle if it is a muted racket I put a leather grip to increase the feel, on the contrary if it is a too stiff racket I use the Wilson replacement grip Shock Shield to It will help mitigate some vibrations, and if I just want to add weight I also putty inside the butt cap or a bit of lead tape under the replacement grip, I've never used silicone because I think it's too hard to remove if I ever want to. greetings.
Very nice and good info. Thanks for that 👊 Yes, the sealant I’ve used sticks to the inside of the grip and is extremely difficult to get out. I’ve used mostly lead tape under grip in the past as well, which I’ve liked. I like to experiment as well, and Back in college I would shave down the edges of the grip to make it smoother and rounder 😬

Omg thank you so much for this. I just bought a Gravity Pro and like it a lot because of the pops. But I play with topspin and always with 16x19 (probably same like you do). Not really used to 18x20 that much. Do you think the stability on the customized MP can level the Pro?
I think so 100 percent. I’ve been trying it customized lately and it handles heavy/high level tennis just fine. I suggest trying it. Especially since you don’t like 18x20 too much.
If you don't want the ball to "fly", increase the tension. 52 to 54lbs is fantastic for this racquet. It has so much feel and power, especially on returns. Love this racquet way more than the Gravity Pro. The Pro is like a board compared to the MP.
Yes the MP similar weight to the pro version is better 👍 have you tried the radical pro….might be the stiffest MF of all rackets lol, my arm said no after a session, but continued to use it to get a good test on it, bad idea 😩
@@tennisviking really?! I’ve heard so many rave reviews about it. I didn’t like the last version. They’ve totally destroyed everything the radical used to be.

I just purchased gravity mp would you recommend it for beginners to customise as well? Or should I customise in the future when I become an advanced player in future? (I was just thinking to replace to a leather grip and add overgrip)
Definitely try it as is first, and go from there. You want more pop add some weight to head, go easy at first. Then after you can even out weight in handle. Coach Patrick prefers leather grip, and I prefer lead tape under the regular replacement grip…so it’s a personal preference 👍
I just picked up the 2023 Gravity MP because of the 16x20 pattern even though we have the tour and the pro version here. Does the racket felt sluggish after lead tape on the head?
Felt better after more weight in the handle, first it was too head heavy. I wish we had the tour version here in the US. They should have released it in a 16x20 for sure…big mistake by HEAD. How is the tour version??
@@tennisviking I haven't tried the tour version yet as we don't have demo program here. I also opt for the MP due to the string pattern even though I'd love if Head produce Tour version in 16x20 not 18x20. I'll try to add weight on the handle then but how many grams do you recommend?
Love your videos! Please give shift 315 a try for review! Also between the pure drive tour and extreme tour that is weighted, how similar are they? Interested in getting them too and trying lower tension range for countering since I really see the benefits from these stronger racquets, as my backswing strokes are also not that long.
Would love to try the Shift, haven’t gotten my hands on it yet but hopefully soon 👍 The PDT is slightly stiffer than the custom Xtreme, and has more open string pattern…so more pop and spin, so a more fun racket. The Xtreme is more dependable and under pressure I can control it better…I enjoy playing with both and it honestly depends on the day…like if I’m worn out and still have hitting lessons, I’ll grab the PDT 😆 if I’m playing like sets with a lesson, I’ll probably go with the Xtreme👍
I did try and customize the Radical MP, and I liked it best of any of the Radicals, but order this one: check out this video where I work on the Radical MP th-cam.com/video/Uq97tmdm7fs/w-d-xo.html
i have recently picked up a speed pro... i swing hard (115 on 1st serve), and thought the added control might benefit my game, but switching from 16x19 from my radical has been not very friendly for me. full bed of tour bite poly strung at 50lbs and my balls are flying about a foot long and if i try to lower my launch angle it goes into the net....not sure what is causing this. i hadded a leather grip which i do like as it increases overall weight...thinking about some lead tape. not sure if i should go for 3-9 position or 12...any thoughts?
Nice serve bro 💪💪 you’re crushing mine big time 🫣 I would add a little at 3-9, and go from there, maybe start with 2 grams total in the head and see how it feels 👍
You inspired me to give customization a shot! My project: Wilson Blade 100 V8. 303g unstrung, Wilson QC🙃. Had to follow Coach Patricks advice so removed the standard grip, and added a leather grip. 314g with Babolat Leather grip. Not sure how your leather grip only added 5g of weight. I did however keep a bit more of the leather grip than normal grip length on Wilson, as grips on Wilson are so short I swear they are made for 1h backhand players. I added 3g lead at 3&9 (so 6g in total). 337.2g with Head Lynx Tour 1.25 and 341.3g with Yonex Dampener. Normally I play with an overgrip (Yonex SuperGrap) but seeing that is another +4g I am a bit worried I might have ended up a bit over the weight I had envisioned. I normally play with Yonex Vcore100, both of my sticks are 327.5g. I also play a lot with my Yonex Ezone DR98 which is 335g. Got a Pro Staff 97 v13 that is 339g, all these are similar to the Blade minus the leather grip. Do you think I went overboard on my Blade?
I love it 👌👌👌 you gotta get after it and you definitely did 💪💪 you can always take a bit off here and there and replace leather grip with standard replacement grip. And yes, the Wilson handles are only made for oneys…I cannot grab both hands comfortably so you going longer with the grip is fantastic imo….only thing I would recommend is putting an overgrip on, the extra 4-5 grams you won’t feel as much since it’s in the handle…but putting an overgrip on will make it more comfortable, less calluses, and a bit more shock absorbent for the wrist/elbow. Lmk how it feels, sounds like a beast of a racket. I did switch back from the leather grip haha, wasn’t for me but Patrick is still all over it.
@@tennisviking Tested it at my group clinic for 1hour yesterday. Locked in from the first ball. FH felt great, did not feel like I got too little topspin. BH felt really great. Did a FH drill: Baseline FH DTL -> Short ball on service line FH DTL -> Short FH volley. Now I am bad at volleys, but with the added weight it felt really solid. Hit some great volleys actually. Slices were nice too, a bit lower than on my Vcore100 but that's actually a good thing. We played some "team singles" where coach starts the point with feeding us the ball. I hit the nastiest FH slice that I've ever hit from that feed, knew instantly my opponent could not get that ball. The look on my coaches face, haha she could not believe the shot I made. We only got a few serves in before playing doubles the last 10mins, and that was the first time I struggled with the racket. My timing felt off. Kept hitting the ball into the net. I assume it was because I'm not used to a heavier racket. When the serve did go in they could not return it though, and I did hold my serve. So I assume the timing thing is fixable. Overall, the racket exceeded my expectations!
@@tennisviking One negative side of it though: After the session I did feel something outside of my right shoulder. It wasn't an issue, but I've never had that feeling with any of my Yonex rackets. I had a similar feeling after using my Pro Staff 97 V13 as well, but it was worse with the PS. I am not sure if it's a Wilson thing or a weight thing. Just seems a bit odd that the 7g extra on this Blade vs my Yonex Ezone DR98 is the thing that tips the scales. My stringer suggested it could be that I use my right arm too much when hitting FH, and that I need to assist more with the left hand/body. Now I do feel I actually do a good job at this, but from time to time I get lazy with the loading of my FH and maybe it's those times that punish my shoulder more when I use the heavier Wilson rackets. I did put an overgrip on btw, total weight is 342g.
@@Nessaj87 thanks and great feedback…but yes, the extra weight can give you some soreness and irritation immediately…we hit so many balls so even though it’s only 7 grams, that’s compounded over let’s say 400-500 swings in a good session. Maybe your shoulder will adjust but if it continues to be sore after several sessions, then take some weight off and or lower string tension, and or remove leather grip if not already etc. Keep trying and find the perfect setup, that’s what I find fun and interesting with racket customization 👍 soon I’ll try and customize the TFight iso 305, that’s a bit head heavy but I liked the feel of it, I would like to add some weight in the handle and give it a go…also have some diadem elevate I need to review and the head boom mp and pro…so a lot of fun stuff ahead to test and customize 👍
@@tennisviking Cheers for the advice! Looking forward to the tests 😊Still waiting for that Iga review 😇 My Tecnifibre Iga was 325g so think it might be a bit lightweight.
Hello, thank you for sharing 🙏🏼. I have one question should remove Original grip and then put wilaon leather grip or i can just put another overgrip on it? I am a little bit confused with this adding weights to the grip… i am returning player i used to play professionally when i was teenager. Now i am 42 and I start again I started with babolat rafa but it was to light then I moved to speed pro and it is not heavy but i just dont like the string patern i find its hard to make spin an ball goes to the net a lot. So I bought gravity pm because of the string patern and i though it has a good space for customising because of the light weight and goot string patern for spin. I wonder why there are no pro option with 16/20 string patern.
I bought a head gravity mp 2023, I am an intermediate level tennis player, the racket is great and suits me, but it is a little too light for me. I thought to put 5g extra on it. what do I get if I put 5g on 3 and 9 and what if I put 5g in the handle.. what is your recommendation? tnx! Greetings from Croatia!
Do you use an over grip as well? Over grip weighs about 5 grams. If you do, then I would put 4 grams in head, and five in handle plus an over grip. It will give the racket more solid power and plow through, meaning more drive in your swings. It will also make it able to withstand more pace from your opponent since it’s more stable 👍
@@LucasNocella I've actually added leather grip the last several months which I like even better. Also got the Gravity Tour which I haven't tried out yet.
Hello, coach. Do you think the Gravity MP with 10g in the handle and 4g ate 3 and 9 is a good all around frame for someone who plays aggressive from the baseline and rushes the net whenever possible and is an intermediate?
Good question, and it ultimately comes down to personal feel etc. both great options. imo I can add more weight on the sides of the racket than on top…example 4 grams at 12 will feel heavier that 4 grams on the sides…therefore I can make the racket more stable and handle more pace by putting the weight on the sides, since I can add more before it starts to feel too head heavy.
They are close, but the new seems to be more stable and can handle a bit more pop from your opponent. If you can find a good deal on the old one, it may be worth the $$, but if not, then go with the new one…it has better paint job as well, feels higher quality with the matte finish.
Thank you!!! In some other reviews I saw that this new version is quite low in RA-59 and flex too much which is resulting like Wilson clash , unpredictable in stock form..Do you share the same feeling?
@@srinivasan-cv6gl it flexed more when I customized it but the standard/normal version just has a little flex which I think you should welcome, it gives the racket some feedback and feel. Now the clash is a bulky huge mess of a racket, and the flex combined with the insane frame and sticky paint job is a tragedy 😆😆 one of our coaches love it so it’s all personal I guess 🤷♂️🤷♂️
What customization do you have on the vcore pro 100? Thats my main raquet and I playing around with dif led positions. I have 3.5 grams total at 3 and 9 and 10 and 2 in my second raquet. Undecided which position I prefer. Do you have weight in the handle as well? What do you feel like weight in the handle does to playability? I used 300g sticks my entire life, so still getting used to more weight, which I need playing some big hitters 9-10 UTR. Great vid as always! Thanks!
I have weight in head and handle on that Vcore, check it out here th-cam.com/video/Uq97tmdm7fs/w-d-xo.html as soon as I put some weight in the head only, I feel I can’t accelerate the racket and will need some weight in the handle to balance it out and thereby speed up my follow-through. And yes, that added overall weight can help handle pace from big hitters, it’s all about finding that perfect weight for your game style….I love that 330-335 gram weight with everything included, which is about 310-315 grams unstrung…anything heavier my swing speed is just too slow 👎🫣
@@tennisviking Interesting, I have been playing with weight mainly on the head and have not considered balancing it on the handle. I think I will give it a shot once I decide where I want the head weight
Man, you just brought back some memories from back in the day...I played with the 200g around late 1990s...dunlop makes some solid sticks...I never tried the 300g...I would say this GMP is pretty stable and stiff but with a weird flex to it...so not sure how it compares to the 300g, but with that info, maybe you can think of if its compatible....or else stop by Denmark this summer and try mine haha. @@nicohorer2849 Just tried the Speed MP again and used it in my latest shoe review, and it’s better than I remember. Very smooth power, and yes, agree with ur comparison to the Gravity MP 👍
I used to play for two weeks with the 360+ Gravity Tour but it lacked that spin for me. Would u say the MP is worth trying? Is there a good amount of control? Rn i play with speed MP And i dont get as much control as i want.
Yea the gravity mp will have more control than the speed mp as well as the radical mp imo. If you can generate power on your own, then the gravity mp will work nicely👍 I needed some more drive so I customized the GMP and it improved the power level without losing too much control.
@@BostelD gravity will have a bit more control than the speed mp, also a little more flex and feel…so if you don’t mind losing a bit of power then yes, go with the gravity 👍
PS a little more soft and comfortable, GMP little more hard and responsive meaning you feel a bit more from the ball. Spin is pretty even I would say. GMP can handle quite a bit of pace so probably slightly more stable.
Thx...I'm little confused between GMP and radical MP auxetic as it is a 98 head , which one is more suitable for precision and stability against heavy hitters in stock form?
They are close, I would say the Vcore pro 100 wins if both are not customized, and they are a tie customized. Customized similarly, The GMP has a bit more responsiveness and you feel the ball a little bit more, and the Vcore slightly more power I would say.

Leather handle feels much too hard for me personally and also has too little grip in my opinion. You constantly have the feeling of having a stick in your hand and not a racket. 😉 Matter of taste.
I've had my Gravity MP since November last year--had massive improvement playing with it even by only adding leather grip. The problem was when handling heavy balls, the racket felt unstable and has no control. I also had to dig deep to hit the ball deep, thus putting burden in my shoulder. I followed your tips by adding a total of 5g at 3-9 and it worked wonders. I didn't what plow through meant or felt like, but now I completely understand. Even my coach told me I play a lot better. So thanks a lot for the video, it really helps!
i would say the Gravity MP weighted up is better than the VCP100. the string pattern is just more predictable on the Head. definitely the right pick vs the pro if you like open pattern. i followed this former korean pro, as he adds the weight a bit more spaced out throughout the racquet. 10+2, 4+8, throat, and handle/butt. final weight not as high, but i liked the placement of the lead. th-cam.com/video/xvouy9NHz4I/w-d-xo.html i personally prefer softer grips vs leather.

@@tennisviking thanks mate
How would you compare it to a similarly customized Radical MP? Thanks!
@@tennisviking thank you!
Increase the tension tp about 52lbs.
Only Big Brand racket series I'm interested in. Didn't really enjoy the Boom Pro. 16*19 and 16*20 are my favorite patterns.
Yea that 16x20 is solid, get a nice blend of power, spin and control 👍
My new MP setup: Stock grip plus overgrip and Dry Grap equals 15 grams to handle plus 2 grams at 3 and 9 for 333 string weight. Loving it.
That sounds spot on 👌👌👌 great setup💪💪💪
What was you're SW before lead?
do you still like my same weight configuration?
@@LucasNocella I've actually added leather grip the last several months which I like even better. Also got the Gravity Tour which I haven't tried out yet.
Is there a big difference with the Auxetics? I’ve got the previous versions of both the Extreme Tour and Gravity MP. Cheers
I would say more on the Xtreme tour than the gravity…the Xtreme Tour auxetic is my favorite 💪💪💪
@@tennisviking Cool. Yeh it seems the Extreme Tour Auxetic is getting big wraps out there. Cheers!
Hello, coach.
Do you think the Gravity MP with 10g in the handle and 4g ate 3 and 9 is a good all around frame for someone who plays aggressive from the baseline and rushes the net whenever possible and is an intermediate?
Why did you decide to add weight at 3/9 as opposed to at 12 ? I feel mp needs more plow through and 12 will be better, no?
Good question, and it ultimately comes down to personal feel etc. both great options. imo I can add more weight on the sides of the racket than on top…example 4 grams at 12 will feel heavier that 4 grams on the sides…therefore I can make the racket more stable and handle more pace by putting the weight on the sides, since I can add more before it starts to feel too head heavy.
Try lead at 10 and 2. More maneuverable and also adds more swing weight.
Nice review....Do you think the previous version of gravity mp is stable in stock form? How would you compare that with the new version?
@@tennisviking Great info..Thanks 😊
@@chuckfriebe843: very useful for me. Thanks 😊
Hi there, thanks for the video! Could this one replace my old dunlop 300g ‘James Blake’ Racket? Me playing old school tennis, slice backhand and all 😂
Man, you just brought back some memories from back in the day...I played with the 200g around late 1990s...dunlop makes some solid sticks...I never tried the 300g...I would say this GMP is pretty stable and stiff but with a weird flex to it...so not sure how it compares to the 300g, but with that info, maybe you can think of if its compatible....or else stop by Denmark this summer and try mine haha. Cheers!

12 grams total in the handle, plus an overgrip of around 4 grams👍
I have a speed mp and I want a lighter head, is this one ligther?
How’s this compared to the speed mp if you’ve tried that out before?
Haven’t tried the speed MP in a long time, my arm started hurting last time so haven’t touched it since. But maybe it’s time for a Speed comeback 🤷♂️
I have both, with Speed MP you get more power and Spin, the Geavity is much more controlled.
But with the Gravity you have to generate your own power.
@@nicohorer2849 Just tried the Speed MP again and used it in my latest shoe review, and it’s better than I remember. Very smooth power, and yes, agree with ur comparison to the Gravity MP 👍
Too pity head stopped importing gravity tour. It’s the best of the line for me.

@@ProfDrTeomanCemKadioglu Tour is very good. TLow power might come from your strings and/or technique.
@@tennisviking thank u, im struggling to hit my targets with speed mp, do u think It will be better with gravity? it was with gravity tour...
@@BostelD gravity will have a bit more control than the speed mp, also a little more flex and feel…so if you don’t mind losing a bit of power then yes, go with the gravity 👍
How would you compare this one with ps97l interms of stability and spin?
PS a little more soft and comfortable, GMP little more hard and responsive meaning you feel a bit more from the ball. Spin is pretty even I would say. GMP can handle quite a bit of pace so probably slightly more stable.
Thx...I'm little confused between GMP and radical MP auxetic as it is a 98 head , which one is more suitable for precision and stability against heavy hitters in stock form?
@@srinivasan-cv6gl radical MP will be more stable than the gravity MP👍
Thx...love the way you play the game..❤
Hey, grat video! how do you compare this gravity mp to your vcore pro 100?
They are close, I would say the Vcore pro 100 wins if both are not customized, and they are a tie customized. Customized similarly, The GMP has a bit more responsiveness and you feel the ball a little bit more, and the Vcore slightly more power I would say.
Hi can i just add the leather as overgrip instead of replacing the original?
I have the same question)
Is better than Prostaff v14 X? because i'm curious
For my game it’s a bit better than x14, slightly more pop and action, especially on serve….the x14 is my favorite Wilson though, and have nice control, comfort and spin…just need a bit more pop👍

Leather handle feels much too hard for me personally and also has too little grip in my opinion.
You constantly have the feeling of having a stick in your hand and not a racket. 😉
Matter of taste.
Yes, Agreed 👍
I've had my Gravity MP since November last year--had massive improvement playing with it even by only adding leather grip.
The problem was when handling heavy balls, the racket felt unstable and has no control. I also had to dig deep to hit the ball deep, thus putting burden in my shoulder.
I followed your tips by adding a total of 5g at 3-9 and it worked wonders. I didn't what plow through meant or felt like, but now I completely understand. Even my coach told me I play a lot better.
So thanks a lot for the video, it really helps!
You didn't measure balance and swing weight.
I did not, hoping to get a machine in the near future who can measure it easily and correctly…but they are pricey 😬
@@tennisviking Briffidi SW1 is great, and reasonably priced
Does not look like that much plow through even with all the added weight.
i would say the Gravity MP weighted up is better than the VCP100. the string pattern is just more predictable on the Head.
definitely the right pick vs the pro if you like open pattern. i followed this former korean pro, as he adds the weight a bit more spaced out throughout the racquet. 10+2, 4+8, throat, and handle/butt. final weight not as high, but i liked the placement of the lead. th-cam.com/video/xvouy9NHz4I/w-d-xo.html
i personally prefer softer grips vs leather.
Great info and thanks for the link…it would be fun to experiment with other and different placements of lead tape 👍
