So? The car is registered in Germany. Doesn't mean you can't drive it in Australia. WRC cars are all road legal because they need to drive on open roads from stage to stage.

No,they are BASICALLY not road legal. But you can go around this. In germany for example with a special registration as a prototyp car (§19 Abs.6 STVZO). Or you prove, that all additional or modified parts are safe to use on this car. If so (and an authorized inspector will prove this, not you), than you'll get additional entries into your registration document, which in the case of a wrc car bases on the production car. It all makes it easier, when those parts are allready been homologated by FIA (easier doesn't mean in this case, that you automatically get it registerated). Problems you'll get with the engine, transmission and exhaust system (emissions, dB-limits, the variable gear ratio). Also with the Body-Kit: if you got an accident with a pedestrian, it should not do more harm than the unmodified car would have caused. Next, the suspension which differs from that of the production car. The missing Airbag in an EU-registrated car (which is interestingly indeed possible)...it is a tough thing to get a rallye car through registration process (in germany, the DMSB will help you in this case with a special "Rallyecar-Passport" (KFP) that makes this process easier).
So basically NO. But after a long process of pleas and proof, it works very often (but not everywhere).

car only comes with a cup holder if you opt for the on board mechanic option.

When you think about it, there's no point using it when you're driving on the streets. The best thing to do when driving a rally car on the streets (for example, during the rally when the driver is on his/her way to service park or rally stage) is to relax and follow the rules of the road. 😊

a few weeks ago, i saw a rallye car on the road. didnt know, that they are allowed to drive on the road, here in Germany.
rally cars are all road legal because they need to be driven in normal roads from stage to stage

There is a German Rally... Also could be testing..?
Of course we have rally stages here, any road can be a rally stage, its not something that needs to be build like a track, rallying is legal road racing basically, just with one car after another and not all at the same time.

Race cars aren't built to idle, the engine gets hot very fast when there isn't proper air flow. Plus there is pretty much zero sound suppression for the exhaust.

Lol i kinda felt the same when in my mini cooper s r53 170hp exhaust got leaked, it was as loud as probably this car and additionaly i have Milltek exhaust with popcorn effect haha , it was sounding fucking great but unfortunately it was illegal and i had to have it done 2 days later :(
Btw. I have normally 117 db exhaust in ludest moment and with broken i jad prob 130/140 😂
