Im glad that you decided to split arthropods into multiple parts. It's such a large & diverse phylum that we've just 2 parts would have just been skimming the subject.
Jumping spiders are brilliant little creatures, perhaps my favorite of the chelicerata. I actively encourage people to see their beauty and leave them to their part in our world.
Gotta say I like these videos more than those with a lot of strong insults towards various fraudsters and ignorant youtubers. They are chill, pleasant, informative and allow me to regain long-lost knowledge of biology which was never my favorite subject back in school.
Sorry to mention this here, but it's pretty telling that Saboor was quicker to make a video in response to your last one than he was in actually responding to your email.
have you ever read Children of Time (2015), by Adrian Tchaikovsky? It's a sci-fi novel about a terraforming initiative that results in the evolution of intelligent spiders. You learn a lot about spider biology just by reading the book. :)
Can I ask a question? On FWS I do not see any other taxons prior to araneae. And I’m confused and don’t know what’s going on? Is there a reason why it’s not showing? Or does it not have a prior taxon other than arachnida?
I imagine he will, given enough time. Going by his Zoology playlist, so far the largest animals he's covered have been molluscs (specifically, cephalopods like octopi and squid).
Yeah he started from "simplest" animals, sea sponges, up the list to the more complex. Once he is done with the arthropods he'll get to the echinoderms, hemichordates, and then the chordates that aren't vertebrates first. There's a lot left of arthropods...all crustaceans and insects are included in this phylum. Then he has to do echinoderms phylum (Starfish, sea urchins) and another phylum for another group of animals called hemichordates. Finally after that he'll get to the most complex phylum, Chordata or the chordates. That is the one humans and reptiles and lots more are in. First he'll have to do the non vertebrate chordates. Then when he starts the vertebrates he'll probably get to sharks and fish and amphibians first before the reptiles. If you go to the beginning of the zoology Playlist he explains the taxonomy. It'll probably be a while!
I've always loved looking at their webs but a decent amount of fear of evaporated when I realized that one (an ordinary, but huge, house spider [Kukulcania hibernalis]) casually walked across my foot one night which I mistook for some floating cat hair. I had a cat at the time which suddenly looked up from the chair he was lying on and his eyes went wide. I looked around and saw this huge spider slowly crawling up my curtains. With my little knowledge, the only type of spider I could name that looked like it was a brown recluse, but that just didn't seem right to me (there's a reason why they're called a recluse). I got some good pics of it noticed the pedipalps were way too big to be a recluse. Ended up using reddit to correctly ID it.
@@ThangPVan_ I was a bit concerned given what it looked like after I took the pics. I couldn't get over the fact that a recluse wouldn't act like this though, being so much in the open. And it was much slower than a recluse as well. I figured that after growing that large, it must have done a really good job of not getting spotted by myself or my cat until now, and I was more concerned about my cat's safety, not knowing yet if it would be dangerous to him if he ate it or it bit him. After it was IDed (it's completely harmless to us and cats), I ended up putting some socks on as make shift gloves and moved it outside. It was surprisingly easy to keep it walking away from me in my socked hands.
Definitely will help, while never being an arachnophobe I wasn't exactly keen on them but since I've been learning more and researching spiders for a few years now I surprise sometimes how little it bothers me to handle most spiders but I still don't like handling some of the more weird looking ones or specific species I'm unfamiliar with.
Dave debate suboor on online. By the way nice lecture i enjoyed it even though I'm a mechanical engineering undergraduate 😂 i love your biology videos.❤
If they didn't want me to kill them, they shouldn't look like that and more importantly they shouldn't lower themselves from the ceiling on to my head while I'm chilling out.
oh gosh, I hope you're going to jump on Jumpers' intelligence. They are supposedly as smart as dogs, but I don't understand how considering the underlying anatomy & physiology. Or, maybe this series will help me with my spider fears lol ick
PROF. DAVE!! PLEASE!? PLEASE!? Watch, and refute this video!?!? I feel it's going to give Terrance Howard groupies something to latch on to in defense of him. Mainly though it's just horrifying to me that content such as this; as you say, will absolutely be the downfall of our entire society.

Jumping spooders are so adorable and inquisitive
they are the cutest spoods ❤😊
Yeah there are
They are very cute
And surprisingly intelligent. And some keepers report that some of the larger jumpers seem to recognize their keepers.
I love the way they turn their whole body up to look at me when I take pictures of them.
Literally the best TH-camr

If phylum Cnidaria got split into 5 parts, I can only imagine how many parts Arthropoda will get. My guess is 15 when all is said and done.
@@ExplosiveBrohoof for each land and water.
Dave, I appreciate the slow and careful pronunciation of the Arachnids and the others, thanks!
AH IM SO EXCITED I LOVED YOUR MOLLUSK SERIES AND I LOVE ARACHNIDS
I love their little petipalps so much 😭
Absolutely adore the tiny jumping spooder :3 All other insects and bugs are also super cool. Much love for the info Dave. :D
Thank you, Professor ❤

The chelicerate is one of my favourite subnautica leviathans in below zero

Thank you I very much enjoyed watching this and I've shared it with my son and I thought it was interesting that it was possible for my pace to go up
Very interesting.
Thanks Professor Dave!❤
Sooo right about Spider knowledge, no where near as dangerous as people make them out to be.❤🕷
Hollow hairs for olfaction. That's interesting.

I'm unreasonably fearful of spiders. I think learning about them will help me. Thank you.
I'm also kinda hoping that.
