You can't just blow up the beloved Sept with all those people, her family and the beloved king and queen included, and face zero consequences. The whole season fell apart because the writers forcefully wanted to make cersei the final threat...well one of the main flaws of the season 7 & 8. Why did they even need to even the odds b/t Dany and Cersei. Season 7 could've easily been about Cersei delusionally clinging onto power as the everything crumbles around her both internally and externally until she finally snaps and loses. Would've been epic to watch, and would've given Lena so much material to work with. Also, if they wanted to keep Cersei around longer, they could've had her abandon the city after blowing it up, only to return in s8 with the golden company while everyone is busy fighting the dead.. there are so many ways they could've done this that would've been better. Instead they rewrote Tyrion to be a bumbling moron who Dany refuses to fire for whatever reason,
@@starsimvidz yes exactly. Cersei is likely going to lose shortly after exploding the Sept in the books. Its logical and all been set up that way and will be brilliant to watch her go full tyrant trying to keep it together. Dragging the lannister name threw the mud becoming irreparable. Which is what characters like Varys for example helped to set up and wanted to happen. It's why he, spoiler alert...... offs Kevan Lannister the exact same why Pycelle died in the show. Basically Pycelle took his death scene and it was Cersei/Qyburn instead who did it. Anyways the show was doomed season 7 onward. 5 and 6 were rocky in areas but could have been saved if they started introducing the things that were cut from the books in season 7 instead. Could have remained a semi decent adaption but nahhh....rush rush rush. Even if we had the full 7 book material to go off of. Unless you believe that season 7 wight hunt plan somehow made sense lol. My favorite character in the entire series is Cersei btw, Ive never needed the show to be conventional. It just needed to be written by people who were competent. That or maybe the damn author of the books shouldn't have given up on the series that made him famous to work on dumb HBO prequels.
@@SerbAtheist Its not a conventional show or not issue. Its about making sense. lets take for example Cersei blowing the Sept. Tywin didnt took the death of Robb and Catelyn for himself also. Instead he let Waldo Frey take all the credit for it! because he knew about the consequences that could came. now, lets go to Cersei. She killed several noble people, a large number of common folks, religious people, and destroyed a religious symbol! now lets go back to riot in kingslanding when a small mob almost killed Joffrey, because the people were starving! Now lets go back to cersei, and in two seasons nothing happen to her in kingslanding. Specially when even Jaime mention that she only have 2 or 3 armies at best... which we do not know who are. In fact who support Cersei? North was against her, the vale and riverlands were neutral, Dorne or reach and Stormlands did vanished from the map (considered that rule houses were gone, and we dont even know who rule those regions and if they support cersei), Lannister army was cut to half number! But it seems she had numbers enough for nobody to question her throne! -Lets go to Missandei... Theres no evidence that cersei knew that Missandei was best friend of Daenerys. But apparently she give explicit orders to capture her! But not Tyrion or Greyworm? but Missandei explicit! Because it was lucky of Cersei that the only person her soldiers capture, was Missandei. It could had been anyone... but no! Luck help the soldiers to capture the best friend of Daenerys! -Lets go jaime and his arc or even his character! Jaime knew about Cersei and iron Island king affair... and then after having Sex with brienne, he kinda remembers "well i love this woman who betrays me, wanted me to break my word and even threat me with the mountain" Lets remember the conversation he had with brienne about killing the mad king and breaking his vows? or lets remember the conversation with Loras about marrying cersei? Jaime was like "screw that, i want a woman who can bring the worst in me, and will cast me aside if she can profit something from another man" -Should we talk about Tyrion and his desper attempts to save Cersei´s life. cersei... who torture him is full life, laugh at each disgrace that happen to him, she wanted to make his life a living hell, accuse him of murder Joffrey and wanting him dead. And now, the sweet and honorable Tyrion, forgets and forgives all of that... and wants to save Cersei. by the way remember "A day will come when you think you’re safe and happy and the joy will turn to ashes in your mouth and you will know the debt is paid." well, i guess not! even the writters didnt! Tyrion was not worried to save the people. Otherwise he wouldnt mention to jaime someting that happen in the last episode. He had mention that to Daenerys, and that would had kept the people safe! Obviously the list goes on and on. Again, its not a question of a conventional show, but a show that makes sense!
I’ve loved watching your GOT journey. I absolutely am so fucked off all these years later. Missandei should not have died that way. She should have gone back to Naath old and happy with Grey Worm. She was the most amazing person xx

I believe Dracarys means “burn them all” like the Mad King was known to have said. I think Missandei knew she would die and she was basically telling Dany to prepare for war and kill them all. But seems like Dany took “burn them all” a bit too literally lol
@@stargirl963 Miya already stated that she has finished the series a while ago so it’s not a spoiler for her. This video was filmed a long time ago but she’s uploading now
Even though I’m almost completely sure that the more violent meaning of Missandei’s “Dracarys” was what the horrible writers intended, I personally like to think that Missandei would have been thinking of the times when Dany said Dracarys when she was with her, mainly the freeing of the Unsullied in Astapor. Almost as if to try to remind Dany of who she really was. Not The Mad Queen. The Breaker of Chains ❤
Cersei decisions make no sense. It's like she wants to die😂 Why would you anger a Targaryen? Cause their history books are filled with the consequences of angering Targaryens.
U forget she was the wife of a man who ended Targaryens rule and a daughter of man who had them butchered. If there is anyone in the world who can look down on Targaryens its Cersei.

it makes sense if you stop trying to treat the characters in this show as human beings with proper motivations, and start looking at them as plot devices who will do/say whatever is needed to move the plot forward.
This for me will always be the worst episode of Game of Thrones. The death of her dragon was unsatisfying and stupid. The rushed death of Messandei, broke my heart and was completely unnecessary at a writing level for such an important character. I was so upset when I first saw it I prompted me to go to Reddit and read all the spoilers that had leaked about the final. I was so angry at the way the writing of the show had sped up and characters who deserved more where just being picked off to quickly wrap up the show. The Battle with the whites should have been episodes long if not a full season. The Battle for the Iron Throne should have ran for the last couple of seasons - I don’t even care if Dany’s story was still to go mad, it was foreshadowed. But the execution from the writers was absolutely abysmal.
Dragonstone is right beside kings landing if the iron fleet went anywhere they would basically go right by it , and Cersei been try to kill the dragons for a bit that’s why they started making the scorpions in season 7 they knew they went north to fight the dead and then were coming back to DS or KL from 7x7 meeting in they dragon pit
One thing that I think was done purely for viewer badass value was Missandei saying Dracarys. She was never the spirit to spread fire, but was calm and kind and collected. So that being her word made no sense. I’d rather she say something about the isle of narth or something in her mother tongue about all men must die…. Idk something more of value to her as a character
It was not done for purely badass value, it was her signaling to Dany to finally submit to her nature. She was literally back in chains after being freed, that obviously will make you feel traumatized. So yeah it made sense. Olenna said "be a dragon", and thats exactly what Dany did. Why would she say " all men must die" lol, that makes zero sense or value to her character at all. I am glad you weren't writing for GOT>

Missandei entered the show in chains and left the show in chains. The most unnecessary and depressing death of the show, she’s up there with Shireen who are just good people who didn’t deserve what happened to them
Missandrei is the key strategic advisor to a warmongering queen with a huge army of savages, brainwashed drones and three dragons who wants to conquer an entire continent to 'get what is rightfully hers.' Did Missandrei think she'd get a Welcome mat upon coming to Westeros or something? Anyways, Dany had a chance to save Missandrei's love, but obviously the Iron Throne is more important to her.
Yes she DOES want Dany to burn the city. Cercei knows she’s an unpopular queen, half her kingdom is in open rebellion, and she needs to either make herself look good, or kill everyone who hates her. Dany is the way to do that. She’s sure she can get Dany to burn everyone, OR get Dany to retreat because she’ll refuse to do that. So the people will either love Cercei for defeating the big scary dragon queen, or Dany will kill them all and Cercei will happily be queen of the ashes once one of the dragon guns kills Drogon. …because in case it’s not clear, Cercei is SO….SOOOOOOO overly confident that she will come out of this alive and beat Dany.
And at this point, she has a right to be over-confident. Sure, the dragons are scary when you first see them - but Dany's lost TWO by now, and one of them was taken down by Cersei's forces. She knows for a fact it's possible to beat them. She also knows Dany's forces took a bad beating in the long night, and that they surely haven't had enough time to rest. Meanwhile, hers didn't fight at all. She has every reason to think she'll win.
Remember Cersei never showed up to fight the dead. That means she waiting for Dany et al for when she came back. She told Jaime that Euron never went to the Iron Islands and went to get the Golden Company.
The plans to capture a wight did it for me. Tyrion is either stupid for thinking his sister that tried to kill him all his life and never kept her word is honourable or he is just evil.
ah yes my favorite part of GOT reaction series. When the reactor makes it to season 8 absolutely ecstatic for how the greatest TV show in history will wrap up... only to find out the show's writing makes less sense and is more garbage than a marvel superhero movie.

And this whole episode and the next were just ...they made no sense Also, I should've cried when Missandei died, because I really liked her in the show but this made absolutely no sense I didn't even feel anything
To be fair, the last dragon before Dany's was hundreds of years ago. Technology tends to improve over time. I don't know why you'd think the weapons they use now are all the exact same weapons they were using hundreds of years ago. These particular scorpions are also a brand new version that has never existed before, that was specifically built to take out dragons. So obviously, it's much more powerful than the ones they had hundreds of years ago, which were NOT designed specifically to take out dragons.
Why would Cersei want to anger Dany? Maybe cause they're at war people. She's not suicidal. She's strategic. She knows she can't beat dragons. She's done unless she can piss off Dany so much that Dany gets careless and maybe they snipe Drogon like they did Regal. It's her only shot at retaining power and that's all that matters to Cersei. People always rip on Jamie for going back to Cersei but whether it's fake or not, Jamie thinks she is carrying his child. He never got to be a factor in his other kid's lives. Powerful motivator! How many of us have had toxic relationships and we try something new like Brienne but you can't get your ex out of your head and we've gone back because it's what we know. Lastly Miya. I love your reactions. You basically questioned Bronn's character and in your anger you answered your own question. @@starsimvidz right...no reason anyone would bend the knee to cersei...a self appointed queen who committed several awful crimes even before the Sept thing (which is several crimes within itself). Homes and businesses all gone. Even if Cersei was likeable. She has nothing to offer or guarantee and is facing an unbeatable side who would likely crush and financial ruin or kill anyone who opposed them for too long. Why take the risk. But oh yeah everyone got stupid I forget. Let's capture casterly rock even though that makes no sense and surely civilian folk live there too so Tyrion's logic of attacking something that will hurt civilians makes even less sense. Even then though got to love the "we have 2000 hours" but in the battle scene theres only one horse LMAO. Also final note...worth mentioning Cersei is a woman lol...the first queen ever to be 100% accepted by the realm you think would require somewhat above average standards...the writing claims Dany will have it hard being a women compared to Jon yet most of the major houses are not run by lord right now but by Ladys...so seems easy enough to me. First 3 episodes were good. Fourth was horrible. The fifth is a visual masterpiece but yeah. The sixth, well, just watch it. D&D just wanted to rush to the end and run off to Disney for Star Wars while HBO & GRRM wanted 10 seasons.
@@ianvera4299 maybe, but those are the facts. In fact, GRRM wanted more than ten seasons, with HBO wanting “at least” ten. Don’t know how that would’ve worked but whatever. @@johnwaffle7917 Maybe? D&D only planned to do 7 seasons for 7 books, they actually over delivered and GRRM missed deadline after deadline. The fact is the last two seasons were still objectively successful in terms of ratings and Emmys. I agree there should be more episodes, but more seasons would add to nothing since TWOW is still not finished after a decade.
@@dmp1520 Canon to the show. The writers, when asked about that scene, literally said "Dany kinda forgot about the iron fleet" Though also, tbf, GRRM has hinted that at least some of the plotlines in the books will probably tie up the same as they do in the show - AND has stated that he won't be changing the book ending just because it upset people. He outright said he doesn't care if the ending makes people mad. So I have a feeling some of the... more hated... plot twists are from the books.
Everyone in the north hate Danny... so why would she stay in the north where she's hated? Even after saving them... they still hated her she didn't feel safe. She was going to her house where she would be safe and free. She wasn't going to Kingslanding at thea time
If you pay attention, Danaerys been on a power trip since season 1, a couple of episodes after becoming Khaleesi, everything was all "Do as I say or die", having other people, or dragons do her killing for her, burning people alive and smiling about it - kinda like The Mad King 🤔 I think Sansa doesn't like Danaerys because she's spent all of her teen years watching, learning, being around and being abused by psychopaths - Cersei, Joffrey, The Hound, Little Finger, Ramsey, and everyone around them, all of the King's Guard etc, and she can smell psychopath all over Danaerys, maybe, I dunno, George RR Martin didn't write this, Benioff and Weiss did, that's why this season isn't as good 😕
I think it’s really evident that Jaime would still make that choice, even with the amount of good things he’s done and choices he made- that connection with them was always there. It PISSSSSED me off, but it kind of made a bit of sense, he only chose to leave her recently to fight the war, not before when she’s always been fcked up and did horrid things. I’m sure you finished the season by now, so I think I can say that Brianne was still seeing the good in him and her finishing his knight page shows why she was able to have a good affect on him through the time they spent together, she has a kind and good heart and he needed it
The only reason people are saying 'the writing doesn't make sense' is because this is the part of the story where the 'good guys' (TM) should be triumphantly winning instead of having everything fall apart for them. So they match this show with 99% of the other shows they watch and are miffed the show isn't catering to their egos, so they poke and prod trying to find any excuse to trash the show.
No that's FAR from the only reason. Characters acted in ways that aren't consistent with their motivations, characterization and growth over several seasons worth of story arcs. It's not about who's winning or losing, but smart people doing stupid things, armies which were utterly depleted suddenly having greatly increased numbers etc.
@@neospock5034 Naaah, characters acted very much consistent to their ways. The audience was more of less upset they didn't abruptly change to give everyone a Hollywood ending. Let me just tackle the example of 'smart people doing stupid things', by which you are more or less referring to Tyrion. Remember when he smacked the future king or when he made threats against half the court? You think this was smart? Tyrion was always a smart person doing stupid things. As for depleted armies having increased numbers, just compare the amoung of unsullied exiting Astapor and the number of Dothraki circling around Dany at the end of S5 with you-know-which shot. I mean, they even TELL you how many troops were lost and people STILL make up ridiculous conspiracies. @@SerbAtheist Tyrion became a fucking dumbass trusting Cersei. He was so smart and clever the entire show until he advised Dany. Jon’s lines are reduced to muh queen. Everything was just rushed especially when Game of Thrones is known to be detailed and extensive. Writing became cheap
It would be very easy to turn that argument back around on you. For example, one could argue you only LIKED the writing in season 8 because you're a blind fangirl/fanboy, who doesn't have the capacity to understand the deeper writing happening here. Doesn't sound so nice, does it? Why is it a valid argument when you use it?
Remember when Dany burned alive and crucified anyone she wanted to, for 7 seasons? Like Pepperidge Farm and unlike so many other posters who think this all came out of bad writing... I remember!
IMHO it's not the ending per say but rather the pacing. Everything was rushed the last few seasons, but this season especially. They established point A and Z and then skipped a lot of the middle. That's bad structural writing. The arc was good! But incomplete. To each their own though, that's how tv writing is, what works for some doesn't for others. 😅
@@squarific1183 this is apparently the best D&D can do in the absence of book material and a proper story guideline to get to point a to z. post season 6 they were in completely uncharted territory and had to write the story and dialogues themselves. they are not george martin so you get this... plus i think they needed or wanted to end it quickly because they knew they could not write seasons with the scope and dialogue and characters of the first 4 seasons because they lacked material that good... so remember when we were supossed to get 7 seasons and a movie? yeah, imagine how rushed that scenario would have been even more! the movie clearly was going to be about battle of winter and battle of fire, ut obviously it needed a normal season to develop it properly not a 2 or 3 hour movie as they initially wanted.
Oh wow Dany crucified the people who wanted to mock her by having 163 slave children disemboweled and crucified alive on wooden mile posts to mark the roads pointing towards the city, what a monster she is.
They still would have rushed and changed It anyways as they did with the previous books.

and i dont need a violent end for cersei, having the same tragic end & dying with Jaime could still work without concocting unbelievable scenarios to keep her alive against all sense and logic...
Jaime was like "screw that, i want a woman who can bring the worst in me, and will cast me aside if she can profit something from another man"
-Should we talk about Tyrion and his desper attempts to save Cersei´s life. cersei... who torture him is full life, laugh at each disgrace that happen to him, she wanted to make his life a living hell, accuse him of murder Joffrey and wanting him dead.
I'm STILL angry they put Missandei back in chains, only to senselessly murder her. Shame on the writers.

I believe Dracarys means “burn them all” like the Mad King was known to have said. I think Missandei knew she would die and she was basically telling Dany to prepare for war and kill them all. But seems like Dany took “burn them all” a bit too literally lol

Anyone still hear that smol bloop sound when Tyrion jumps?
I'm still mad about Missandei, and it's been years.
@@SerbAtheist facts
The 2 Showrunners probably wrote the death of Missandrei while having dinner, they blew it, rushed it, and ruined last season.
To taking Kingslanding Dany only needed her generals, Arya in a Jaime mask after she kills him and the dragons.

Oh shit Episode 5 is next! 🙄
R.I.P. to any semblance of sensible writing. High key, this is one of the worst episodes of the series.
She also burned the guy who "recruits" young boys into a slave eunuch army and cuts off their nipples for a demonstration, Dany is pure evil indeed, it won't be long before she graduates to civilian genocide😒
