Very nice looking operation! I have raised rabbits off & on since I was a kid…. 62 years old & I am still drawn to them!

Put a 12”x12” tile in each rabbit cage to help give their feet a break from the wire.
Also the water lines on your pastured drinkers could get to hot for the rabbits to drink.

I was thinking the same. Perhaps a small single wall on the side the drinker is going through to guarantee shade for the end piece and have the line from the bucket feed through roofing? What would be a good solution for keeping the line cool?

We started with a breeding trio about two years ago. We now have 7 rabbits. This past winter I put them in tractors over my raised beds. I can not believe how much my garden has thrived this year! I didn't even add any fertilizer. I am on a small lot in a suburban subdivision and rabbits have been awesome to have for their manure alone.

Did you do any insulation or tarping to shield them for full winter?

We used to raise rabbits for a grocery store years ago. We would have 200 or so at a time. We had a building made into pens to keep them in. This was in Ohio so they were out of the weather. I love tame fried rabbit.

Hi Chuck! Hi Saundra! Glad you are starring Saundra in the videos now! She provides a nice contrast from Chuck and JW. The chickens, rabbits and pigs are more manageable for most people, than the cattle.

We just got our final estimates on all the meat we raised in our first breeding season. 37 rabbits gave us about 130 lbs hanging and about 65 lbs boneless. We have to double that to eat it once a week for a year, so we're looking forward to the Fall season. Also, ya'll might consider adding some "baby saver" wire 6-10" up the side of your doe cages so the kits can't fall out completely. Those broken reds in the second tractor were so pretty! We have sandy's and REW. I'm chomping at the bit to keep a GTS out of them at some point.

Thank you for sharing this information. I'm from the foothills of NC, but I have moved out west now. And wanted to start to raise some bunnies. God's blessing over you.

Pastured rabbits are good because it's free food however the grow out rate is slower than pellets. Also, you must move them 1-2x a day. This gets old. Also they can dig out unless you really fortify the bottom. I tried it and hated it. U immediately went back to raised off the ground cages. Much cleaner ans easier! You can always put "greens" in the cage for them to eat.

I have never had issues with bucks not being fertile, I breed year round and even when it's over 90 for a few days and in the 80s for a good while my does always take.

I was thinking the exact same thing, especially since the chicken videos with the pricing of different cuts was so good and informative.

I have California meat rabbits and I’ve only sold live kits to families for breeding. I am rural Northern California, Redding area and my neighbors and community are homesteaders. Very fortunate. Don’t believe everything you hear about California. We aren’t all bad and we ARE working on the others. 😂 Thank You Jesus 👏

Curious how you do with predators? I would think racoons or other predators could get your rabbits with a cage on the groubd with chicken wire. Thanks and love your videos.

Are you selling these live or for meat at farmers markets? Would love to hear cost/ profit breakdown and how you market them.

We sell them live and for meat but not for "human consumption". Kinda like raw milk.

At one time I had 250 rabbits It started out with a teacher giving my daughter two rabbits that were suppose to be females the next thing you know we bought more and more. You can definitely make money with rabbits. You can sell them as pets meat fur and their feet for good luck You can also sell their poo I would use our feed bags and sale it at the market sold out every time

@@lesliemangrum6976 As a kid we had one rabbits a guinea pig and a small dog that ran the house All three were potty trained. Good job on potty training yours I think if more people did they'd be happy with those that are pets. Fur and rabbit poo in my area is a hot sale

I was told taco or burrito to tell them apart at that age. If it looks like the half end of a taco it's a girl. If it looks like the half end of a burrito it's a boy.

You have made that fake claim that they bite wire they won't eat the grass. That's crazy false have had rabbits in tractors for 20 years. Everything is in tractors even does. Theirs are 2 by 8 runs with a nest box built into one end. Those babies are eating grass as some as they start coming out of box before they could even eat pellets.

Better keep breeding all summer or your fall rabbitsvwill be too fat again. Has to be over 95 for bucks to go sterile and that's only older bucks, young bucks will still be able to work.😊
