I believe that coke first cost him his career, for a couple of very long disqualifications... Then it cost him his health because after retiring he had become very fat, heart diseased and addicted... And finally, in my opinion, it cost him the life. (this is my opinion: when he died he wasn't fat anymore, he wasn't addicted anymore and he was finally back to the person everyone remembered. But he died for the heart. Some damages can't be fixed). After this very long premise I'll just say this: Maradona played having in theory a potential below average, he exploited his potential practically half and half the time and even in doing so he risks being the best ever.
