I like this information on your experience with power management , and what worked and didn't . plus all the past videos you did on how to ,or prepare for the journey from Greece to where you are know , I really appreciate thoughts videos too … Well done . thank you .
Super helpful video thankyou I have saved this as I'm setting up my boat so I'll be back and forth checking out if I need to know something obviously you guys are got experience to back up what you've used
You have the same power and solar that I have. MPPT Vistron 100-30 powered by 390 watts solar. Same battery bank too. 440 hours. My system has never gone below 1.2 volts ever. Dongle smart phone monitor brilliant... everyone tells be great solar set up. I'm interested in the workings and so on of your external regulator for your alternator. Mine charges max 14.2 so slow ar bulk and hopeless at absorption... great vid of yours this time too...I have additionally an airX... comlett'es my package to make it bullet proof. the whole system is topped off with an 800 watt victron invereter. Fan cooled too... keep up these types of vids...
You may describe this as a nerdy video, but I seriously appreciate it. For me, it was excellent real world information that carries far more weight than the theory, so my sincere thanks. It was also well presented.
You may not be experts Xathe, but you are far more expert than I am. I don't watch to be entertained by experts, I watch to be entertained by you and Jackson, and so far you have not disappointed me. Keep on doing what you do and I for one will watch. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks for sharing, great real world information, For comparison the last one I seen about power on a boat was sailing zatara (family sailing on a large cat) they are planning 2000 ah at 24. V. And 4000 watts of solar. So it’s great to see what a couple sailing ideal set up, Great work. I’m a little sad you are stopping sailing, I was hoping you could make the TH-cam work and continue sailing, Any way it has been a great adventure you 2 have been on,
Nicely done. Thank you. A couple of questions: 1. If able, please say what kind of flexible panels you had. You alluded that you got what you paid for. We’re yours an off or discount brand? 2. How did you mount your rigid panels onto your Bimini? You suggested it was without their own rigid frame. Thank you.
I have Victron MPPT CC and 10 big lion batts and the useful range is between 20% and 95%. You can never discharge below 20 and getting above 95 is a long term project : --)
Thanks, guys for the video. What you both achieved sailing halfway around the world is remarkable, I'm just wondering now that your journey has completed whether you're both feeling, not depressed, but sort of lost - if you get what I mean?
hi guys, i recently bought in Croatia a Sun Odyssey 49DS (with all my savings :) ) and i am doing all the work myself but i need help with the new power setup. Currently i have everything standard, ie no solar and 4 gel batteries. I'd like to put rigid panels (which ones would you recommend?) for about 750W as well as 4x100amp lithium (which brand?). Also, do you know what i need to have the standard alternator charge the lithium batteries? Cheers
Sailing On Finding Avalon Hey, I may live in landlocked Scranton, Pennsylvania and never get to step foot on a sailboat... but my iPad is tricked out!!

I don't know if you've seen Sailing La Vagabonde but Xanthe could certainly pass as Elayna's sister. :-)

Great video...Thx! Do you feel that the flexible panels performance was typical of all brands, or specific to the brand you bought?
if you get a hydro generator does it need a charge controller too? or how does that work/integrate into the battery system?

Thanks for the video guys just wandering if your hot water is heated with solar? Atm for me I have to run the engine or shore power. Cheers
Which hydro generator would you go for?
If you are out for more than half an hour do the Starzy come and snatch you?
Is hydro tried & true on boats. Or is it still in it's infancy.
Hydro was around prior to solar
@@mattashford3508 Thanks Matt.
