After this album ends a whole era got its full circle.Abba progressed miraculously and spread their wings to new music horizons and 'perfected pop music to an artform' as another fan wrote. From their next album ARRIVAL and ever after Abba turned into the ULTIMATE pop band.
The songs marked 2021 are for the album "ABBA Voyage" which they released in 2021 after a 40 years hiatus, the album was just a companion piece to their new digital concert ABBA Voyage that's happening in London. The concert uses state of art CGI of the four members of ABBA made by ILM (Disney) + the isolated original voice recordings + a 10-piece live band with backing vocals singers + a lights show in a specially designed/build arena called the ABBA arena. ABBA Voyage just won the VES (Visual Effects Society) AWARD for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project.
hello Matt, so happy to see you in the weekend with your ABBA Journey in the self tittle album "ABBA" now is "Man in the middle" (1975) Honesty, these is one of the "ABBA" album that I like at lost ; it's an interesting melody, good staff, one of that Björn is lead voice, but I prefer other songs in these fantastic "ABBA" album as I think that "Waterloo" is an outstanding song in the second album in the oppositte, these song is the low point in the third album (it's only my opinion) next is "Bang a Boomerang", much better than these with an official video My best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina South America
Good react and... i agree: it's a cool song. In the end they both said goodbye...😅 Take care Matt, because Lucca is taking center stage, just like the girls in ABBA. Keep your eyes open 🤣 Love ❤️ from Chile 🇨🇱👍
This track is on their 3rd studio album "ABBA" from 1975. Even though it is an early and not one of their biggest songs as they were still trying to find their own tune, I like the song. It has catchy thrilling lyrics; the saxophone at the end of the song is fascinating, too.
I think you are doing exactly the right thing, ignoring the Abba videos and focusing only on what is the actual genius of them.. So many others do the other thing, whatching the videos and only comment on the visuals, or the lyrics. This is more real.
Described by Abba's biographer Carl Magnus Palm as a "plodding attempt at funk" which is a bit harsh. It's fine but rather suffers coming after Mamma Mia and SOS.
I'm going to call out Lenny Kravitz again, because this song always reminded me of 'Always On The Run'. That would be the second time he was 'inspired' by ABBA. Are we onto something? :-)
Hi there! So I've talked about this in a number of videos, but I do indeed listen in an immersive manner with headphones to every tune I react to---just not on camera, as I'm not set up to do reactions with direct-line audio. But as a DJ for 25 years, I certainly appreciate having a proper listen with headphones. Cheers.
It’s best NOT to react to music videos because they are distracting! You end up focusing more on the video than the music itself. After you’ve reacted to all the ABBA’s albums, then you should react to their official music videos. Their Voyage album has lyric videos, with the exception of I Still Have Faith In You. I think that you should react to the songs with the lyric videos on the Voyage album. At least they’re not edited. You’ll appreciate Bjorn’s lyric writings.

Once again ABBA proves their versatility. Interesting and enjoyable track. Thanks Matt! 👍

😎
They wanted to provoke the critics with the cover of that third album because a lot of Swedes accused them to be money-grubbing.
Indeed, I was thinking about the connection with the title image after I did this reaction. Cheers for explaining that!

Oh wow, I caught the earlier ABBA riff in his "Are You Gonna Go My Way," but I didn't pick up on this one until you said it. But well-spotted!
@@mattsnider2667 And the first line of the song is 'My mama said'. Busted, Lenny!
If you don’t use headphones you will miss a lot of the production

Great instrumentation especially the saxophone. I’m not that keen on the vocals.

I agree with everything you wrote.
