Living in an off grid cabin in Labrador, Canada presents its challenges when it comes to 6 months of winter averaging 14 feet of snow each year. Nothing better than plowing snow on the ol atv
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
Bet thats a ton of fun using that snow blower. The city of Wabush will be needing some help with those roads. 😅

Well howdie from Canada 🇨🇦 SK we get mighty chilly down to minus 40 and lots of wind and Snow bye the foot we hav a quad Big Bear 48 inch cut snowblower just going to hook it up to it 22 hp engine l put on it was 16 now got power to move snow so ya not only one with Snow Chuck like to see others surviving in the winter nice to watch ya carry on from the cold toooooo later farmer 😊

That's an awesome rig!! Looks fun too. I have a Can Am outlander video on my channel with the Can Am flex plow, which I love to use. But you are 100 percent correct about having to push it way back to get through the winter.
That’s plow setup works really well in places with 6-8 ft of snow per year (or less). Here though it’s a constant struggles in finding a home for the snow. Tks bud. I’m headed over to VO2ET’s for a coffee👍👍

Chuck I guess you got everything looked after on your snowblower by now. I like you have had it all truck plows,hand blowers,quad plows, Kubota RTV & plow but 2 years ago I purchased the Berco 54” blower powered by a twin cylinder Honda GX690 approximately 25 Hp. The wheels that blower ride on don’t seem right on your blower because they are supposed to be upright all the time for the blower to ride on. If you have made changes you know what I’m referring to and if not feel free to reach out to me

I'm soooo jealous.... I tried ordering a new 66" Bercomac Snow blower for my SxS this fall but they can't get any in... Company don't have the parts to make is what I was told.... Looking forward to getting one in the coming years when the world gets back to normal and parts are no longer an issue. Great rig Chuck

Thats def the king of atv snowblowers!!! I have the granbaby to that one, only upgrade i did to my setup was tire chains!! All the difference in the world!!

I recall when I grew up there Glenn we had WAY more snow....and it was a given we would get a ton. Sometimes the roads would be blocked and we'd miss school (sometimes multiple days!). It was also a given that the Bay would freeze up. Not the same now....and Ive noticed a change in Labrador winters as well as Ive been here 28 winters now. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones! The only issue I've heard about quad snowblower is that the temptation to go "just a little faster" can be hard on the V-belts. Just make sure you have a few spares kicking around.
The guy I bought the machine off of gave me a couple of spares. Im ordering new ones as we speak though just in case. Still interested in finding an owners manual for it though. Hard to find! Tks Jacques

@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors mine is Kimpex. From what I’m seeing it’s the “old” bercomac. The caster wheels on mine were stationary so I removed them and made a set of skis.
Nice machine. Definitely does the job. I have the same snowblower. But bercomac. 54". On a yamaha grizzly 700 . Only difference is I have a kohler 23 hp that came with it in 2008. Very reliable machine. I enjoyed watching your video but if I can make a suggestion to you is you might want to get a set of good chains on 4 wheels and I tried to figured your adjustment because for some reason your snowblower wheel do not sit on the ground. I do use mind at camp as well on a fairly long driveway and road to get to my camp. The add up of 4 tires good set of diamond shape chains really made the difference. Enjoy 😉

It's great Scott. I opened up a friends driveway after I did this video. The snow had been there ALL winter and was three feet high in places. The blower had no problem with it whatsoever
Love Labrador...work there for 3 years...
Loved my Bercomac 66" with 22hp Honda that I had on my Defender HD10.... that was a Monster, moved mad snow, served me flawlessly for 2 winters. Now my Tym 394 with 72" rear blower - that makes the Berco look like an amateur (and can't beat the heated cab and bluetooth tunes). Nice to see you upgraded from your walk behind blower!
I watch Todd S with his new Kubota and I drool everytime (which is not good when it's -30 lol) You guys have the absolute best setups thats for sure. I will get there one day....maybe a retirement gift to myself! Tks bud

Just found yourchannl, love your accent, willow on the quad was awsome, ive waych videos of sno dawg atv blowers .my dream when i sell my house and retire in the mountains.i use a polaras and my plow to do my driveway and i have a snow blower tochop up snow banks on mine and many neighbors( gotta take care of my elderly neighbors).where is ur cabin located? I live in wabush (Labrador). But my cabin is actually situated about 50 kms outside of town. Completely off grid of course
That a great set up. I have seen similar years ago but homemade and hard to use. Everything was manual adjust. Very nice quad . I have a 2005 honda rubicon 500. It still runs strong and has never left me stranded. I shipped it back home 6 years ago and use it every fall. 500-800 kms. Regular maintenance on those quads and they last a very long time. I think the Honda Brand was definitely the way to go fro sure. Very dependable. I owned an older trx300 that was bulletproof. Tks Lloyd

I have one that I picked up this past summer, it's been a learning experience but I am getting the hang of her.
Yes it’s not just “sit and go” I’m learning. It takes a bit of getting used to. I used mine yesterday after getting over a foot of snow and it worked incredibly well. 👍

It’s a QUADRAX 54” SNOW OGRE. (Series S.E Version 2.0). I’ve searched and searched. There was one guy who sent me pictures of a manual which were forwarded to him. It helped but the picture clarity isn’t the best. The bercomacs are very similar but not exact. I find myself guessing at belt lengths etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated 👍

Happy New Year Chuck. That’s a great looking rig - I could have used that when we lived in the snow belt south of Buffalo…we would get 12 feet of snow in a typical year, and I shoveled it all by hand…I was younger then, lol
Wow!! The very first year I lived in Labrador I was too "financially challenged" to get myself a snow blower....so I too shovelled by hand. Needless to say I saved my nickels and dimes after that and bought one for winter #2!! Tks Micheal and happy new year to you as well

Well thanks for sharing openly William. I am so very sorry to hear of his passing though for sure. My father is still alive (85) and I cherish every move he makes. I don’t live close to him so any time spent with him face to face feels so good. I know one day he won’t be there and I’ll miss him. Like undoubtedly you do your dad. They made us the men we are. Again, greatest condolences from me and my family sir.
